The Enchanting Place

If you like deep tissue, this is the place. I am in town for a wedding with a nasty, stubborn knot in my back. I’ve had three 60-​minute massages in the last two weeks and nothing has helped. Desperate, I ran in for quick 30 minute deep tissue.
Oh my god, finally relief. She did not go easy on me. :) she was really strong, and really put her weight into it. It finally loosened, and I’m leaving a new woman!!! For only $ 45. My god what a deal.

I had my first visit there at enchanting spa. As I enter there, I was politely greeted to the establishment. My masseur was Winnie. The place was very clean and tidy with a professional outlook of the spa. She was considerate of my feelings and needs during my session. I would definitely pay another visit there.

i came for the foot massage — $ ⁵⁰⁄₉₀ minutes. i paid upfront, and had to tip before the service, as well. i was told i wasn’t tipping enough and that I needed to tip more! i just looked at the lady and she said,‘it’s okay the way i’m talking to you?’ — to which i told her, ‘no, it’s not okay, actually, it’s quite rude.’ she didn’t seem to take a clue and said something about if i didn’t leave a good tip they’d think they did a bad job. i tried to tell her that i couldn’t tip based on quality before the actual service. so i left my tip as it was — i’m not into tip bullies. anyways, the massage was from johnny, who did a great job. i’m a long distance runner, and he did a great job working on my feet/​legs. i’d go back again — but i think 1 hour would suffice. all in all, this place is worth trying at least once.

in a neighborhood where there are tons of massage places, this is really a gem. for the the price, you get a clean, quiet space and super nice staff. price isn’t even that much compared to $ 80+/hr massage, $ 50-​$ 60/​hr is worth it. you can go around the corner for something $ 5-​$ 10 cheaper, but i’d rather not have to sit through all the people yelling back and forth, loud tv and music and just not relaxation at all.
like any spa, you have to let your therapist know what you prefer. but at the same time, if you would like your therapist to help you, you have to let them do what you are paying them to do.
i found this place out of the blue. always walked by but never been in. finally checked it out one day and have not stopped going. this place reminds me alot of hong kong spas. their techniques and styles are very similar. they also have a super body and face firming & slimming treatment. like any treatment, you have to be committed to giving it time. but if you do, you will see results in a week. unbelievable but true. ask for cindy.

This is my first review on Unilocal.I have been going very often (weekly) to relax feet for a good stress relieving massage. Today I tried enchanting place to change it up a bit. The quality of the massage way WAAAAY beyond what I have previously experienced in this neighborhood. Professional and brief introduction, detailed and focused massage with a clean private environment. I will be back. I didn’t get a chance to say thank you to my masseuse before I left (paid at the beginning) but it was really really good and just what I needed to decompress. Thanks!

I got a massage yesterday and today I feel like I got beat up with a baseball bat. I had Cindy and my bf had Raymond. Raymond seems to have good review and my boyfriend liked him. CINDY on the other hand, way to much pressure, she hit all the wrong spots and she rubbed extremely fast. I had a 90 minute massage and im embarrassed to say I paid for it, I wanted to walk out after 20 mins.
Do not go here unless you want a hard rough massage and to be completely in pain all night and the next day. I doubt Cindy is certified and I will be going in tonight to talk with the manager.

Poor quality massage.
You’d be way better off at any Thai massage (La Née, La Biang, Anjalee, etc.) where the service is professional, they actually know what they’re doing, and they put effort into what they’re doing.

I really hesitate to even mention this place because I want it to be my best-​kept secret… but my principles dictate that good work deserves good mention, so here we go.
I had a magical day a couple of Saturdays ago in which I got rock-​star parking on the FIRST TRY the morning of the Alamo Square Flea Market (let’s just take a moment and let that sink. in. Shall we?) and then, later in the day, found — wait for it — meter-​free parking a BREATH away from Clement Street. I nearly wept. When I got out of my car, I noticed The Enchanted Place and was lured by the ‘foot massage’ sign in the window.
Now, I am the kind of girl who chose to let a perfect stranger rub my feet for an hour backstage at a Black Crowes concert rather than rub elbows with the band — true story. I would probably let Hitler rub my feet if only he did it well. I am a slut for a good foot rub and am always chasing a good one (I ALWAYS opt for the ‘deluxe’ pedi at any nail place if it involves an extended foot massage).
I decided I’d do my shopping on Clement and if I were in the mood, I’d come back. After dropping dough on cards at Green Apple, bowls at Kamei, and coffee at Blue Danube, and very nearly deciding to get in my car and go home, I thought what the hell, I’ll try anything once.
I’m sooooooooooooooo glad I did. I had Raymond do a 60-​minute foot massage for me and OMG OMG OMG I was a new woman when he was done. ‘Foot massage’ is a little misleading, because he started with my temples and crown (aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh), neck & shoulders, arms, gave my feet/​calves the bulk of his attention, and then finished by having me turn over face down and doing my back. Best massage I’ve ever had and that was with clothes ON.
I will SO be back, any time I’m in the neighborhood with a little cash to burn. Great value, great service; no it isn’t Nordstrom Spa and I wouldn’t want it to be. Thank you, Raymond, for making my awesome Saturday downright perfect.

It is not like me to re-​review a place. However, I have to tell you in the last week I have had no less than five folks say to me, «Hey, you look good.»
The simple reason — a simple facial. Most guys have no idea. We don’t do make-​up –most of us — but a good facial will make you look younger and feel better.
And the wonderful folks at The Enchanting Place will make sure you have a nice experience. Wonderful friendly owner. Winnie is the facial expert. She is good at what she does and on top of that she is just a delight to talk to and to be with.
I’m a tough guy. I don’t ask for directions and I don’t apologize. But when it comes to taking care of my body: mani pedi facial I’m all over it. It is one of the great advantages of living in San Francisco that these top quality services are available at such low prices.

100% worst message ever. Are you at the door of this hell hole checking Unilocal to see if you should give this place a shot? DO NOT ENTER! I don’t know where to begin on how bad this place is, so I won’t. Save yourself.

For the value, this place awesome. I’ve never gotten a full body massage but the one hour foot massage comes with a shoulder, neck and body rub so I would just get that. They also have deals on facials – I got one and my skin looked amazing. The room for the foot massages I found relaxing, facials not as much. I had great customer service, the women had to leave during the facial, but again for the prices, it’s totally worth it.

I have been to several of these types of spas. Here is a quick summary of what I thought the pros and cons were of my experience.
Pros:
Clean, private rooms, nice receptionist.
Cons:
The massage experts are just mediocre.
I would give it 3.5 stars

I love this place! I got the full body pain massage, its because I was in pain not because I wanted pain.
It was great, peter was my massage therapist and he rubbed me down hella hard. It hurt so much! I was saying pain words and asking him to loosen up on the pressure but he said «no pain later» he was a man of little words but I didn’t mind. =) It was true I had no pain later, well a little pain but nothing compared to the sharp breath taking pain I came in with.
There was NO wait, I made an appointment an hour earlier, and everyone was very nice. I tipped 10 dollars because he put in alot of work on my massage, it was worth it.
I’ll be coming back for sure! =)

I’m shocked at all the bad reviews. I started going here again a couple of weeks ago and have been getting the most amazing foot massage (and head, shoulders, arms, legs) from Raymond. His massages are actually beginning to cure a year old medical problem (NOT foot-​related) that no medical treatment, east or west, has been able to help.
$ 30 for an hour massage is unheard of. I have been voluntarily giving a $ 10 tip. Who knows how much the person doing the massage actually gets paid.
Their standing by the reception desk seems to be interpreted as DEMANDING a tip.
Also, if a massage is too rough; say something.
Everyone I have met here including the owner has been very nice.

I think this is my first 2 star review. I mean I didn’t completely dislike this place. There were some good things and there were some … not so good things?
This place was clean. I had a regular facial done, and the results were alright, my face felt really clean and fresh and all my blackheads were gone from the extractions, so my nose was super smooth. They gave us some free eye masks because we waited an hour longer than my scheduled appointment… Now were getting to the not so good things .
Like I said above, we waited an hour over our scheduled appointment time (my friend and I). They only had one cosmetician that day, so for both me and my friend’s facial, we had 1 girl walking back and forth between us. I definitely give her props because she didn’t rush between the two of us, but if we each had our own cosmetician … it would be less stressful on her and neither of us would have to wait so long with products on our face, that at certain times, began to become really uncomfortable!
This wasn’t my first facial, so I knew the blackhead extractions hurt … but they don’t hurt THAT much. She actually bruised my nose, so when I yawn or move my nose, it really hurts now!): I really didn’t appreciate how she didn’t ask how I felt during the extractions, she just kept going.
I’ll think about coming back. My nose really hurts still and it’s been 2 days. She did inform us about our skin … kind of. She kept saying I was sensitive and I need to build that up. … Is that even possible? –_–

Im going to make this review short and rude, like the experience I had here. I have never been so appalled by any service until I came here. This is the first time that I have had people demand their tips!!* I think they got the concept of tipping all wrong. Not only was the massage a waste of my time and money, I was made very uncomfortable by how rude the staff treated me.
I felt cheated and bullied here. The massage had frequent interruptions and ended ten minutes early! I paid for a 60 minute massage and got a 40 minute pounding that beat the crap out of me.** They got some major changes to make in their business practices if they want to survive.
Here’s a tip: DON’T FUCKING DEMAND YOUR TIPS SO RUDELY!!!
*They weren’t being subtle about asking for tips, they downright said «you should tip me now» and dared request MORE when they thought it wasn’t enough.
**even after multiple requests to soften the punches, it was ignored.

After experiencing a crappy place down the street, my buddies wanted a food massage. After seriously 15 minutes of happy ending jokes we wandered into this one.
Massage was $ 25/​person pre tip. I had some old lady whose bones were cracking as she was massaging me. It was painful but that was OK. what was not ok was that it didnt feel good afterwards either. crappy. It seriously did not have a happy ending.

Went for a couples massage. When we arrived they were confused about our appointment. We arrived on time but it took 10 minutes to sort that out.
Eventually we were in a room, could have been darker. Massage was mediocre. Masseuses talked to each other in another language the entire time – not so relaxing. They were laughing too, made us think they were talking about us – not so enchanting. They stopped 10 minutes early, evidently not taking into account the extra time it took to figure out our appointment and what a couples massage means.
Worst part – we tipped 18% for a bad experience and they asked for more!!! «massage is very hard job. give more tip.» My husband threw in an extra 5 bucks we left the place in shock.

Great find! And great deals. I went for the promo 75 min foot reflexology massage for $ 29 (insane!).
The people are very friendly, and the vibe inside is nice. The ceilings are painted a calming blue with fluffy clouds and little white doves :)
The foot massage also includes head, back shoulders, legs, hands. Pretty awesome (and they take credit cards)!

Worst facial I’ve ever had in my entire life, and I’ve had facials for the last 13 years.
Dry spots from whatever they used, and popped my blackheads in such a way that there is a big swell on my forehead.
