Kate and her husband did an amazing job photographing our wedding at picchetti winery in August. They were very professional, prompt with responses and had the beautiful photos available to us within two weeks!!! We also had Kate do a maternity photoshoot which was so amazing as well. Great eye and the finished photos received so many compliments. My husband wants Kate to photograph our baby when he arrives too! Highly recommend Kate. My husband and I contacted Kate for our engagement and wedding session in San Francisco. We had an amazing experience with both she and her husband, Brian. We had a blast roaming around town scouting out great locations for our engagement pictures and boy did we get the most amazing shots in all of our favorite parts of the city.
The wedding day pictures captured memories we will never forget. The photography absolutely exceeded our every expectation. The framing was perfect and the photos just perfectly captured who we are as a couple. Kate takes time to edit each picture and then sends you everything you need to post, share, and print the photos.

My wife and I planned a simple wedding at San Francisco City Hall in September 2013. Our budget and time was limited, but Brian and Kate provided us with a service and price well suited to our needs. I did not know what to expect when I made that first phone call to inquire about YBowyer’s services. My wife and I planned to take photos before, during, and after our ceremony. When I spoke to Brian, he immediately agreed to our conditions, and offered to drive us around the City on the day of the ceremony to minimize our stress. In also speaking with Brian, it was readily apparent he was knowledgeable of a multitude areas to take pictures in San Francisco, and was adept at planning the photo-​shoot itinerary, to the point my wife and I did not have to worry about when and where we would take the photos. During the weeks and days leading up to the wedding, Brian always made himself available to answer any questions I had about wedding-​planning. When that special day came, Brian and Kate were in full control, executing the game plan with aplomb and neutralizing difficulties as they arose. For example, it was too foggy for them to take shots of us at the Golden Gate Bridge so they quickly found other locations in the City we found exceptionally pleasing. Bryan and Kate were not shy about disagreeing with each other regarding the manner in which a shot should be taken, which was to our benefit, because their disagreements often yielded unexpectedly beautiful and creative shots. At all times before and during the ceremony, Brian and Kate were aggressive in making sure the wedding stayed on schedule and guests were in their proper places. They naturally wore the hat of wedding planners as expertly as they took photographs! Following the ceremony, Brian and Kate took us to the private areas of City Hall, where no one was around, and proceeded to take shots of us with breathtaking backdrops of City Hall. In showing the photos, a typical comment we have received is that it appeared as though my wife and I had City Hall to ourselves. Brian and Kate also came to the reception, and stayed for the entire affair, for a full 9-​hour day. Their dedication would mean nothing, however, if they did not produce excellent photographs. I just wanted to take a moment and let everyone know that the dynamic duo that is Kate and Brian did my wedding photos last month. They were beautifully done and were delivered before the time frame promised. Kate and Brian captured the day perfectly, it was so much fun relieving the day through their expertly taken photographs. After a less then favorable experience with our wedding photographer last year, my husband and I were reluctant to deal with anymore photographers. With our one year anniversary upon us and very few pictures of us together taken since we decided to chance it and have some photos done for our one year anniversary. We are SO incredibly glad that we did.
Brian and Kate are such lovely down to earth people. They made us feel completely comfortable and at ease. They met us in point reyes where we were vacationing and even though the weather was definitely not ideal Brian duked it out and was able to capture the true beauty of the surroundings and the essence of US. We were so delighted with the finished product. it takes real talent to be able to get such beautiful photos in such unfavorable conditions. We could truly not be happier, and would absolutely recommend Ybowyer Photography to anyone and everyone that wants genuinely creative, distinguished, beautiful photos done. This review is long overdue– My wedding is just in about 3 months and we had the engagement photo shoot several months ago.
If I had to describe YBowyer Photography in one word — it would be: Extraordinary.
Before the actual photo shoot, Kate and I had exchanged numbers of ideas… I am extremely detailed oriented and picky too — so I wanted to make sure that she had an idea of what I wanted etc… she sent me some of her ideas and the communication flowed well and I felt like she got me. :)
Fast forward to the photo shoot… We went to numbers of different locations and had a blast — Kate and Brian made my fiancé and I feel so comfortable, we were able to be ourselves. I agree with Sarah H. they are both reliable and FUN.
Best of all, the photos came out AWESOME. The engagement session came out so much better than I could have ever imagined.
My fiancé and I were both immensely impressed with the creativity and photography — we hired her for our wedding! We also used one of the photos from the engagement sessions as our save the date… and received many compliments. I am so relieved to have found Kate and Brian!

Truly extraordinary photographer! We did our engagement with Kate and the photos came out amazing. I was already smitten with the sense of style from her website photos, but even more impressed once I met her in person. She comes with her husband Brian and you instantly feel comfortable with them. Not only are they a reliable and fun team, but they took some extraordinary pictures of us.
Kate incorporated our ideas into the photos but also offered us creative suggestions about shoot sites and poses. Their knowledge of SF shooting sites, energy, and sense of humor made the whole afternoon feel like a lighthearted adventure through the city. The results were incredible and our families loved the engagement pictures.
The biggest plus with this couple, aside from the artistic talent, is that they are exactly the people you want around you on your special day. Kate and her partner did our company holiday party, and she captured the very best moments with photos we even turned into holiday cards. Kate & co. made us look incredible!

Kate photographed our family for our annual Christmas card last year, and it turned out just perfectly! She was a delight to work with — sne was warm and charming, and she instantly made everyone feel perfectly at ease. She did an amazing job of posing us and really listening to what we wanted to portray, and we ended up with so many great shots that it was really hard to pick which one would end up on the card.
We hope that Kate will work with us again this holiday season, and I cannot recommend her enough for any photography project.

I actually met Kate through a Craigslist posting. I was looking for a photographer to shoot images for my blog
and she replied. I am so grateful that she did! Not only is she an amazing photographer, she is also an amazing person. We always have a blast when we shoot and every shot comes out amazingly gorgeous! She is fast and very efficient with re-​touching and has an amazing vision. I would highly recommend her for all types of photography and furthermore recommend that you do ASAP because soon she is going to be overbooked with clients!

My fiancé and I worked with Kate for an engagement shoot in San Jose! She was friendly and professional and gave us great directions while also putting us at ease. She is very funny and made us laugh which made the whole thing much easier and the pictures more natural and relaxed. We did not have a lot of time for the shoot because we had to get to another appointment but she was totally cool about it and made the most of our time together, getting a lot of great shots! We were extremely impressed with the photos she managed to capture, not only were they beautiful but she really got the emotions which we felt for each other in there, she knows how to capture the right stuff! Many friends and coworkers have complimented us on these beautiful pictures! I would highly recommend working with Kate! :)

Kate just did my family photo shoot and I’m so impressed with everything! Not only did the photos come out great, she was patient, gave great directions (since my family is shy and don’t know how to pose for pictures), and did whatever it took to take great shots. She was also really fast with sending us the images (even with touch-​ups). Would definitely hire her again!

I met Kate at a fashion show featuring Vera Wang dresses that I modeled at the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco. She was one of the photographers there and shot us during and after the show. The pictures she took of me there are some of my favorite in my modeling portfolio. Then she offered to shot my boyfriend and I on a later date. I cherish the couples shots she created for my bf Imani and I. We both have her photos printed for decorations in our homes and as our phone screen savers. She had great ideas on how to pose us but also let us do our own thing and we’ve only had the best feedback on the creativity of our portraits!!! I highly recommend her!
