Yoppi Yogurt

I liked this location. Came by today to see the glass doors and windows papered up in white from the inside. Nuts.
This was a clean location with good, fresh ripe fruit. Go to is original with strawberry, mango, and Oreos. Mochi if I’m feeling extra crazy.

I had a real craving for froyo. It was close by and they had pomegranate :) it’s located in the mall. It small but why More space? You make it yourself here. They don’t give stamps but they have those balls that pop in your mouth. (yeah sounds gross but I’m not sure what they’re called.)
I went there about a month ago and they had this magnetic board where you place a dot on the new flavor you’d like to serve.
I will be back :)

Although they don’t have a lot of flavors of yogurt, I liked how fresh the ones they have are. I came here with my living social $ 1 deal, and got original tart + French vanilla. And piled a TON of fruit on (strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, mango, etc). And it was still only $ 4. So then I went back and put even more fruit on and some almond roca. And this only got me to $ 5.40. But I stopped because my fruit was toppling over the side of my cup.
Overall, great yogurt place in FiDi!

Love the tart and especially the yellow cake batter flavors! Plenty of toppings are available including fresh fruit, cake & cookie crumbs, sauces, candy and cereal. Even more exciting are Yoppi’s macarons. I only tried the coffee macaron which was really good, yet it was coated with some kind of coffee glaze which was on the bitter side. I do hope to try more flavors though. The macarons are kept refrigerated so if you eat them immediately, they’ll be a bit more chewy but of course you can leave em at room temperature so they get fluffier.
This location is small but is very clean and bright. Be sure to sign up for their frequent buyer program which only requires a phone number. Also you’ll need to spend at least three big ones to use plastic but since fro-​yo costs a bit more here, you probably will spend over three bucks.

The plain tart flavor is good and they have fresh fruit and the other toppings are stored in sort of those candy dispenser tubes which i thought was cool.
Their other flavors weren’t terribly impressive (vanilla, cappuccino) and the place is so small that when theres more than 3 people in line you feel sort of claustrophobic — not their fault, but just didn’t love the yogurt enough to want to deal with the crowded space.

Going to Yoppi is always fun because they change their flavors weekly. Plus you can really be gluttonous and put as many toppings as you want, but be careful, you get charged by the ounce! They had a red velvet recently that was really good. Tasted like red velvet cake. I liked their chocolate raspberry as well, really quite tasty.
I’m still waiting for the taro flavor though…

I’m not a big fan of frozen yogurt, but I did enjoy Yoppi’s as it tasted a little more like ice cream for me. It’s a little expensive for fro-​yo (hence the 3 starts). But it is super clean, interesting flavors (They have the standards + some exotic ones like pear, blueberry, I think maybe a toffee or hazelnut??). However, there were not a lot of toppings to choose from which is another downside.
This place also has a great location — located conveniently near BART so grab some on your way home or to work!

They make up for their lack of flavours (only 4) and toppings with French macarons!
This being my second Yoppi Yogurt stop of the day and having already had all the flavours they offered here at the Montgomery location, I skipped the froyo and went straight for the macaroons (
). There were 8 flavours to choose from — earl grey, passionfruit, rose water, raspberry, pistachio, hazelnut, cassis, and chocolate. If I could’ve, I would’ve gotten one of everything.
But, against my heart’s desire (and to the delight of my waistline) I just got the earl grey and passionfruit (
). And boy were they tasty! No doubt about it, they tasted like earl grey and passionfruit. Both were huge and had ample amount of cream sandwiched between two chewy meringue cookies. DELISH!
Though at $ 1.95 each they’re a little pricey. Miette only charges $ 1.75.

I’ve been to many fro-​yo shops on both the East and West coasts, and I have to say that Yoppi on Sansome and Clay is by far my fave. Although its address is 475 Sansome, the shop is physically located on Clay. I posted a photo of the storefront for anyone having difficulty finding this place, like we did the first time we visited.
Whenever we’re in the Bay area to visit family, my husband and I make it a point to stop by Yoppi because none of the fro-​yo shops in NYC can compare.
Although I don’t consider myself a fro-​yo aficionado, I’m always drawn to this Yoppi shop because of its large variety of toppings (I counted 25 one time, but it may be more. oh, and does any other froyo shop offer lychee poppers? I think not), the freshness of their fruits (most of which are organic, if I’m not mistaken), the unique and constantly changing fro-​yo flavors, the friendly service, and their commitment to eco-​sustainability (they use recycled and biodegradable utensils and cups).
I’ve been to countless fro-​yo shops that offer very few, dried up and unappetizing-​looking fruit toppings, and was even surprised to learn from one worker in a NYC shop that they are instructed to count the number of mochi and fruit slices per cup! I was horrified and sorely disappointed when I was left with no toppings halfway into my cup. Which brings me to another reason why I love Yoppi: it’s self-​serve!
I don’t mind paying by the ounce because, as another reviewer mentioned before, I can control my topping-​to-​froyo ratio, ensuring that I can have a piece (or five) of fruit, mochi, cereal, or candy with my very last spoonful of yummy Yoppi yogurt!

Yoppi was a Blackberry Unilocal app find. I work in SOMA so FiDi lunch and treat spots are uncharted territory for me. Luckily one sunny afternoon I was walking back to work from an appointment and I used the app for the first time and it directed me, my sweet tooth, and my froyo addled soul to Yoppi.
I couldn’t find the storefront at first; I went into an office building and wondered if the front desk was a clever front for a fro-​yo place. Then I rushed around the corner and almost knocked over someone’s salad at Mixt Greens. Almost giving up, because I’m too shy to ask strangers for directions, I used my superior olfactory senses which lead me to Clay Street, where Yoppi’s entrance is!
Yoppi is armed and dangerous with the best toppings and flavors I’ve found to date. Self-​serve is diet and wallet suicide, if you’re not careful. With all the amazing toppings (figs, cheesecake!), and fruity yet creamy flavors (peach, raspberry), the calories pile on and the dollars fly out.
There are two barstools, but I like to take my yoppi and savor it across the street in the Transamerica Redwood Park. I enjoy a small bowl of tranquility before I have to leave the FiDi lotus leaf to return to Skeevy Sixth Street.

My perfect pick-​me-​up for a mid-​week, mid-​afternoon treat is a cup of sweetly tart yoppi yogurt + blueberries + rainbow mochi. (And, yes, this applies even in the winter.)

— Creamy, not too sweet or tart yogurt;
— Self serve, 45 cents/​lb, endless tasting cups;
— 4 flavors (Friday’s was strawberry tart, original tart, dutch chocolate & french vanilla) that can be swirled;
— Lots of (fresh) toppings, including: organic acai granola, organic pumpkin granola, coconut, butterfinger, fruity pebbles, carob chips, yogurt chips, white chocolate chips, almonds, toasted nuts… and a bunch more.
— Clean
— Limited bar seating + 2 chairs with a table
— Really nice owners — always a plus!

Really good on a hot day, the Vanilla is the best I’ve ever had in the realm of froyo.
My favorite combo: chunks of cheesecake and fresh raspberries.
Why it’s not 5? The strawberries are frozen and don’t feel right when taking in spoonfuls with the smooth and creamy yogurt and soft cheesecake.
The lady who works the register has the nicest cardigans too.

(And no, I have NO IDEA how those chocolate chips and mochi bits got in there…) ;)

I wasn’t aware that Yoppi Yogurt was another self-​serve froyo place until Lolia S. told me about it; for awhile, I thought the only self-​serve froyo places in SF were Icebee and Happy Yogurt.
Yoppi appears to be one of those tucked-​away secrets of the Financial District; today, I finally decided to embark on the mission of going to Yoppi and checking it out since I’m rarely ever in this part of the Financial District. I walked up Sansome from Bush and… nearly missed Yoppi Yogurt. I remembered the address – 475 Sansome, but where was it?! I just saw a big lobby area for the building, so I felt confused. Did it no longer exist? I couldn’t find any obvious signs of the store being nearby.
I walked up another block and then turned back around. Only when I turned back around and was crossing Clay Street did I see Yoppi, which, in actuality, faces out towards Clay Street and not onto Sansome. Confusing, but at least I didn’t make the trek for nothing.
Yoppi encompasses the essence of both a self-​serve place and a regular shop; there’s a little bit of seating (window, and one table I believe), and the space isn’t as big as, say, Icebee. The service is amiable, even if it is at a minimum due to the nature of self-​serve. However, I was quite impressed and relieved to see Yoppi employees going around and cleaning up any small messes around the froyo machines and the toppings bar. If you’ve read my previous reviews, you know I stress cleanliness as a big factor for the likability of a self-​serve place. The employees were wiping up the small drips from the machines and cleaning off the crumbs that previous customers had spilled around the toppings bar. Very nice.
There are only four flavors, and they come at a premium price: $ 0.45 per ounce, which seems a little much for self-​serve. They do offer two sizes though: small and large, albeit the «small» is still too large for me! They also had sample cups available, which helped me figure out which flavors I wanted today.
I tried out the Plain Tart, Peach Tart, and the French Vanilla. There was also Chocolate, but unfortunately I still am a little wary of eating chocolate these days. The plain tart was firm and creamy, and the Peach Tart had a light peach taste to it. I ended up serving myself the French Vanilla, since I was in the mood for sweet froyo today.
My favorite part was the toppings bar; I liked the unique offerings of NY Cheesecake bits, Flower Sprinkles, and Lychee Poppers. They also had Rainbow Mochi, fresh fruit, granola, cereal, nuts, and other various toppings. As I mentioned above, the toppings all looked clean; I had trouble scooping up the Cheesecake bits from the bar since they kept sticking to the spoon.
Aside from the froyo/​toppings, they also had a case of premium drinks. I went ahead and got a Kombucha with my froyo since it’d been about six months since I last had Kombucha. Grand total: $ 6.93 plus tax ($ 2.75 for the Kombucha). If I had gone for the froyo alone, it would have been about $ 4. Maybe a «steep» price for froyo, but come on, we’re talking about the Financial District here.
My cup of froyo plus toppings was satisfying, although I think I drowned out the French Vanilla flavor with the mixed toppings. The Lychee Poppers were cute and literally popped in the mouth; they looked like Salmon Roe to me when I saw them in the bar. The cheesecake bits were delicious though, and the mochi was soft and chewy (relatively fresh).
It’s too bad that Yoppi is a little out of my way, but I suppose I’d make the trek up Sansome if I wanted some good self-​serve froyo next time.

Yaaay! Finally a froyo place that has ice cream-​like yogurt :) The chocolate and french vanilla were super tasty. I do have to say however, that the peach tart yogurt was AWESOME — and I don’t even like fruity or tart yogurt.
Loves: do it yourself everything, cinnamon toast crunch topping, sample cups, all kinds of toppings (oreos, chocolate shavings, sauces, fruit, mochi, cookies, anything!)

I was on my way back to work the day after being laid off to go pick up my stuff. Feeling kinda down and seeing this place on my way I decided that ice cream would for sure get rid of the unemployed blues! So I wandered in and grabbed my cup for the self-​serve plain yogurt and the fruity pebbles. The place was cute and had a fun vibe.
As I piled on the fruity pebble deliciousness, the cashier (owner?) asked me how I was doing and I for some reason opted not to lie and to tell her, well, «just okay» she asked me why, i told her i’d just been laid off and she, no kidding, gave me a hug. yes a hug. in the yogurt shop.
5 stars for the yogurt… and the hug.

Ohhh. $ 0.45/oz, $ 7.20/lb for froyo.
Flavors = chocolate, french vanilla, strawberry tart and original tart. They have samples. They were all very good. I’m not even a huge fan of the tart stuff, and I think theirs has enough sweetness to balance out the tartness.
I’m a fan of vanilla, and especially french vanilla. So I grabbed a ‘small’, with fruit toppings and granola. It was $ 3.58 for my post-​lunch dessert. Yum, yum in my tummy! Unfortunately… it was gone by the time I walked back to my office with it. Drat, I should have taken that lid! :-P
This place is tiny, quiet, and very soothing actually. On the plus side, they accept credit cards! Woooohoo!

Serve yourself & pay by the ounce at the scale, three tart and one not tart flavor, go tiny and it’s $ 3, go nuts for $ 6 or $ 7. Speaking of nuts, fruits and berries are often fresh, plus candies, sauces, honey, a dozen breakfast cereals. Nothing crazy, just the all star toppings. Jones sodas and health drinks in the cooler. Small storefront with a few counter seats, high ceiling, and a playful bubblegum pop feel.
There’s a yogurt opening every week downtown. This is the first or second in a planned chain. If it were in my office lobby I would be here everyday for three weeks until I never wanted yogurt again.

November 19, 2008 was a overcast day. But there was sunshine in the city’s financial district, when the area has debuted another fro-​yo shop.
I was there during the midday with my fro-​yo bud motoring with the owner’s friends and family-​members taking continous photographs on the grand-​opening. I thought I was a Hollywood celebrity with all the snapshot and bulbs flashing from all those SLR cameras from all those peoples.
Another «get your own» fro-​yo place at $.45 an ounce introduced to four flavors and I sampled all four of the available flavors.
From left to right:
–Chocolate: really creamy with a true taste of choclate
–Pomengrante: Nice and fruity taste
–Plain Tart was sweet and creamy with less tartness
–Apple was unique with the apple flavor; «How you like them apples?»
The topping bar is also self serves section with fewer selctions from the fresh bar with the berries, crumbled cheesecakes and mochi balls just naming a few and the dried topping section was smaller than some places. I chose the aforementioned topping along with Apple and plain tart split fro-​yo as my treat for a grand total to nearly $ 6.00. I paid cash for my treat, also credit cards are accepted. Being a small place and with a large gathering of friends and families, there isn’t much seating. But there is a park across the street under the Transamerica Building.
And being here on the grand-​opening, I received a complimentary pin and a canvas bag with the logo on each item. Cool items, but what am I going to do with a canvas bag; use it as a seatcover on the bus?
