Description

Specialties

I offer therapy for individuals who come from culturally, racially, and economically diverse backgrounds. I work on a wide range of areas including anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship and intimacy issues, sexuality, eating disorders and body image issues that might have originated from family dynamics, emotional, physical, sexual abuse and trauma, and relational trauma.

I am particularly passionate about working with women who are looking to cultivate a more authentic and empowered sense of self with a stronger voice, healthy boundaries, confidence and compassion. Together, we work on people-pleasing behavior, difficulty in saying «no», compromising one’s own needs, and holding back from authentically expressing their true feelings and wants due to fear of rejection, abandonment, and creating a negative reaction in the other, such as anger or hurt.

History

Established in 2013.

I have been practicing psychotherapy with individuals since 2012. In September 2013, I started practicing in a private practice setting in my current location on Market Street at the cross of Castro St. For the past two years, I have worked with individual clients on a wide variety of issues and challenges facilitating increased self-awareness and personal growth resulting in increased self-confidence, joy and well-being in my clients’ lives.

Meet the Business Owner

Zeynep K.

Business Owner

I have received my B.S. from Fordham University in Business Administration in New York City. Later, my interest and curiosity in psychology led me to pursue a masters degree in Social Psychology at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In the years to follow, I realized that my unique contribution to society was going to be through working with individuals on a one-on-one setting facilitating emotional healing, and personal growth. With this realization, I pursued a degree in Counseling Psychology and received my degree in 2013 from the California Institute of Integral Studies. In addition to a number of different modalities and traditions I have studied to help clients heal and achieve a greater quality of life, I have found my own personal work in therapy to be the most important asset and tool I have in helping clients.

Currently, I am also a student of the Diamond Heart Approach, which is a psycho-spiritual method that aims to cultivates self– realization.
