Bank of the West

This bank is so slow especially one older gentlemen that is a teller. I came to get a pin changed it took 30 mins. Just ridiculous. Teller had to get a manager approval which I waited till she was off her cell phone which obviously was a personal call. I will not return unless I absolutely have to

OK. Thus review is for the drive thru ATM. This is five stars because it is NEVER busy! I have never been inside but the fact you can simply drive up and get cash fast… that is what I like.
There are a lot of lights so I feel safe. Even when you are finished the exit is at a stop light so you are never going to have a problem exiting and watching out for traffic.

So every time I go into this branch, there is a long line and some customer reps take at least 20 minutes per transaction. There us really bad cust. serv. It usually takes about that time unless you are helped by Yolanda. She works efficiently and takes about 5 minutes or so. I wish I didn’t have to bank with this bank but due to my employer’s old habits direct deposit is taking a lot longer than I would hope.
On 11.7.14, an elderly lady named Evelyn jumped in to help with customers; however, it seemed like she slowed down the transactions. Unfortunately, I needed to be assisted by her. This lady not only took a good 20 – 25 minutes to just cash my pay check. She needed to go to her computer at a different desk to do the following:
1. call someone and didn’t even let me know she would need to verify info … she just said, «I will be right back.»
2 .check the company account at her regular station– which had sufficient funds
3. Checked the company at the teller’s station
4. came back and scanned my CA ID
5. I had already endorsed my check and wrote the account number as I usually do for any other checks and she said I needed to sign in front of her to make sure my signatures matched.
***Mind you she still had my CA ID and it showed the same exact info on the CA ID as it did on my pay check. It is not the first time I had cashed this type of employee check and I have cashed it at that same branch. ***
6. She proceeds to inform me that I should deposit $ into my account so it does not close. Again, the only reason I go to this bank is because my employer banks with them and he does not have direct deposit yet.
I asked her if it is customary for tellers to go through that process every single time or is it just her. She responds that it is just her and she holds back the line in order to try to help. I held my composure as best as I could and just asked for the branch manager, because I felt I was being harassed by this older woman. It was unjust and she took her sweet time to complete my transaction.
She said her branch manager was out on vacation and was going to get a card for me. She took another 5 – 10 minutes to search for a card in his desk and as she walked over to his desk she nearly tripped. It seems as though at times if someone is holding up a line then they would not attempt to assist at all or maybe hire efficient and competent employees such as Yolanda who is the only teller that seems to be quick and efficient.
I have yet to get a response from the branch manager as I am sure He doesn’t care about the customers that bank there and is just there for his own paycheck.

Went to explore new accounts and I thought the staff was ok but the bank policies are as bad as Bank of America and Wells Fargo. Not a good option for a person who wants good customer service!!! Too bad we don’t have good options in the Bay Area for a GOOD bank !!!

I came in here asking questions regarding my current auto loan.
Received no response to any of my questions. The banker basically cleared up «The bill is due every month.»

But he did seem eager to persuade me to open a new account. Not with your banking and communications skillz.

Had to cash a check and headed to the nearest location to my work. VERY friendly people. Nice environment considering the neighborhood. AND, they are some hot girls working there :-) (Does that matter? Uh — yes!)
