We both enjoyed our burritos. I had a regular size and my BF had the large one. We added 3 Beef Tacos as well. I did wonder about the cleanliness of the restaurant because the floors weren’t that clean, to me. The food still missed something. Grease? Seasonings? Not sure and one of my tacos has some burned meat in it. Which was replaced after I brought it to their attention. I still think this area is a little sketchy too. So be on guard.

This place has the best Mexican food! I’ve had almost everything on their menu and they all taste awesome. My boyfriend introduced me to this place a few years back and they never failed us. I highly recommend this place!

I’ve been in here a few times because it’s close to my house, but my last experience will ensure I will not be back. The quality of the food — my beans were watery and flavorless. My tamale was ~80% corn with some dry meat hidden deep inside. The rice was cold, and the quesadilla I ordered was a pathetic little store bought pair of tortillas served on a little white plate. To top it off, you don’t get napkins, you get folded up paper towels. The inside & outside of this restaurant just aren’t clean and aren’t appetizing. BUT, to top of all of this, the manger lady assumed that I didn’t speak Spanish, so she tells the cashier girl to charge me an extra dollar for my credit card. This is in spite of the clearly posted sign that says credit card fee $ 1 for under $ 10 purchase. My $ 11 purchase was over this threshold, but the lady still felt it was right to try and sneak in an extra $ 1 charge for herself. I’d say I was disgusted by this, but the rest of this restaurant already handled that for me.

Horrible! Horrible! Is there a health inspector on Unilocal? We came here bc we were craving tacos. At first, I was hesitant about eating here bc it looked dirty. Then again, you can’t judge the book by its cover right? I’ve had amazing food at holes in the wall places, so maybe this is the same? I got two carne asada and one tongue and a horchata. As I was finishing up my tacos, I noticed small red bugs? Baby spiders perhaps? Under the tortilla. I was mortified! How is it possible that this place received so many good reviews? Are people drunk when they come in here to sober up? I left. Didn’t bother finishing my food. In fact, I threw up a little in the parking lot. Careful when you’re crunching on your food, it’s not what you think it is. If you must eat here for whatever reason, look at your food carefully before diving in.

Came here last night after driving home while looking for a late night grub. I only live 10 minutes away and I’m super sad I didn’t know this place was here until last night. I ordered a burrito with al pastor and my roomate ordered the chicken. All I can say is… Sweet Baby Jesus! I will definitely come back for more. I just wish they made their own tortillas, and their chips are not to die for, but everything else we ordered was an orgasm in our mouths. And I honestly don’t get these one star reviews from these so called«elites». One star review bc there was a new person working and she rang you up wrong? Grow the fuck up you spoiled dumb bitch! One star bc they don’t accept credit cards? There is a fucking ATM right behind you! I swear sometimes I just want to punch these spoiled privileged acting Kardashian generation bitches in their baby makers. Parents need to teach their kids(especially young girls) that the world doesn’t owe them shit, nada zilch!

Their breakfast plates have never disappointed as much as the gooligans in the front trying to hussle their gift cards and random crap. Wish the owners would enforce a no loitering policy because their food is decent but my wife gets uncomfortable so I could easily imagine it follows suit with other ladies/people. I’ve had been here too many times and dissected most of their menu: chilliquiles are the best I’ve had and their chorizo con papas are muy bueno! Each plate is filling and their lunch menu is not as impressive but still good. Their super tacos, flautas, enchiladas, super nachos, chile Verde, various sizes of quesidillas are great for ones with lil monsters and they have horchata(yum)… are early all good! The service is welcoming but a lil espanol would so benefit the visit. I like this place and bring new customers when I can. Pix to come in the future, but the food aside from the hood it’s in it’s worth the visit for chum sessions. The weirdos don’t get up till after 12:00 so breakfast is a must if wanting a good home style plate in the area

I’m from SoCal and came to SJ for a trip. We stayed at a hotel near this sport and came in for a quick bite. GREATMEXICANFOOD! The portions are huge and everything is made as you order. Not to mention also affordable! We had the agua chile as an app it took 25mins because it’s cooked as you order. Not to mention delicious. I got the camarones rancheros for entrée, must of been 20 something shrimp on my plate. And the sauce was so savory. My boyfriend got the fried mojarra and was very pleased with it. We were completely stuffed that we couldn’t finish lol I hope whenever I go back that this is my first stop.

Unfortunately I did not have as good a experience as most Unilocalers here. We ordered soft veggie tacos which were ‘alright’ and a chicken super burrito which was a chicken overload. It only had a lot of chicken, some rice, some beans and a tiny piece of guacamole. Didnt enjoy the burrito at all. A 3⁄5 for the tacos and 2⁄5 for the burrito.

The carne asada was not very tender or tasty. The beans and rice were very good. The ladies working there were very nice.

Well we made it back! Service is good as usual! Chicken Super Taco was bomb! We tried the Flautas and they were absolutely delicious. Not a big fan of the rice but the beans were yummy! We will be back again! Horchata is perfect!

I love this place and have been coming here for a long time! The super burrito is everything! It’s usually not full and parking isn’t that great but it’s worth it. The pricing is ok, and the employees are nice most of the time.

Ok, super tasty Mexican food and beers priced right with great service. Interior had been recently done and they have desserts too. Give em a shot if you’re local and you won’t be sad.

They never answer the damn phone and take super long for to go orders but food is always good. They need more workers or just need to pick up the pace.

There restaurant we were going to didn’t accept credit card, so my friends and I came here instead. We had a group of 5 and we went during the weekend around 1. The restaurant was pretty empty so we were seated pretty quickly. I ordered a wet burrito with carne asada and it was okay. The burrito was huge but neither the meat nor the wet sauce had a lot of flavor. The meat also had some hard pieces that I couldn’t eat. The burrito tortilla was pretty good though, or maybe I just like it when it’s wet. The tortilla was really chewy. Anyway, it was an average burrito. I kept dumping salsa onto my burrito because it just didn’t taste like anything. My burrito came out to be $ 7.60 including tax and tip which is good value for the size. Service is okay; the waitress came by once or twice to ask how things are, but we had difficulty getting ahold of her when trying to get a to-go box.

It was just a random thought: trying something new near the office, then I remembered how I love being random at many points of my life. The staffs, as other Unilocalers have mentioned, are very nice. I ordered a burrito with Cartinas and Al Pastor. They give you no shredded pork but in chunks! Pros: Huge portion on everything especially the meat you get, and the taste, simply glorious! I had it to-go but there are lots of tables for people who want to dine there. Cons: good could be a bit oily for some people, and the parking lot is very small. This place just scored to be my new favorite in the area, and I’m coming back very, very soon. Oh man, I finished that burrito too soon.

El grullo never disappoints! The workers here are super nice and the food here is delicious. I usually order a burrito with half carne asada and al pastor. They have really generous portions so half of a burrito will give you a good food coma for a few hours. Id also recommend trying out their aguas frescas, it’s super refreshing and compliments the food well. The only downside is that it’s cash only and it’s in a dingy parking lot — but all of that can be overlooked!

I give the pozole 5 stars. Its great! I will always get my soup from here. On the other hand… the carne asada tacos have no flavor. I will not order them again. Thats why i give it 3. Carne asada should always taste great at a mexican restaurant. Their horchata is 5 star too. Really good.

Almost passed on this spot because of all the spelling errors on Unilocal.I was thinking the food must make people retarded, at least the waitress speaks English. The English speaking waitress and they take debit gives this shit hole 4 stars.

Located right next to the post office on Alvin. We had a big order last night so it took a little bit longer to prepare. Everyone in our group had something different, but I didn’t really get a chance to taste it, so this review is based on my items. — Fish tacos — I like the fact that my tortilla was crunchy, but the fish was way too salty for me, I couldn’t finish all of it because of that — Side of Mexican rice — this was really oily, the oil leaked through the bag when I brought it home. The flavor was good though, tasted like any other place I’ve had. — Shrimp cocktail — this was bland and even after adding the ketchup and hot sauce. Overall I just thought this place was ok. My group like what they ordered, so maybe next time I’ll try what they had.
