This hillbilly operation will steal whatever they want from your car & then it’s your word against theirs as to what really happened. The guy who runs the Aptos facility is a real ASSHOLE with some SERIOUS ISSUES. I hope you never have to deal with these total PRICKS!!!

I can’t really comment on their towing capabilities but check this out: I just now called them for a tow. I’m willing to pay cash but the lady who answered the phone simply said, «We don’t have a truck available.»
Me: Ok, when will you have one? I’m not in a hurry.
Her: Do you have an account with us?
Me: No, but I can pay cash and I can wait until you have a truck.
Her: We don’t have a truck available.
Great customer service, not!

I’m not sure about about the negative reviews because I had a great experience! My car just stopped starting, so I called my insurance company to see if I was able to receive roadside assistance to tow my car to my mechanics house. Within 15 minutes of my call, Jamie was at my house to tow my car. He was very professional, nice and eager to help. He had to pull my car out of my driveway which was on a hill pointing down. It took him about 10 minutes. Then he dropped my car and myself off at the location I had asked to be towed to. All in all it probably took less than an hour from initial call to drop off.
Worthy of mentioning… you know how some towing companies have nasty cars and the employees look nasty too? Not the case here. Jamie’s truck looked brand new, and Jamie was dressed quite nicely to be towing my car.
It was just such a great experience! Thank you so much for getting my vehicle safely to my mechanics and making it so easy Jamie!!!

I called for a tow stuck on an on ramp during rush hour!
Ugh! Well I called extreme towing & the lady was super nice and sounded like she cared. They driver got there within 20 minutes and was very courteous and was just 100% professional!
I can see why these drivers and companies are supposedly «scamming» people but they do have a hard job & are seen as the bad guys due to laws & regulations.
All in all, these guys are great!!!

highway robbers, extortionists, and obese rude office staff, that literally answer you in grunts. I had an accident on bear creek road and the highway patrol called in a tow request after I told him my insurance company, so the guy comes loads my car tells and asks me nothing when I tell him I want the tow to santa cruz he tells me no unless i pay him 200 dollars cash i am like I have road side service so he says he can only take me to his yard in Milpitas! unless I pay him. So I say take my car off the truck and i will call geico and get my own tow he says no cannot unload the car and proceeds to drive me to Milpitas and keeps saying i will hook you up with a car rental, and a body shop when we do get there. The office staff barely talked to me and tells me that i have to arrange the rental and the geico pick up and they don’t know of any auto body shops near by. I get geico to come pick up the car and they drive me and my car to the auto body shop i wanted in the first place. Absolutely waste of 2 hours and they charged my insurance $ 200.00 to pick up my car that should have been towed from bear Creek road scene of the accident. I felt like I was being kidnapped I literally had no choice. Everybody at the tow yard was weird and creepy and rude never use extreme towing

Was run off the road today by Extreme Towing flatbed truck tried to call their office to inform that they have a dangerous driver on the road they hung up on me obviously they didn’t care that their Company is adding to the problems on the road Maybe they should not be doing this type of work

I had called in for a flatbed truck to tow my truck to the mechanic. A standard, non flatbed arrived. I asked if he can put the dollies on since it wasn’t a flatbed and he refused. He said he wasn’t told that a flatbed was requested and that if I didn’t use him I’d be thrown back into the queue, already waiting almost 2 hours I called my mechanic to ask his thoughts on the tow and he said to wait for the flatbed.
Thinking I may have some priority after having the wrong truck sent I called the tow company, they refused to send a flatbed and they told me to call someone else.

I am with Jimmy T, I never thought my first review on Unilocal would be a negative one. I use Unilocal on a regular basis and always tell myself I am going to go on and put good/​great comments, but never take the time.
In the case of Extreme Towing I think I need to take the time. Our VW was stranded at the Great Mall and VW roadside assistance assigned Extreme Towing to pick it up at the Great Mall and tow it to Captiol Volkswagen.
VW/​Extreme Towing gave us an ETA of 12:15, as we were coming from Morgan Hill I contacted Extreme Towing directly to ask if we could move the ETA to 12:30, I was told this would be fine. On our way to the Great Mall we were called by both VW and Extreme Towing to state they were on there way to the Great Mall. We explained to Extreme Towing that we were about 15 minutes away but would arrive before the agreed upon time of 12:30. We eventually showed up at 12:20 (5 minutes past their original ETA of 12:15) to find out that they refused to wait and left us stranded there.
When I called the office to question why the office had agreed to 12:30, but the driver wouldn’t wait, not even 5 minutes past their original ETA I was hung up on, not once not even twice, but three times.
While I understand the dispatchers have no control over the drivers the way to handle is to calm the customer not further upset the customer by hanging up on them.
I have contacted VW roadside assistance and suggested that they remove Extreme Towing from their vendor list, and I am not done complaining about this company.
In a time of social media and demand for customer service any company that would be so unprofessional as to hang up on a customer doesn’t even deserve to be in business.

So who would of thought that my first review ever on Unilocal would be a negative one? If I could seriously leave Extreme Towing negative stars I would.
My insurance scheduled a tow at 8:30am and they said they would be there between 9:30am to 10am. I wait around till 10:30. No show. Call dispatch. She tells me he’s on his way and should be there in 30mins. I say ok cause it is the weekend. Wait till 11:30am. Still no show. Call dispatch again. She tells me he’s still caught up with another tow and tells me to wait another hour. I tell her I guess I have no choice since I’ve already waited this long. I wait till 1pm and the guy still doesn’t show up! I call dispatch again and she tells me he forgot about me and is in Tracy now. WOW! Really? After 4.5 hrs of waiting and you forgot about me? What kind of company reschedules a tow 2 times and then forgets about the customer?
After dropping a hint that I would call my insurance, since they were the ones that scheduled the tow, she placed me on hold for 10 mins to try to fix the problem but couldn’t. She just told me, «sorry. Guess you got to call your insurance.» After over 4.5 hrs of waiting, they never even showed up. How great is that? :(

How strange that this place closes at 5pm and my car got towed from in front of my friends apartment in downtown San Jose at 9:30pm, resulting in an extra $ 85 «gate opening fee» to get my car out after hours.
The first call to Exteme Towing told me how much it was going to cost me to get my car and that I needed to go to the towing yard and wait for someone to come open the gate. I did that. No one was there and I had been waiting in a fairly dangerous area that was not well-​lit, after 10pm. I called again. They told me I was at the WRONG towing yard and my car was in MILPITAS.
Went to Milpitas. Finally the guy showed up and of course I didn’t have enough cash on me and he said he wasn’t sure if my credit card would work because it was after hours. Apparently he swiped my card THREE times and my card wasn’t working. I had to find an ATM in the middle of nowhere in Milpitas and withdraw $$$ go back to the yard and hope the guy was still there and pay him in cash. Which I did. Then I finally got my car back.
Next morning I see that my card was CHARGED THREE TIMES. I’m currently in the middle of trying to figure out how I’ll get the money back and will probably have to get a new card. All that on top of my car being wrongfully towed (which is a whole other review altogether)

Only giving one star because none is not an option!
Extreme Towing Santa Cruz office was chosen by BMW Roadside Assist to tow my car to the Steven’s Creek dealership. The driver was supposed to call the night before, as well as 15 – 20 minutes before arriving at the scheduled 7:30 pickup time. Well, 8:00 rolled around and I did not hear anything so I left my car in the driveway to be towed, but not before taking photos with my phone of all sides of the car. I AM GLAD I DID. Rather than the driver using the towing accessory that safely allows the vehicle to be pulled up on the tow truck, the driver attached a j-​hook to the aluminum suspension to winch up the car… which not only damaged the suspension, but also caused significant body damage from the winch cable.
I called to file a claim and have gotten the complete runaround. I have been ignored, they will not return my call, nor has the «manager» that was promised to call to investigate the claim ever called. An absolute nightmare. Stay away.

Worst customer service ever and very dishonest, my towing was set up through my insurance company. My insurance company covered my towing fees. I received a call from a women directly from towing company saying to have payment of 25 ready and if they should continue with the towing, I told her it was covered she just cut me off ‚“do you want us to continue or not.” By this time I was irritated of waiting did not want to wait any longer I said fine only to Waite another hour to receive a automated message saying my car was delivered when it wasn’t, called them back by this time it was a man he was polite but none the less advised me they have no records of my car being processed for pick up. Waist of time! Called my insurance explained they apologized and said they would tag this towing service and set up a different company for me because of this all in all I waited from 4 pm till 9:30 for my vehicle to be picked up. This review is long over due this happened last month still furious, consider your self warned.

One of their trucks almost hit two cars trying to merge because it was swerving in and out of traffic and speeding.

I have a few words for these guys thefts, CROOKS!, and no good piece of shits! my vehicle got stolen FOUR TIMES and these guys have found my car, all FOUR TIMES, that’s a little suspicious to me and I have to payed $ 400 dollars all FOUR TIMES for them to release my vehicle you know what I think. I think whats happening is they have a middle man go steal a vehicle for them AND when I mean «THEM» I mean EXTREME TOWING!, then EXTREME TOWING calls the owner of that vehicle that was stolen and makes up some BS story like «oh we found it down the street you can come get your vehicle it’s going to be $ 400 DOLLARS» and that people is how these towing company’s make money and stay in business so BE CAREFUL if you’re vehicle ends up at this dump shit of a towing company there CROOKS and now as for me am going to get a really good lawyer if my car gets stolen again and ends up anywhere near these shit hole to investigate and see if EXTREME TOWING is stealing cars them self to make money.

Not sure if this is an actual business or some sort of joke. Luckily the insurance company is going to reimburse my money. I’ve never been charged so much money for towing and I’ve lived in New York City. The day I go to pick up my vehicle I get an incredibly rude driver whom I end up having to repeat myself a million times to because he was too impatient to actually listen to a single sentence. Honestly, the prices were bad enough… but this guy just ruined the entire experience. If you want to get robbed and treated like dirt, by all means use extreme towing.

I was rescued off the side of the road… with my dead car and brought to the mechanic of my choice along with very polite customer service all in a very timely fashion. Yeah it was a little too expensive… but they took care of me and my car in a very professional manner, I would recommend their service to anyone.

I got my car towed from the freeway after getting a flat tire and leaving my car there overnight. I contacted the SJPD and CHP to find the whereabouts of my vehicle. CHP told me that Extreme Towing had my car and gave me the wrong address. So thumbs up to the CHP. CHP provided me with their number and I gave them a call. The woman told me that they had my vehicle and that I had to show proof of ownership or liability via insurance or ownership. So I came with my insurance. The woman told me the price and it was over $ 500 and that it was $ 55 per day to be in storage. Awesome. The price for their «service «was $ 180 for towing my car off the freeway. $ 200 release fee and $ 55 per night that it was there and some other stuff.
This place runs their business legitimately and yeah it was my fault for leaving my car their overnight but this is why I give them only 1 star. Well, for 2 reasons.
So the next day I had an exam around the time that they were closing so I finished up real quick and got out of class and called in and told them that I was on my way to pick up my car. So after driving from my campus all the way to their warehouse, I ended up 2 mins passed closing. I came running to their door huffing and gasping for air and they asked me «Can I help you with something? «I told them that I was here to pick up my car and pay the fee they told me «We’re closed. Come back tomorrow. «And another worker joined our convo and said «we can release it to you now but we’re going to charge you $ 80 release fee so you should just come pick it up tomorrow but we’re till going to charge you $ 55 for overnight. «That made me furious. Of course they wouldn’t give a crap if I came running to their door sweating and breathing heavily. Why would they? So I wanted to save $ 25 so I came back the next day and heres when they really pissed me off.
I came and paid my fees and the workers in the building were rude as hell. Talked hella loud to me as if I didn’t know English, spoke to their co-​workers and on the phone while talking to me which confused the hell out of me and raised their voice when I didn’t answer their questions. HOW the HELL am I supposed to know who you’re talking to lady !? So after paying my fees they told me «you have a flat. «I said that i knew and that I just wanted to get my car out. «I was planning on changing the tires outside after getting it released.
So after giving them ALL of my MONEY. I looked in their warehouse to see some guys changing my tires. I asked a worker «Oh, so you guys are doing it for me? «and I could not believe this. The worker says «Oh yeah, but we’re going to charge you $ 35 for it. «WHAT THE EFF !? You go on and change my tire without telling me and try and squeeze out $ 35 from me !? I HAVE NO MORE MONEY ! I told him that I had no money and he told his guys to stop changing it and they dragged it outside. Thanks for being Human.
If any of you people get towed, pray to god or what ever you believe in, that it is not these guys. I thought they were legit but actually being in the same room as them and seeing how they work. They are crooks.

EXTREME TOWING
In terms of storage space, this place should get 5 stars. It’s a giant warehouse and even has a rottweiler guard dog, so you know this place is safe. Unlike other towing places, this place was clean, so the cars are in safe place. Why it gets a 1 star is obviously because my car got towed!!! I’m just being bitter about it right now. The place has so many cars in «storage», they range from Camrys to Fords to limousines! This place reminds me of «Gone In 60 Seconds» because of the sheer number of cars inside! Oh yeah, and I hate that stinking $ 82 gate fee that they charge if come to pick up your car on the weekend, in addition to the $ 175 towing fee!

The only reason I’m giving these crooks 1 star is because there is no 0 star or negative star option.
I got my car towed from a private lot and the first problem was that there was no current number to reach the towing company. Luckily the business was still open and they gave me the information on how to contact Extreme Towing. The folks on the phone were pleasant enough if not terribly bright and quoted me the costs for picking my car up that night or the following morning. Since it was about $ 30 cheaper I told them I was going to pick my car up the next morning.
Early the next morning I get a call from a Daniel (I’m assuming Daniel Rodriguez, since his name was on a certificate in their office) telling me I was going to have to pay an additional $ 137 for a «gate fee» and an additional day of storage. I told Dan that his employees quoted me lower pricing and he said «Well, we’ll have a conversation when you get here.» Classy.
My fiancé drove me to their Auzerais location to pick up my car, and right away, Willy Alves the «general manager» starts to have a huge attitude as though I’ve insulted him somehow. He’s condescending, takes calls WHILE HE’S TALKING TO ME, and even starts talking to another customer literally in the middle of a sentence while speaking to me.
Then he tries to charge me an additional $ 82 (not $ 137 note, just $ 82) for a gate fee because his driver came out the night before and sat there until midnight because, according to Willy, «you kept calling him and harassing him over half a dozen times».
I explained to Mr. Alves that I did not call his «gate» guy and that he should check his phone logs because I explicitly said that I would be picking up my car the next day since it was cheaper. He checked his phone logs and saw that I was right.
The whole time Mr. Alves was hostile, taciturn, and rude. It took all my effort not to be rude and disrespectful back to him.
However, what made me complain on the Better Business Bureau website and to post this review on Unilocal!is because I called back Extreme Towing today to see if they had a «lost and found» section because I could not find my sunglasses in my car ($ 300 ReVo glasses). I had the great misfortune to once again speak with Mr. Willard Alves and this time he told me to «take me to small claims court» and «this conversation is over».
Well, you know what, Mr. Alves and Mr. Rodriguez, now the good people at Unilocal!know about your extortionate business practices and the Better Business Bureau has my complaint against you. I am also working with the business that uses you as their vendor to look for someone else who is less rude, condescending, and not a crook. As I said in my complaint to the BBB, I expect an apology to me and my fiancé for your unacceptable behavior and either my pair of sunglasses back or the $ 300 it will cost to replace them.
