They’re ok

I literally just stepped into the front door of my home and felt compelled to write this review because Moe did an amazing job towing our car from Palo Alto to San Ramon at this time of the night. To make a long story short, my husband and I blew out our tire on a pothole when we were exiting the freeway. We called our car company’s roadside assistance so they could call us a tow truck but they were having a difficult time finding someone who would drive us out of the area and all the way to San Ramon. We were getting worried cause most of the stores were closing in the area and we didn’t want to be stranded in the cold and without a good solution for our car. We definitely did not want to leave it where it was overnight.
It was our luck that Moe from H & R towing was available and agreed to pick us up in Palo Alto even though he was coming from San Jose, and then drive all the way out to San Ramon. Moe was so nice and assuring over the phone, the first thing he asked was if we were stopped in a safe place. Moe told us he would get to us as soon as he could. He estimated that it would take 45 minutes, and he arrived in 44 minutes. Moe even called us when he was 20 minutes away just so we knew he was close by. Moe really knows what he is doing, he made sure that the bottom of our car didn’t scrape the flat bed as it loaded onto his truck. He talked to my husband in a calm manner and gave him really good, clear verbal directions on what to do to get our car onto his truck safely. He was constantly walking around analyzing the situation and kept adding or subtracting wooden blocks so that our car can be driven onto the flat bed safely since our car is pretty low to the ground.
Once our car was on the truck Moe needed to secure our car but instead of hooking it on like they normally do, he used his knowledge and expertise to determine that it would not be good for our wheels. Instead he secured them using a different method with straps to protect our aluminum wheels. Our car did not move one bit during the entire ride since Moe secured it properly. He even pulled over halfway to the destination just to make sure that everything remained as tight as it should be. Rides with tow truck drivers can be awkward but not with Moe! He has a great personality and since he is such a kind man we ended up talking the whole way. He’s a really awesome guy who knows what he is doing. Thanks to him we felt like our car was in good hands.
I highly recommend H & R Towing, I definitely know who to call if we ever need any towing services in the future! Thank you again Moe for the perfect service!

This is a long overdue review but the experience still stuck out in my mind. I’ve kept H & R Towing website tab opened in my window so I won’t forget to write this review.
This review is strictly for the «We Pay Cash for Junk Cars» portion. I have never used their towing services yet.
I had a very similar experience as posted by Eric F. from Santa Clara. I called H & R Towing and was connected to Moe. The first phone call was pleasant and Moe was friendly. He quoted me $ 350.00 for my car. I told him I will call him back tomorrow to confirm the pick up time (I wanted to shop around for pricing first).
I had a quote from Pick N Pull for $ 375.00 but they wouldn’t be able to pick up my car until 3 days out. I wanted to support local businesses and had my mind made up on having Moe take the job (plus I wouldn’t have to wait until the weekend since Moe was available now). I called Moe back the next day and reminded him of our discussion. Moe told me that he remembers my phone call and the details of my car. When I tried to confirm the price he quoted, he said the price is now $ 200.00. I asked him why the change in price. He said that he never quoted $ 350.00 even though I recorded the price down while I had him on the first call. He said I must have remembered wrong or misheard despite him repeating $ 350.00 more than several times on the first phone call.
I politely declined his offer and that’s when Moe changed his tone. He started to sound aggressive and rude. So I told him that Pick N Pull offered me $ 375.00 but the only reason I called him back was because I didn’t want to wait 3 days if I could get it done now. Moe said that there’s no way Pick N Pull would give me $ 375.00. He then started rushing and hustling me saying that he can come to my location now to pick up the car, $ 200.00 cash in hand. I politely declined again, stating that the price was too low. Moe started coming up with excuses. He said that he picked up the same exact make, year and model of my car just 2 days ago and it only went for $ 150.00 at the junkyard. So I asked him, why would you offer me $ 200.00 if you can only make $ 150.00 yourself? He deflected the questioning and said that he hurt his back today and that he’ll be going out of his way to come pick up my car so he’s doing me a favor. By now, I was put off by this man’s excuses and lies. I told him that I would rather wait 3 days for the $ 375.00 and I thanked him for taking the time to speak with me. Moe tried hustling me again saying that he’s ready to pick up my car now, that he’s on his way and he has cash right now, I just need to give him my address. I declined, thanked him and hung up the phone.
This was an utter waste of my time and a negative customer experience. I would have let Moe have my business if he didn’t go back on his word and then started making up excuses and lies when confronted with facts. After 3 days, Pick N Pull showed up. I signed paperwork and accepted a pre-​printed check for $ 375.00. No hassle! I inadvertently posted a positive review for Pick N Pull.
tl;dr = Bottomline. Moe break promises. Moe lies and hustles. Moe makes babies cry. Moe money Moe problems. Beware and stay away if you’re trying to sell your car for cash. Pick N Pull much better.

Two weeks ago I needed a towing at night, everything was pretty much closed, I search Unilocal,filter by locality and found H&R and Moe, he told me he was about to leave, but could do this last towing for the day. Basically, since that day Moe towed my car again to the car-​shop. Besides that, he went beyond the towing, he asked if he could help and if it would be ok for me. I said ok, he brought the mechanic in the other day, by the way the mechanic is excellent too, also great price, they confirmed my suspicions and Moe too. I needed to change the engine.
He also offered to help solve the engine. In my opinion if you need a car broker to help you find even a car, call Moe, he definitely can help even with that. I’m saying that, because he knows the trustworthy mechanics and the most trustworthy car shops and repair shops.
So, not only was the best towing experience so far, he also went beyond his towing service to help me all the way. He is a very trustworthy person, very straight, clear and the price is excellent. So he is worthy from the simple towing to a consulting service to find a car (in my opinion), to find the best sources of mechanics and repair shops in San Jose and region.

Moe answered the phone first call and gave me an approximate time of 45 – 60 minutes. He called me back within that time letting me know he was just a few minutes away. I’ve been trying to communicate with other Tow companies all morning and he was the few that actually pulled through… Much appreciated!

Mo was extremely kind and helpful when I needed my car towed. He was honest and did not try to scam me. Would recommend for sure!

Not knowing I had a gas filter problem I assumed my car had a major breakdown. I tried gas, jumping battery but to no luck I found my self stranded. So waiting a few minutes a tow truck pulled up and came to a much needed lift. What timing! The gentleman’s name was Moe from H&R towing! What an enthusiastic Gentleman. And very helpful! Thanks H&R towing! I only wished we could have tried more gas from the start before we towed my car. That was the fix just more gas. «Should have could have».

A few months have passed but I promised the owner of this service I’d give him a good review because he was amazingly humble and gave me a good deal for the mount of travel he had to do from my residence to my body shop. So here goes…
I found H&H and they were more than willing to beat the price of other companies in the area. My car is a lowered IS300 with a body kit but the driver somehow used two platforms to safely get my car onto the bed. While on. Our way to the body shop I notice the inside wasn’t exactly the cleanest, but being the understanding person I am I didn’t mind. The owner/​driver was friendly and opened up quickly telling me stories about his family including his daughter that is a college student and his grandchildren. Very trustworthy and affordable service. I would recommend him to anyone who doesn’t mind a little grease on the dashboard.

This is a good company. I locked my keys in my car and Moe came out and fixed my problem. He didn’t use any jimmie bars but used a couple of other tools to get me in. Price was way less than another company I call. Will use them again if I ever need a tow, as I hope I never again leave my keys in the ignition and then lock up (Doh!!!).

Car did not start, needed a tow to dealership. It was the best towing experience ever. 30 years of experience. Very professional. Quick response. Attention to details. I even got a ride back to my house. I would trust my car anytime. Would definitely recommend to all.

My garaged, classic weekend car wouldn’t start one morning, so I made an appointment for the next morning with H&R. He called on his way, arrived on time, and spent a lot of effort to make sure the car didn’t get damaged getting put on the truck. He had a custom-​made hook that allowed to to avoid touching the rack and pinion assembly.
Followed him to the repair show, and all was good. The price was reasonable to boot.

I have dealer ship in san jose and I work with this company for last 6 years and I am very happy to work with this company, good price, fast service I liked.
