iSee Optometry

I’ve been going to Dr. Lam Votran for about 2 years now and I’ve been satisfied with my every visit! It’s a small, clean office with friendly and helpful receptionists. They accept Medi-​Cal so that was a plus for me. Also, he never has a problem answering any of my questions, even when I have so much to ask. Overall, a very helpful doctor who truly cares about his patients, making every trip to the eye doctor a pleasant one :)

Dr. Votran and the receptionist are very nice and friendly people. I would agree to some of the reviews on here in the sense that it takes time for them to get contacts/​glasses ordered, but I think that the service makes up for that. I feel like I am part of the iSee Optometry family every time I visit because they make sure to take care of me.

Booked my first appointment here for an eye exam. Show up early to my appointment. There’s a sign on the door that they closed early due to a staff meeting. WELL THEN SHOULDNT YOU HAVE CALLED ME TO RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT? I didn’t receive any calls or messages from this place to change my appointment. They are an extremely unprofessional office and I won’t be going here again. I had to leave work early (meaning I get paid less) and drive all the way over there (ghetto part of town) just so I can read a damn sign that they were having a staff meeting. Maybe they are going out of business because of their horrible service? My advice is to find someplace that actually cares about who is keeping them in business.

My wife and I came here for a routine eye test. The doctor, Dr. Lam is really good. He conducts the test in a methodical fashion. He is friendly and reassuring. He explained what he was testing and finding. We came out feeling better informed about the health of our eyes. I would definitely come back here.

My girlfriend and I had a great experience at iSee. I was researching for months and wanted new glasses to replace my outdated ones. Finally we stopped by iSee, the staff was very helpful, gave tons of good advice and had lots of patience (while we tried on nearly all their glasses). We both saw Dr. Lam, he was great! Very knowledgeable, honest and overall super nice guy. I ended up buying 2 glasses one for work and one for everyday use. I love my new glasses and have been complimented on them several times. My girlfriend picked up a pair of Dolce Gabbana glasses. The glasses arrived a few days later and the staff helped us throughout the entire process. I highly recommend iSee and will go there for our next glasses update!

The doctor is really nice and does give thorough exam. However the service is horrible. I ordered my contacts, and they told me it would take a week. Two weeks passed by and haven’t heard a call. I called them to check and they said they arrived and are ready for pick up. 1800 Contacts only takes three days, and they’re at your front door. I’m not sure if they really take that long to process the order for isee or they just forgot to call. This would be my last order…

Terrible service. My wife went to get her eyes examined in March … barely received her prescription in May. They gave us the run around, said they’d call back — never did. Dr. Lam needs to concentrate on one location — he’s never there. Great place if your Vietnamese — look at the reviews! Do not recommend if you are NOT asian.

Thorough Dr but the service is HORRIBLE! they said they would have my husbands glasses in within 2 – 3 weeks and they would give us a courtesy to let us know it’s ready for pick up (which they never called, we had to call them) so I go in there to pick it up and they said they lost his glasses! Smh… Then they said they would reorder the pair he wanted which would take another ²⁄₃ weeks to arrive. Well when it came time to pick them up they ordered the wrong pair! Long story short… They offered to reorder the correct pair (again) but by his time we were done dealing with them so we have them their shitty glasses back and demanded a refund. This place is affordable with their 2 pair of glasses for $ 150 but to have to deal with all the inconvenience is just not worth it. But I guess going there, u get why u pay for.
Not to mention they post their hours of operation but if u call they hardly answer so you’ll end up getting a recording. Worst experience and I wouldn’t recommend the place.

So I was looking for a new optometrist because I felt like my old one wasn’t very thorough on any of my visits. I called isee optometry and requested to be seen as soon as possible because I needed a new pair of glasses for the new school semester. Lucky me! They were able to see me that same day! When I got to the office it was very nice and clean and the assistant was friendly. The Dr. Came out shortly after, introduced himself, and took me to the exam room. The exam itself was quick and he explained everything he did very well. He also answered all the questions I had and explained them to the best of his ability which was nice because I did not get that from my past optometrists. Once I was done, the doctor walked me out to the front office and allowed the front office assistant to help me on picking the most suitable frame for me. While the lady was assisting me, I felt like I received the best customer service ever. She was taking her time and I could tell she wasn’t trying to just make money. I felt like they actually care about their patients. The woman helped pick a cute name brand (but economic) frame. They are great with their customers and not overpriced at all! I’m happy I made the choice to come to this optometry office and I will continue to come to this office for my yearly eye exams. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new optometrist. They are beyond great!

As the end of the year approached, I decided to take advantage of my vision insurance while on vacation in San Jose. I called in last minute as they were closing early for the new year, but they were friendly and nice enough to squeeze me in last minute with Dr. Votran. Dr. Votran was quick, but thorough when answering my questions after my eye exam. This was quite a surprise since most optometrists I’ve visited in the past never really asked me if I had any questions. hm…
Anyway, I did not see too many glasses in their collection, but I did find a nice pair of Raybans for my trip back south. Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Dr. Votran and the friendly staff. I will be coming here again in the future.

Save your time I came in and waited 30 min to be helped just to be passed on to three different workers. Then I had to wait another 10 min because they couldn’t find the keys to open up any of the displays

UPDATE: So, I called them on Friday to check the status of my glasses and i was told… «Oh, we called you on Monday but there was no answer.» I replied with… «That’s funy because I didn’t get a voicemail.» Them… «Oh, we didn’t leave a message». Scratching my head here. So, I just got my glasses and got the hell out. Only to find out that my glasses were incorrect. They were supposed to be transition lenses and they are in fact not. Dude… totally done with this place. But, at least theyre really nice. Gotta be good for something, I guess.

Thorough doctor who was friendly and engaging. The staff was wonderful as well. I picked the frames I had been looking for, and they arrived within a week.

Awesome staff at this optometry. Everyone is friendly and knowledgable. Dr. Vo Tran is very caring about his patients. When choosing our eyewear, my brother and I wasn’t rushed at all like other optometries do. We were given advice as to which frames fits us best. Overall, great experience and location for me.

I drove passed by and went in for my first visit at iSee Optometry. Dr. Vo tran is absolutely amazing and I enjoy working with him throughout the process. I’m pretty indecisive with the frame selection so he’ll use his time to help pick out the glasses that suits me. After a week later, I was informed that my glasses came in. The prescription I received fits me perfectly. Thanks to Dr. Vo tran who made me feel confident and listens to my concerns!

First off.Dr. Votran is seriously the most laid-​back, knowledgeable, and approachable optometrists, ever. Not pushy nor tried to persuade you buy the most expensive frame like other optometrists I have been to, but he actually takes the time to help you pick a frame that fits well with your face.
Throughout the exam Dr. Votran walked me through with everything he’s doing so I’m not blindsided with like an air puff test and goes into a cardiac arrhythmia (HATES that feeling.)
Although there are always people coming in & out (must be the current deal– exam, lens, and frame all for 99 $) Dr. Votran never rushed the examination/​questioning.
Overall, great experience, clean & spacious office, and plenty of parking.

I just received my glasses yesterday. I enjoyed my visit at ISee Optometry. Dr. Votran took his time examining my eyes and able to fix my prescription that I previously received from Costco. Now I everything was much clearer with my new glasses. The sales lady was patient and helpful as she walked me through many different pairs of glasses. I ended up purchasing 3 pairs. 1 prescription and 2 pairs sunglasses. Thank for the awesome service!

Dr. Votran is one of the most awesome optometrists I’ve ever seen.

They didn’t have it in stock but Dr. Votran said they look amazing, I trusted his expertise and WAS NOT disappointed.

I can’t even remember the last time I had an eye exam so I was a little nervous going in. I called and made an appointment easily. When I got there I found that front staff was very warm and friendly just like the optometrist! Dr. Votran is very nice and caring. I had nothing to worry about because the Dr. Votran explained everything he did during the exam and makes it so you can ask him any questions that you might have. There was also a great selection of glasses and sunglasses! I left with one of each. I would recommend Dr. Votran to my family and friends and anyone who needs a great eye exam from a knowledgeable and professional staff.

Awesome place. Dr. VoTran is very friendly and professional — gave me 110% of his attention the whole time and even helped me pick out my new pair of glasses. Doesn’t hurt that the office is brand spanking new!
