YUCK! I went here after finding out that this has been around longer than Coldstone’s. I hate Coldstone’s but I thought maybe. just maybe this would be better. Either Coldstone’s did a really good job copying them or there is a reason why Coldstone’s is so much more popular. It just looked and gave that feel of a place that’s inferior to it’s competitor. They were out of birthday cake ice cream or what ever that is called. I substituted it with sweet cream and got one of their original creations that comes with cookie dough and oreos. It tasted so bad but since it was my idea to go here and since i picked the creation, I ate it even though I hated it. With in 5 min I wanted to throw up and my stomach started turning. It was that nasty.

Marble Slab Creamery is the place I go when I crave ice cream. I don’t keep ice cream in the house, so when I do go to Marble Slab, it’s a special treat for me. I love the Sweet Cream flavor mixed in with strawberries. Their sundaes are quite delicious and the serving is generous. The ice cream is indeed creamy and the mix-ins are just the right portion to accent the ice cream. During the day, I usually see an older gentleman serving the ice cream. He always has a friendly smile on his face when I go in. The kids who work there have also been polite and courteous. Care is given to each customer(even when the line is long) to make sure everything is prepared correctly and everyone leaves happy. Since several reviews make comparison to Cold Stone, I will add that I don’t eat Cold Stone. It is just way too sweet and makes me shake when I eat it. I don’t have this problem with Marble Slab which is good because eating ice cream should be a pleasure.

I tried Marble Slab for the first time last weekend, knowing that it works pretty much the same as Cold Stone’s. I like Cold Stone Creamery Better. This store was not very organized. Mix-ins are scattered all over the place– in a back corner, next to the register, it wasn’t very easy to see what kind of creations were possible. They listed a few of their own on the wall menu, without any prices. Are they priced specially? Or are they at regular price. Speaking of prices, they seemed pretty expensive. It was over 4 dollars for their small size, and another 75 cents or so gets the large size. The seating inside was full, so we sat outside, at a table with melted ice cream on it and on the seats of the chairs. We also had to put up with 2 kids standing at the door trying to get their friend who was working there to notice them, so that they could make fun of him because he was working. Their ice cream was incredibly stiff. I had double dark chocolate with Crunch bar pieces. I have no idea how the girl working there was able to mix it, as I could barely get the plastic spoon to scrape some ice cream out of my cup without the spoon bending to the point I thought it would snap at any second. Mix-in quantity was alright. I can’t complain about that. The selection of flavors seemed pretty minimal– sweet cream, 2 chocolates, a coffee flavor, birthday cake, some fruit flavors. I found myself just trying to come up with something that sounded good, rather than having to pick amongst many good options. Overall, I was disappointed.

Something from L.A. I guess from everyone’s reviews it’s an acquired taste? I guess some people prefer Spam to ham :) Cold Stone’s is actually derived from Marble Slab. When Marble Slab refused to sell, the generic Cold Stone’s dynasty was created. I’m just not a fan of Cold Stone’s because there is simply nothing like the real thing. Since Marble Slabs are unique and elite, they generally spend much more time creating flavors than mixed concoctions. In other words, there’s no need for toppings with your Honey flavored ice cream, but you have a plethora of mixing options. Mmmm…honey…

I like this place a lot. I’m with a few of the others on here– I don’t know why it has such low reviews. I’d say it’s better than Cold Stone. Some of their flavors are actually good enough — dare I say it???- to have WITHOUTANYMIX-INS. I mostly like it because it’s just a little bit different, and I like that. Never had a problem with customer service here. Price-wise I think it’s pretty much the same as Cold Stone.

BOOOO. I should have gone to Cold Stone. I was charged $ 5 dollars for something that would have cost me $ 3 bucks at cold stone. Maybe my attendant was new, but I told her I wanted something like birthday cake remix. Of course I did not expect her to know what that was… but I told her it had vanilla type ice cream, yellow cake, sprinkles, and hot chocolate. She ended up looking at me lost… and said that I needed to create something by adding flavors. I had vanilla, sprinkles, caramel(is that chocolate, no!) and waffle pieces. It was okay, but certainly not worth the price. Sorry Marble Slab, the allure has left the building in 3…2…1… NOW.

ok i don’t know what’s with the low reviews for this place because i love it! it’s a million times better than coldstone! my favorite is the pink bubblegum ice cream with gummy bears mixed in!!! sometimes i just buy a pint of the bubblegum too because it’s so good! very smooth and creamy and not a fake bubblegum flavor. prices are a bit high but if you buy a pint of the ice cream you want, it’s cheaper. they also make milkshakes and ice cream cakes. the employees here are really nice too!

I think the ice cream here is good? Okay at least. Not spectactular but a good treat when it’s hot. I haven’t gotten a lot of mixes but I love their key lime ice cream mixed with grahamn cracker crumbles. I’ve seen the chocolate. it doesn’t look that appetizing. I can relate to Barb’s review about it looking overly creamy and gooey. Kind of like when ice cream or sorbet freezes strangely in your freezer. As for toppings, they do seem to give you not as much as Coldstone’s. The service is sometimes poor. I think it’s family owned with high school girls who think they’re too cool working the cash register. I dislike how their stamp card(I think it’s buy 5 get 1 free) expires!!! I’d pick Coldstone’s over this but not BR.

I was surprised to see the other reviews for this place because my experience was so completely the opposite of their experience. I actually found the ice creams to be wonderful! Light and airy, I found them to be more like gelato than ice cream. In particular, their chocolate-based flavors were delicate and tasty, more like European-style confections than the overly sweet American versions. They weren’t as generous with the toppings as some of the other mix-in ice cream places but the better quality base was worth it.

Their ice cream has the consistency of pulled taffy. Must put a lot of seaweed filler in it. Taste was BLAH. Like overly creamy, gooey, carmelized rubber with flavoring. Good old Baskin-Robbins in Campbell is better, and cheaper. ANd if you feel like a lazy lardo for ice cream, baskin r has a drive through!

This store is a little skimpy on the toppings when they mix the ice cream. I had to ask the girl to add some more. The ice cream here isn’t as good as coldstone. They had this huge poster advertising a special mix. When I asked for it, they didn’t even have the main ingredient which was coconut. boooo… So I had to ask for a substitution. I chose cherries. The cherries were kind of rotten grap-ie tasting. I was expecting maraschino cherries.
