Established in 1996.

Mr. Tint first opened in 1986 and now has two locations in San Jose, on Kiely Boulevard and Montague Expressway, to better serve our customers! Got my 3 series in the same day (they squeezed me in because my appointment and another place fell through… the owner didn’t show up). Work was done on all side windows and back in a few hours and car was clean after. Pricing was on par as well, appreciate the extra care taken to keep my car clean.

I got my window tinted here years ago and it was the easiest thing and they did a perfect job. This past Christmas, I got my boyfriend a GC so that he could get his windows tinted as well. The guy who helped me was really responsive and super quick with the whole transaction. Gave me a quick quote based on the year, make, and model of the car. My boyfriend loved the gift! Car window tinting is just one of those things that you want to get but don’t want to pay for. Lol. But anyways, everything went real smooth and I’m sure when my boyfriend gets around to making his appointment, it’ll be just as painless.

Customer service at desk… Horrible! A young girl works the desk, answers the phone is the first person you see when you come to the business. I had a gift card, made an appointment. Came today and right from the start the girl was rude to me and then to my boyfriend. She was consistent about it too. We asked for the manager, whom was a middle aged Asian man who was wonderful, kind AND well mannered. I am disappointed in the business and if I didn’t have the gift card, i would’ve walked out. My boyfriend had previous experience with this store and he said that his experience was fine. I have to say that when I picked up the car she was «normal». I was not looking forward to seeing her again. My expectation of her was to not argue with me, to listen to what I have to say, clarify what you don’t understand… Ask your boss if you still don’t understand. After giving the customer attitude don’t say to the customer who is then very irritated with you, to stop giving you attitude. I expected manners from you. Who gets the blame for that? You– you’re an adult– barely. Your boss– for screwing his business with having you working with new customers. Your parents– for raising a brat who never taught you manners.
Aside from this, get rid of the girl and then I’d recommend the business. They were quick, job looks good, the manager was very kind and helpful and apologetic.

Poor customer service and workmanship. Took my Bmw 435i convertible here and regret it. Waste of money and time. Recommend researching alternatives and going with a higher quality provider if you care for fit and finish.
Total was $ 275 for a convertible. Was able to get it done at another popular San Jose tint place for $ 190. Was able to get it done cheaper and with higher quality by shopping around. Don’t make the same mistake I did and not shop around.

My fiancé bought himself a new sparkling F-​type and it desperately needed tinting. I stopped by on a whim to check the place out and saw the massive operation they had going. The pricing was very reasonable and they had several calendar openings that worked with our schedule. When we dropped the car off the following work in the morning, Mr. Tint finished the car in just a few hours and it looked amazing.
If you need tinting — don’t look further, this is where you should go.

Got a fast reply via email on a quote to get my windows tinted.
Only took a couple of hours for them to finish.
Extremely nice customer service.
They even mailed me a Thank You card, on the front of the card was a photo of my car after it was tinted!
I felt like a valued customer with them and recommend them to anyone looking to get their windows tinted.
It’s been 1 year so far and haven’t had a single problem.

Excellent experience with the crew at Mr. Tint! I bought a new ‘used’ car on Saturday about 1PM and needed to get it tinted (for my 2 year old daughter first and foremost, and also for the black leather). I reached out to Mr. Tint about 230PM, rec’d a quote from Evelyn in less than an hour, broke down by options (qty of windows) as well as the mention of a groupon special. I wanted the special so I called back to try and set up an appt for Sunday (wishful thinking) but I had missed them — but I did leave a VM expressing my interest in a Sunday appt.
Fast forward to 10AM Sunday morning — Daniel calls, says the had space available and to go ahead and bring it by. Jason checked me in, helped me pick the shades and I was off. Came back to pick it up the ride late in the afternoon and it was all dialed in. Excellent customer service from start to finish to followup.

—- Basically, if you don’t want to read, pay that extra money to get a quality job. Not too cheap where you’re doubting the service. And not too pricey where it hurts your wallet. Terry will take care of you.
Went on their site for an Instant Quote. Few hours later, received an email from a representative, Evelyn stating their starting offers. Evelyn kept me updated and next thing you know, I was in for an appointment on the day I preferred.
Appointment was scheduled at Noon. There were plenty of cars already being worked on. Terry then walked me through the whole process and guided me on any questions I had. I was unsure of visibility at night with the 13% and 22% but I went with his suggestions and loved the result.
Ended up getting a 13% tint on my rear 3 Windows on top of my current tint (now a double layer 13%). 22% on my front two windows and a 13% for my windshield strip.
I love the results. Nothing more to it. Terry was a a great and friendly guy. Welcoming approach.
Highly recommended.

Ugh. I’m really having a hard time giving this place a rating.
On one hand, the owner is super nice, and do want to make things right once (if) they go wrong.
On the other, things did go terribly wrong at this place.
TL;DR:
5 stars on the actual tint
4 stars on the owner’s response
1 star on how not careful these guys are when applying the tint.
Long story:
I had both my macan and my girlfriend’s mini tinted here. Everything for the mini went off without a hitch. For my macan though, they managed to burn the b pillar plastic covering during the heating process, on both sides of my front driver windows.
Now, the b pillar (the plastic frame between your front and back windows) is a pretty common piece present on a lot of cars. So the fact they were able to burn it is quite beyond me. You would think they have done this a million times and have standard procedures on protecting the actual car itself while work is being done on it…
I was originally told it would be a 3 hour wait for the tint, I called them 3 hours later they said they had some issues and is reapplying the tint, would take 30 more minutes. 30minutes later still no one called me back. I decided to drive by and just wait there. Long and behold, this had happened to my car. They assured me new parts have already been ordered, and they will make another appointment to take care of everything once its in.
I came back in about a week. Though they did order in the new parts, i realized they basically have to take apart my front driver and passenger side doors apart to get them installed… So there I was, standing there watching some tint guys take apart the doors on my $ 80k car. Fast forward 30 minutes, the b pillars have been replaced, but now they have scratched the vinyl wrapping on my both side of my doors during the process…
Now they were NOT big scratches. They were tiny cuts near the edges where the vinyl wrapped around the door. But again, this is a 3 months old, $ 80k car now with cuts on the interior vinyl, all from trying to get my windows tinted.
I pointed them out, the owner came by and promised me this would be sorted out with a professional interior detailer this time. About 2 weeks later, I was scheduled with a repair guy (who was great BTW) and fixed everything up. And through talking to him, i realized this isn’t the first time he have been called on for interior repair jobs for mr.tint. So go figure.
All in all… What can i say??? The tint is great on both of our cars. And i get it, shit does happen sometimes. But if the guys working on the car were a little more careful, and had proper protection procedures when they were working on the car, ALL this could’ve been avoided.

It should not take 3 visits to make things right. On my way back to the third I decided not to go and call in. This time I spoke with the owner directly. Although the staff were pleasant and emphatic and wanted to do right, I was not convinced and lost confidence in their workmanship.
They returned my car with scuff marks on the edges of the frame, left water solution marks all over the inside and pieces of film all over my car. Quite messy Waited 14days 2x and the job was done in a sloppy fashion and had bubbles everywhere in clusters.
Why would I want to take it back the 3rd time and inconvenience myself? So they can do worse and make more mess? The owner was great talking to and listen to me. Unfortunately I can’t trust their work and the staff. I paid in cash to save tax. I didn’t even ask for refund or given the option. Professionals shouldn’t take 3 attempts and really bad that I have two cars that have better job tinting. They can keep the $ 300 for the messy trouble. I will be taking it for detail and have it taken off. So embarrassing and frustrating that they could not deliver what they promise.

I’m back again. Got a new ride and had to get it tinted the first week. I just can’t drive a car without tinted windows. I feel like I’m getting baked alive!
So, these guys rocked it again! 50% in fronts and 15% on the back 3. Came out perfect as expected.
I’ll see you soon. Got a truck thats just screaming for tint. I’ll let you guys do what you do best.

Upgraded their rating because of a call from the owner. It turns out that there was a series of miscommunications between the body shop we were using and Mr Tint. Upon return from his trip the owner has pledged to work out a formalized process with the body shop so they have a standard to go by and avoid these types of miscommunications.
The owner even made good on the confusion with the one extra piece of work that that my wife requested, so we are now happy that Mr Tint stands behind their work.
Once we did get our car in there, it was completed in the same day (there was a lot of work) the work looks good (I don’t see any bubbles or wrinkles) and all the pieces that should have been installed were installed. It looks professional and I will keep an eye on it, as I always do wth all vendors, over time to see how it holds up.
I’m now recommending Mr Tint, for being honorable and correcting a human misunderstanding that he could have simply ignored. Give him a try and let us know what you think.

I had a very good experience and I am loving my new tint! I just got my car tinted all around (40% — front, 20% — back). I made an appointment for 9:30am yesterday and they called me at 8:45am to confirm my appointment and apologized for calling so early in the morning and for not calling sooner. It was no biggie because I was up already and I appreciate the courtesy. I showed up to a full parking lot (oh boy.), so I double parked in front of their garage and hoped nobody gets angry.
Terry was very helpful, professional, and very easy to talk to. He was so easy to talk to that I forgot to mention the Unilocal 10% off deal! DOH!!! Terry explained that the price I was quoted over the phone was for the non ceramic tint. The ceramic tint was going to cost me $ 200 more. I was disappointed, but after he showed me the heat reducing differences with this handy dandy heat lamp, I was convinced that the extra expense is worth it esp with the lifetime warranty.
I was given a 3 hour timeframe, but I got a call at 2:20pm that my car was completed. Again Terry was courteous and apologized for getting sidetracked and calling late, but it was not a big deal since I wasn’t in a rush and again I appreciated the gesture. Terry gave me a short list of don’ts for the next few days and explained that the remaining moisture/​bubbles will work their way out with the heat of the sun for the next two weeks. I couldn’t find any to begin with but the lifetime warranty is definitely great for any future defects. Overall, I am a very satisfied customer, I can’t stop admiring my car, and I will definitely recommend them to friends. You can pay in cash for a discount. Although I regret not mentioning Unilocal for a bigger discount. Don’t forget to mention Unilocal people!

I wish Unilocal had 6 stars for these guys. For 2015, I got a brand new car. I discovered Mr. Tint from Unilocal and many friends who all have had good experiences. It was an easy decision for a girl who does not know anything remotely close to this subject!
Great customer service off the bat. They provided options and had good advice. I was expecting 2 – 3 hours for all the windows (except the front of course). It was quicker! The lines are flawless and yay, no bubbles like those ghetto-​meet-​you-​at-​home guys.
Spend the extra buck to go to a professional, you won’t regret! PS. They also made sure I didn’t accidentally roll down my windows… great!
