I came in experiencing some vision symptoms, streaks when things moved in low-light. He didn’t listen very well or try to understand what I was talking about. I told him I was worried about glaucoma or some other kind of vision issue related to my medication. He dismissed my worries, saying that I shouldn’t read things on the internet. I don’t see how else I’m supposed to figure out what’s wrong with me, since I’ve had too much experience with doctors like him who don’t listen. I think patients need to do research and ask questions. Apparently he doesn’t like that. He also basically called me a liar, which I really didn’t appreciate. I told him that I was seeing the streaks even with one eye closed. He flatly said«I don’t believe that.» I don’t know what reason I would have to lie. I wasn’t asking for drugs or a workers comp note. I just wanted to find out if something was wrong with my eyes. Excuse the heck out of me. After that, he basically didn’t listen to me anymore and I didn’t really want to talk, either. He did a bunch of tests, all of which came out normal. He then made me come back another day for another test, which didn’t even require him being in the room. I actually had to wait for him to come back, since he was dealing with another patient, so he could re-set the machine for my other eye, then again to print out the results. There was no reason he couldn’t have done that test the first day I was there. I think he did that so he could charge me and my insurance company extra. The only reason I did come back was on the off-chance there was something wrong with my eyes that this test would show and I didn’t want to have to go to another doctor and have all of this repeated all over again. The problem turned out to be a side-effect of my medication(I later found out it’s called Palinopsia), which he had dismissed as a possibility, but at least I had the peace-of-mind that my eyes were okay. Although I wish I had gone to someone else. I also asked if they could replace the screw on my glasses, since I lost it and was walking around with a safety pin holding the arm on. The woman at the front desk said they didn’t have any spare screws. While I was waiting for my eyes to dilate, I went and looked around at the glasses they had(since it had been over a year since I got new glasses). The selection was very limited and they were ridiculously over-priced. The woman was very rude and pushy. I wanted to look at the glasses on my own, but she kept butting in, handing ones to me. I told her that I didn’t really like them because they were too wide for my face, so they made me look kind of cross-eyed. She said that they were all like that because that was the style. I wasn’t about to spend $ 400 on a pair of glasses that I didn’t even like. Heck, I wouldn’t spend that on ones I loved! I finally told her I wasn’t ready to make a purchase and that I’d have to come back. I ended up going to the eyeglass repair place on Bascom and having the screw replaced for $ 5. I’ll put that part in the«win» column. Bottom line: in my opinion, this guy is a greedy jerk and I would never set foot in his office again.
