Boulder Ridge Golf Club is a very beautiful venue for wedding. We had our wedding there in July. It was a very nice wedding. The evening and night scene looking down the valley was super beautiful and all our guests were amazed by the views.
Stephanie who is the event coordinator at BRGC was excellent. She is very organized, professional, and patient in answering all our questions. The food and wine at BRGC were also very good, and tasting event was lots of fun too. All the staffs at BRGC were very friendly and assisted us in any way they could for our needs. I highly recommend this place for wedding as it has a beautiful venue, professional event coordinator, great food, and friendly staffs! All our guests enjoyed the wedding and same for my wife and I ! Thanks again to Stephanie and the staffs at BRGC.

I had my lovely wedding here 8÷15÷15. Working with Stephanie on my wedding details was such a breeze. She was so sweet, accommodating and professional. My husband and I loved our very special day as well as our family and guests. I didn’t give this venue five stars only b/​c of the following: 1) my signature drink was made with the wrong alcohol. I made it a point to be very specific about the ingredients due to the need for the color to be blush and this was quite disappointing that it was not the correct alcohol ordered. I even had chalkboards made that displayed the drink names and ingredients so that was a let down that it didn’t match and especially for pictures. However the bartenders (wish I had names were awesome!). 2) the night before I went up to the pavilion to view the room which was already being decorated. I noticed the two fake trees next to the fireplace. I asked that they be removed and the woman (not Stephanie) said she would take care of that but come the next day they were still there. I know it’s a small thing but with everything I bought as far as decorations, the trees would not factor in with my shabby chic/​elegant theme. I even had some pictures taken off the walls b/​c I wasn’t a fan of some of them. 3) I noticed and heard for a couple people that some plates carrying the filet mignon were quite rare and since a bride always worries about the guests, that had me concerned. 4) after the ceremony I really wanted to rush back into the bridal suite to freshen up and ditch the heat a little (mid 90’s) but being that the guests were gathered around the same area I had to rush past guests once I made my move which made me feel a little rude b/​c I wasn’t ready to meet and greet. This might be far fetched but maybe having a door from inside the pavilion connect to the bridal room would help this issue should it come up again in the future. 5) the cake cutting was very slow for only 106 guests and they seemed to be only bringing out mostly 1 of the 3 flavors. Ok enough complaining! I wouldn’t have had my wedding anywhere else. Boulder ridge is beautiful. I was no bridezilla but I had to be a little picky and give an honest review. This venue is breath taking with the views and I hope to visit this location again b/​c it was the spot of my most magical day yet.

We held a wedding for my daughter at the Pavilion at Boulder Ridge and couldn’t be happier with our choice of venues. Unlike most golf courses, they have a separate event space exclusive only to your party… truly your own space. The facility is beautiful and the views stunning. Stephanie, the event director, helped us from A to Z. She was very professional, very helpful by providing me with suggestions, and very responsive to all my questions. I definitely considered her part of the «wedding committee». Everything went perfect from the ceremony to the reception. I would definitely recommend Boulder Ridge, and Stephanie, if you are looking for a venue. It’s the perfect spot with perfect customer service; you won’t be disappointed!

To put it as nicely and quickly as possible, you pay for the view, which let’s be real, isn’t THAT nice, it’s San Jose!
Anyways, way too over priced to other places and I really don’t get when some places make themselves a «Mon-​Fri» business. I have a m-​f job and every other venue I have viewed allows weekend appointments, this place doesn’t which really put a bad taste in my mouth. If they won’t even make weekend appointment what else will the be all snooty about?

After numerous visits to other venue’s for our wedding, We came across Boulder Ridge. From the moment we drove up to the pavilion to meeting with the wedding coordinator and viewing the price list and what’s included, our decision was made in a split second and it was the «BEST» choice by far. We want to personally acknowledge and thank Stephanie Lui our marvelous wedding coordinator. She was very personable, on top of every email and phone call, very detail oriented and a true professional. Every aspect of the venue was flawless (our food, cake, BR staff, the pavilion and the over all service). We highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to get married. Thank you to «The Golf Club At Boulder Ridge» for making our wedding on July 25, 2014 memorable and picture– perfect. Our guest are still talking about our wedding and how delightful everything was. You deserve these 5 STARS.

I had my wedding reception at Boulder Ridge and I wanted to take the time to talk about the amazing experience I had with the staff at Boulder Ridge. I stumbled upon this venue by accident and as soon as I saw the venue I knew that it was where I wanted to have my wedding. The Pavilion provides an amazing view of San Jose and I highly recommend going to see it during the day as well at night. It is stunning during both times of the day.
I worked directly with Stephanie and I was impressed by how promptly she responded to all of my emails. She was also very flexible in meeting with me during my lunch breaks and was always prepared, timely, and very friendly. She made me feel at ease throughout the whole planning process and provided me with great suggestions when asked. I especially appreciated her calm demeanor during my wedding day and she made everything run smoothly and I couldn’t be happier with how the day turned out.
I also very much appreciated the staff and their friendly and efficient service. There was a little hiccup at dinner since my husband and I decided to go around and talk to all the guests at their tables — something that we didn’t plan for in our original wedding timeline. It caused dinner to come a little later than expected but all of the staff was accommodating and I was impressed that all of the food was still hot even though we had caused it to be delayed. At the end of the night, I thanked the staff personally for a smooth dinner service.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with Boulder Ridge. The venue and location is amazing, the view is amazing, the staff is amazing. I would highly recommend this venue and it really is a hidden gem in San Jose.

Stopped by here for a site visit for a friend’s upcoming nuptials and met with Stephanie. She was professional, friendly and thorough. My friends felt very comfortable asking her the hundreds of questions they had. She made them felt at ease and talked them through the steps that they should now be taking. Even though it will be quite a while that my friends will get married, Stephanie was great at giving them an overview of what to expect. The site was a very nice space, with a great view, and a beautiful LED tree that would be perfect for pictures!
Stephanie definitely knows what she’s doing, which shows in her work ethic.

To sum it all up — Stephanie is the BEST! :)
She was very professional, responsive to all our questions and emails, able to coordinate and accommodate with our vendors (DJ, flowers, ceremony, family, photographers, videographer). She worked really well with our ceremony coordinator. Being the stressed out bride, being the professional and organized person she is, helped a lot!
One such example was that we were running late for our bride and groom photos. Initially we had set up an hour photo session before the ceremony, but only had 20 or so minutes to get to the location out on the golf course and take our pictures. Stephanie made sure we made the most use of our time, driving the golf cart like crazy to squeeze as much photo op time as possible. Our photos turned out great BTW.
The venue was GORGEOUS — from the time we initially saw it as a potential wedding venue to the rehearsal, to the ceremony, to the reception, up till the end of it all. It’s very modern (if that’s what you’re looking for in a wedding venue), the outdoor bar area is magnificent, the LED flowers tree outdoors, the views of the hills and sunset have no words to describe them. Even the freshly planted flowers outside where the ceremony took place seemed to have been set up just for our special day :) Our guests loved the views so much that once it cooled down they spent most of the evening outdoors mingling.
The food was delicious (prepare to be stuffed silly during the food tasting dinner), the staff very attentive and kind. We can keep going…
Thank you so much to Stephanie and the Boulder Ridge staff for a wonderful time. It was definitely worth it all! If you’re looking for a venue that needs almost no decorations on your end, this is it.

I just finished helping with the flowers and décor for the wedding of a very close friend at Boulder Ridge Pavilion. This was the Hunter/​Noori wedding in early June.
I worked closely with the event director, Stephanie who was extepremely helpful and professional every step of the way. The venu was beautiful & clean with breathtaking views! Everything we asked Stephanie for was agreed upon and taken care of the day of the wedding, and then some.
The open bar, appetizers, food, service & servers… all amazing. Stephanie actually went beyond the call of duty from contacting the person who had a tentative hold on the Pavilion for the date of our wedding, explaining our situation and need for the room and then securing it to steaming out normal creases in the table linens that we didn’t want to see. Stephanie was at the Pavilion early for us to set up and decorate and stayed til the end the day of the wedding.
Prices were reasonable and honored to the finish. The food was amazing, all 3 dishes selected — fabulous. Views and surroundings to die for. Cannot say enough good things about Boulder Ridge, it’s event director, Stephanie, the view of the city, service & staff. All first class all the way. I would highly recommend this venu anytime.
I plan to help with my nieces wedding at Boulder Ridge in late July and expect to receive the same great service.

I contacted this facility to have my wedding here. I was VERY disappointed with the communication. I emailed Lisa and she initially got back to me very quickly. After asking a few questions and wanting to see the facility, we were ready to book it, she stopped responding. I emailed her about 3 times in one day and got a response a couple days later and asked to see the facility and after a little over a week of no response I have decided to write this a ax them from our list. I would not recommend this facility as the communication was very poor and Lisa was not willing to help. Would never recommend them!

I got married at the Pavilion Event Center at Boulder Ridge last month and it couldn’t have been more perfect. This venue is gorgeous!
I’d never heard of Boulder Ridge, but came across it last summer when our previous venue fell through. I was initially turned off by the idea of a golf club wedding since it seemed kind of boring and clique, but Boulder Ridge changed my mind. The views are absolutely stunning and the event center is actually separate from the club house, so it feels very private.
Based on the prices, I thought Boulder Ridge might be too good to be true. Their prices are totally reasonable (by wedding terms) and are a fraction of the cost of some other well known golf clubs nearby (Silver Creek, The Ranch — I’m looking at you). I’d also argue that it’s a nicer looking venue with better views than the others.
I have to admit, I was a bit nervous when I saw some of the previous negative reviews, especially since things didn’t work out with my first venue. However, when I toured Boulder Ridge for the first time, I addressed these concerns with their coordinator Lisa and she left me feeling reassured that I wouldn’t encounter any of these issues with my wedding, and she was right.
On that note, Lisa was wonderful to work with and always very quick to respond to my emails. She was also always available anytime I needed to swing by the venue for walk-​throughs with other vendors. I must be transparent in the fact that I also hired a separate day-​of coordinator who totally rocked, so I’m not sure what the experience would be like without one. However, on the day of my wedding Lisa was very helpful and checked in with my husband and I multiple times while we were getting ready and at the beginning of the night. She also saw to it that our glasses were always full, as this seems like it may have been an issue with some previous weddings.
As for the food and beverages, everything was superb. We chose the beer and wine package and also served margaritas during our cocktail hour. I was a little apprehensive because we didn’t have a chance to try their margaritas before serving them at our wedding, but they were delicious. Also, while I didn’t have much contact with the bartender myself, my guests said he was fabulous.
For our entrees we chose to do a «combo plate» with hangar steak with blackberry ketchup along and the pork with apricot sauce. My husband and I loved that their choices were a bit more unique than the standard wedding faire and our guests loved the food. Even my vegan cousin who had a different meal was really pleased with what she had. My only tiny complaint is that we were unable to do a tasting prior to when we needed to send out our invitations, so we could not give guests a choice. We were, however, able to try the food in advance at the Boulder Ridge restaurant.
Overall we couldn’t be happier with our venue choice. We’ve received so many compliments from our guests and the photos are absolutely stunning. I’d highly recommend The Pavilion Event Center at Boulder Ridge!

BRIDES BEWARE BEFORE CHOOSING THIS VENUE!!!
I got married here in August. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking HOWEVER many things were looked over that should not have been.
ONE: I specifically asked for and was told there would be two umbrellas set up to provide shade for our elderly guests. I even still have the email correspondence. No such umbrellas were set up and i was too busy the day of to notice until it was too late.
TWO: I had things that were supposed to be set up PRIOR to guests arrival that were still sitting in the bridal room while guests were shuttled up to the pavilion. I had to find someone myself and ask again to have the right things set up at the table.
THREE: No one poured my husband OR myself any champagne. Our toasting flutes sat on the table with the cake while we sat there with no champagne to toast with DURING toasts. No one noticed until I flagged down a waitress AFTER toasts were finished.
FOUR: My meal was brought out dead last. I was the bride. I sat there and watched my husband FINISH his filet before my meal was brought out to me.
FIVE: No one saved the top of my cake. Isnt that a given? I mean, I dont think i should have to request you save the top of my cake. They cut it all up and served it.
SIX: The venue literally RAN OUT of beer.
SEVEN: They then decided they were going to shut down the bar i PAID extra to have open an additional hour. My guests were not too drunk or out of hand. Nothing was broken and no one misbehaved. I was later told that security notified my father who said this was ok which was a blatant lie and he never said that. Not to mention I WAS the bride and I paid for this extra service myself.
I understand nothing is perfect on a wedding day and of course some things will go wrong, HOWEVER, if you plan on booking this venue go into it KNOWING you are not in charge and you have to literally map out every last detail or they will disappoint.
My husband and I have no cake now to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. Please feel free to message me if youre planning to hold your event here and want more information!

We were married (ceremony and reception) at the Pavilion Event Center at Boulder Ridge on 8÷18÷12. We shopped for the location for a few weeks and found nothing to compare with this location. First of course is the views sitting atop the ridge overlooking Almaden Valley and Silicon Valley which beat every other venue on building tops down town, wineries, and Villas. Second was the elimination of planning hassles by bundling nearly everything into one coordinator (more on her later)… ceremony setup/​cleanup, bar service, catering, linens, dishes… Everything except flowers, DJ (See review to next be written on DJ Curtis!!!), photographer and officiant were covered in a complete package. Other places supplied the location, but did not include food, drinks, service leaving many more decision to an already overwhelmed bride and groom. And the price was VERY reasonable for the level of service.
Food. For the price quoted I was sure we would have choices of rubber chicken, shoe leather steak, and pasty white fish, with over cooked veggies and a Sara Lee desert. Boy was I wrong. They hosted a tasting at the Club House and served 8 magnificent appetizers (we chose the bacon wrapped figs stuffed with Blue Cheese, philo dough wrapped pesto and asiago, and gulf prawns on ice (then 5 delicious salads (we chose the Caesar with parmesan basket that was OUTSTANDING), then (ok by now we were stuffed since they served us whole portions instead of just tastes),…then 6 or 7 outstanding entrees (we chose the Filet Mignon in red wine reduction and crispy shallots with garlic mashed potatoes, Chicken with Lobster risotto, and a Eggplant parmesan). It was really hard to choose as they were all delicious. Hats off to the chef there for some outstanding creations worthy of some of the finer restaurants in Silicon Valley.
Wine. Decent and reasonably priced list of alternatives, but being a wine collector for the past 25 years, we dipped into our cellar for the wine and were met with a reasonable corkage fee.
Security.
There were no issues to really test this capability, except one of the guests drank a bit more than they could handle, and when found throwing up in the bathroom just as salads were being served (yeah early in the night). Security politely but firmly detained them, notified me with a request to find someone to take them home, and made sure that the person was cared for and could not be a disruption to the rest of the event. And just so no one gets the wrong impression, there were many well lubricated people on the dance floor after the dinner enjoying the mirth. They had recommended a nearby 4 star hotel for out of town guests (and our honeymoon suite) with a shuttle service before and after the ceremony to reduce the need for DD’s. Great idea!
Saved the best for last… LISA.
OMG. This lady is the best. First she had great recommendations for DJs, bakeries, florist, photographers that had worked there before with positive reviews to simplify our search. Planning was made a breeze all because of Lisa. She had a down to the minute schedule of each segment (seating guests, ceremony, cocktails and picture time, diner, cake, first dance, party). The rehearsal was smooth and easy and everyone was comfortable with the stage. We planned every thing so the bride would have nothing to do on wedding day except get the hair done, get dressed and show up. I was actually bored on wedding day and washed the car to kill time waiting for the ceremony. Then at the actual ceremony, she was the perfect conductor, alerting each of us when it was time to march, enter, exit and kept us on schedule. Diners were all delivered, wine served, cake cut, dances done to the all-​too-​quick end of the event. Many of our guests said it was the best/​most beautiful wedding they had ever attended.
This review is written by the groom (paid for 85% of the event). This event was planned by the bride and groom with no interference from any future in-​laws. Lisa is key part of the Boulder Ridge package. Reading some of the negative reviews, I see they are written by either a meddlesome in-​law, or used a different coordinator that can share blame in the challenges of organizing a large event with many moving parts. Leave it to Lisa, cut the parents out of it and you will have a storybook event.

We have had the pleasure of setting up and decorating multiple weddings at the Pavilion at Boulder Ridge. It is such a beautiful venue and and we get the opportunity to work there. Lisa is also an awesome help. She has accommodated my business and worked with me to make our mutual clients happy and create the perfect visions of their wedding day. I always look forward to working with her and hope to continue or professional relationship when it comes to weddings. She is very flexible and communicates well with me as to whether or not I can schedule a site inspection and what times I can set up for the wedding as well. Thank you for all your hard work and help Lisa! It has really been a pleasure!

It was amazing to watch Lisa take the extra steps to make sure the Bride’s smallest details were addressed throughout the Evening. the Staff was always checking on my needs and I’m just a Vendor. You can imagine how they treated the Guests.
Whenever a new Wedding client and I finally get the chance to chat and talk the details of their Wedding, It’s always an added bonus when they tell me that the Boulder Ridge is their Venue. This Amazing Event staff are always a pleasure to work with.

I wish we had been warned… This review will be long but read through to the end if you are thinking of planning any event at Boulder.
My daughters wedding couldn’t have been on a prettier day but our dissatisfaction with Boulder Ridge has really over shadowed that beauty. The trouble began with Lisa the coordinator for the facility, she is not easy to work with and her communication skills are poor.
I had specifically asked Lisa to staff the bar with 3 bartenders so when the ceremony ended there wouldn’t be a long wait (the bar is 3 sided) and we had heard from friends this was an issue at other weddings. She said yes of course we do that. Never were there 3 bartenders on duty and the wait was over 10 minutes, we had many guests actively complaining. It was a mess!
We had arranged that once dinner was served the open bar would close and it would be hosted for beer and wine only. I asked how they would let our guests know that cocktails would be cash and no one had a plan! How embarrassing for the guest to order a drink which had been comp only to be told oh yeah that ended, pay up! Lucky for us we had hired our own wedding coordinator and she actually had a chalk board with her to make a note of the cocktail pricing! Of course this is how we found out later that the cocktail pricing changes regularly, one price for cash, one for our hosted bill and a much cheaper price if you order in the private clubhouse, I know this because I WAS a member! This wedding was such a mess we have resigned our membership.
The real fun began when we were asked to be seated for dinner! Our table only had half the water glasses filled, after some time when no one came to get our glasses filled I got up to find Lisa who’s answer was oh they must have been pulled to get on the salad?! Shows the lack of proper staffing. Down hill from here… about 20 minutes later we were informed the bridal table had not been served any wine. Again we had to get up from our table to request service and oh yeah still no salad! So now we are all seated, salads have arrived and I hope everyone has wine… now we are waiting and waiting for dinner. At this point I’m really wishing I would have just gone buffet! The beef and fish dishes finally come but the plates are looking really funny at this point with 2 items and no vegetables… we eat anyway and when the last bites are had the vegetable plate arrives! I’m thinking really, shouldn’t that have been the first thing served? The plate was so hot we couldn’t even touch it. It took forever to finish dinner and the bridal party felt hostage at the head table as their precious time was wasting away.
The servers were not experienced, they are overwhelmed but that isn’t the issue, management is to blame. They ran out of wine glasses, did they not know how many guests we were expecting! How does the Chef not have prepared the vegetables so your dinner can be served together? Our party was no where near the max capacity. It was so chaotic it is hard to imagine how things run for larger events.
We resigned because we would never have another event there. Over priced and under whelmed. Our bar costs exceed 2x their pre pay bar offer. Again really? That doesn’t include the drinks that were paid by guests after cocktail hour was over. We have since heard from many guests that their drink glasses were cleared by staff when they were still full! We have concluded that a good part of what they are trying to bill us for was cleared and thrown away.
Our complaints have fallen on deaf ears. We have repeatedly asked for a break down of our bar bill, nothing has been produced. They can’t produce an accurate bill because they are billing us for almost 8 drinks per guest and that doesn’t factor in the non drinkers or what was paid for.
No offer of compensation for our issues with service. They charge 20% gratuity which helps explain why no one there cares if the service is terrible. We have heard so many of our guests comments about the service but the best was… to bad they can’t match the beautiful setting with quality service, it cheapens the experience. And that sums up what we are left with. It is just embarrassing.
I really wish someone would have warned us so consider yourself warned.
There are so many lovely places to have weddings, no one should have this kind of experience on the most special of days.

Had the pleasure of hosting an event at this gorgeous venue for my son’s high school fundraiser. The event planner, Lisa totally took care of me and the event this year. It was a terrific success, and I couldn’t have done it without her and her great staff. It was a pleasure working with her.

Update — we got into contact with Lisa and I’m hoping she just was having a bad month. We loved her, we loved the venue. we are just working on picking a weekend for next year with our families and then we will book!
The ONLY thing I didn’t like is that you have to walk outside to get to the bathrooms. (It’s covered. but still.) Also, if you look down from the patio, you see the service building and huge power lines right through one side… Otherwise, I’m pretty confident we will be happy with our wedding.

Our wedding day turned out just as we had always dreamed it would. The Pavilion Event Center is absolutely beautiful and in the evening especially as the sun starts to go down. We got married with the rolling green hills, coastal mountains and city of San Jose behind us. So gorgeous and indicative of my hometown!
There were a few hiccups the day of the wedding, but it is impossible for every little detail to turn out perfectly and, at the end of the night it didn’t effect anything. The hiccups I noticed were that the bar was opened before the ceremony when it was supposed to open after it and we were not informed our dessert was being served (gelato instead of cake) which led to my husband not getting any. Not huge issues as I’m sure the guests appreciated the bar being opened early and my hubby and I were having such a great time he didn’t notice or care about the gelato.
Everything was set up just as we’d rehearsed. The on site coordinator, Lisa Nunez, even allowed my vendors an extra hour to set up. I really appreciated that! She also was very accomodating and fair with the pricing for the extra things that we wanted to incorporate. I felt like she worked hard to help ensure our day turned out as we wanted it to.
The reasons I can’t give Boulder Ridge a 5 star review are because it frequently was hard to connect with the site coordinator and food and beverage manager. I understand they are very busy, but so are we!
So many of my guests have told us what an amazing time they had at our wedding and all of them have said how very beautiful it was. This venue is definitely worth your attention if you are in the market!

Boulder Ridge has one of the most beautiful golf courses I have seen! I am not a golfer, but a photographer, and recently had the pleasure of doing several engagement portraits there, as well as photography of their amazing brand new Wedding Pavilion, which overlooks the South Bay Area from a majestic ridgetop. The entire property is gorgeous!
Another great thing about Boulder Ridge, is the super professional and friendly staff. Lisa Nunes, the Director of Events, is a true HOSPITALITY professional. They have just started hosting weddings, and if you are looking for an elegant, posh, brand new venue for wedding, I highly recommend that you check them out!
