History

Established in 2010.

Floral designer Monica, founded Signature Bloom based on her love for beautiful bouquets and flowers and her desire to work as a wedding vendor. Before starting her own business, Monica was a very successful vacation consultant in the tourism industry. She enjoyed meeting new people and traveling, but she always felt a desire to express herself in an artistic and creative way. She went on to pursue her dream as a floral designer by going back to school and training with some of the best bridal florists in the bay area. Nowadays, Monica spends most of her time creating beautiful flowers for special events. From the perfect bridal bouquet to the most elaborate centerpiece or arrangement, she is enjoying every moment of the journey as she fulfills her lifelong dream. Signature Bloom, San Jose based design studio, has truly been a blessing for her, as she now has the opportunity to work as a wedding florist and serve the community as an event vendor.

I studied the art of floral design at City College of San Francisco and I’m trained in Western, European and Ikebana concepts. I merge these aesthetics to create my own artistic flair. I’m definitely not your traditional bridal florist. I love combining colors and textures, exotic seasonal flowers and unusual materials to design beautiful one of a kind bouquets, centerpieces and arrangements. I choose to be a floral designer for weddings and special events because I really enjoy being part of a big celebration, a milestone event in someone’s life. Choosing your bridal bouquet, wedding flowers and vendors can be both fun and stressful. My goal is to take the stress out of the process so you can relax and enjoy your day. I found Signature Bloom on Unilocal,and I’m glad I did because Monica was great to work with. I live on the East coast but had my wedding in the Bay area, so it was difficult for me to meet up with many of the vendors I needed for my wedding. However, Monica met with me in December and was quick to give me a quote a couple of weeks later. She’s very responsive through e-​mail (which is very important) and was very flexible when I had to change the number of table arrangements (I was able to switch a table arrangement to a equivalently priced guest book table arrangement, etc). Most importantly, I thought her prices were very reasonable, and the arrangements and bouquets were gorgeous. She is a true professional and definitely knows what she’s doing (because most of the time, I had no idea what I wanted or was very vague or changed my mind on the colors).
I also didn’t have to worry about the flowers at all during the day of the wedding. She was on time in setting everything up and taking everything down. Definitely as smooth as it gets when working with a vendor.

Monica was a dream to work with! I know absolutely nothing about flowers and she was patient and kind while walking me through my options for my fall weddings.
Signature Bloom was recommended to me through our Venue, working with someone who had worked at Radonich Ranch in the past was a huge plus for me. We initially made contact through a form on her website, which asked questions about our event and our flower needs. After speaking through e-​mail and setting up an in person meeting I knew I did not need to look any further. Monica was the florist we needed, other florists made the process very difficult by charging extra fees to drive to our venue, or even pretending they had never worked there.
The flowers for the day of were absolutely stunning and worth every penny. I am sad I only got to keep the bouquet and a corsage of two. I originally fell in love with flowers she had done for another wedding on her website and knew that I wanted flowers similar to those at our event. The flowers that she decorated the arch with were absolutely perfect! I could not have pictured anything more beautiful.

Monica was wonderful! She was quick to return phone calls and emails and she did such a great job on my bride & grooms arbor. The guests took pictures underneath it all night. She also did a fabulous job with the families boutonnieres and corsages and the Brides bouquet was breath taking. BEAUTIFUL work, Monica! Thank you. When we set our wedding date, we had only two months. We just reserved places for the ceremony and the reception, but literally, we had no plan. Luckily, I found Signature Bloom and Monica guided me through as an expert.
Monica knows what she is doing and I can say she is the BEST! Unlike other florists (who never got back to me after several e-​mails and phone calls), Monica is very responsive. She never hesitated to give ideas or suggestions in response to my millions of questions!
On my wedding date (Dec 6th, 2014), everything beautifully turned out. The altar arrangement at church, centerpieces on the reception tables, corsages, and boutonnieres… and more than anything else, the bouquet! It was so hard to give it away when I tossed my bouquet!

Monica did an awesome job for our wedding at Clos LaChance. My wife and I are so happy with her works. The flower are so fresh and last for more than a week after the wedding. The centerpiece looks so natural and fit the outdoor environment. My wife bouquet were classic white and it was amazing. We got so much praise for the flower arrangement and its colors. Monica of Signature Bloom was very easy to work with. I trusted her to make a lot of decisions, and everything turned out so beautiful. I showed her a few pictures of things I liked, but from there, I let her take the lead, and I am glad I did. She chose the most beautiful flowers, and contacted me with questions to verify it was what I liked. She decorated a few archways at our venue and they were beyond beautiful. Everyone commented on how lovely our flowers were, and so natural. She made beautiful bouquets for me and my bridesmaids and the boutonnieres and corsages were also gorgeous. Our wedding was outside on a farm, and the flowers and boutonnieres were wrapped in burlap and looked so wonderful.
I coud not have been happier with how everything turned out. Better than my best expectations. This part of my wedding was 100% stress-​free.

I can’t say enough good things about Monica and Signature Bloom. I got married on 4÷5÷14 and am so happy that I used Monica as our florist. I found Signature Bloom through an internet search and loved the gallery on her page. I had DIY center pieces but still needed a bouquet and some other arrangements. Even though my order wasnt huge Monica still provided outstanding service and contacted me several times to ensure I was getting exactly what I wanted.
On the day of the wedding Monica was at the venue herself setting up the arrangements. Every piece she did was even more beautiful than I had expected. I would recommend Signature Bloom to any bride. The service was impeccable and very reasonably priced for everything we received.

Monica is a god sent and I can sincerely say her flowers made my wedding. After I got engaged, the first vendor I booked was the florist. I love flowers and for me I knew it would be an important part of my wedding décor. I initially contracted with another florist, who unfortunately had to suddenly relocate a few months before my wedding. She referred me to Monica and asked that her to work with me and try provide what I wanted as close to the budget I had already agreed to. I met with Monica to go over my vision and talk through some of her recommendations. I must admit I have expensive taste and high expectation, which my budget probably didn’t match. But Monica was able to give me a great price because of the circumstances. And although I ended up paying more than initially planned, it was definitely less than I should have paid. When all was said and done, it was well worth it. I absolutely LOVED, LOVED all of my flowers – my bouquets, the ceremony flowers, the reception flowers – everything was amazing. Both my husband and I were truly blown away because it all came together so beautifully and was better than I could have ever imagined. Even my guests were commenting all night how beautiful it was! I couldn’t have been happier and would highly recommend Monica for your wedding flowers. Thank you again!

This review is long overdue but I am so glad I finally have the time to share with you all the amazing talent of Monica Kau and the beautiful job she did for my September 7,2013 wedding.
If it wasn’t for the cancellation of my originally florist, I would not have met Monica. My original florist had to move so she kindly referred me to Monica, and throughout the whole consultation, both my then-​fiancé and I felt very comfortable with her. At this time, I already had in mind what kind of flowers I wanted and would be in season for my summer wedding. Monica had her input as well, which I was quite open minded to, since she is the expertise afterall. She showed me centerpieces and bouquets she has done for previous weddings and different flower combinations. She gave me the breakdown in prices for every bouquet, boutonnière, centerpiece, etc and I felt the prices were pretty fair. I also really appreciated the fact that she tried to stick within my budget. We left the consultation knowing that Monica would be our florist.
Monica and I had a lot of emails going back and forth to help finalize our proposal and for any questions I had regarding flower selection and set up. She was very each to reach and usually got back to me within a few hours, or in 24 hours.
As we got closer to the wedding day, Monica sent me an email of photos of what my flowers would potentially look like, and although we came to some technical issues in our contract, Monica was VERY accommodating and understanding. She really worked with us so that both parties (her and I) could come to a compromise and we did.
On the day of the wedding, she absolutely blew me away! My bridal bouquet and bridesmaid bouquets were beautiful. Not to mention, mine was heavy! All the girls raved about how perfect the colors of the bouquet looked. The flowers she had draped onto my gazebo pillars were so fresh and vibrant. It didn’t take over anything but was a perfect addition. The flower petals on the aisle were scattered exactly how I had envisioned it.
The centerpieces at my dining hall were simply stunning. I had a mix of tall centerpieces, low centerpieces, and low cylinder centerpieces and they went perfectly in the room. The colors of each centerpiece went so well with the flow of the room and the colors of everything I had picked out, from the draping to the linens, to the chair covers. It all just fit perfectly. My guests still tell me how much they love the centerpieces at their table.
Monica was a wonderful florist to work with and I am so honored to have had her do the flowers for my wedding. It would not have been the same without her eye for beauty. She will transform your wedding and bring your vision to life.

Monica was wonderful to work with for our wedding flowers. She was super professional, responsive, and organized. I also appreciated how helpful and kind she was through the entire process.
Our flowers were amazing! Everything from the boutonnieres to the centerpieces exceeded our expectations. I especially loved my bouquet! I had requested peonies for my bouquet, but I knew that they would be very difficult to find for a mid-​November wedding. However, Monica really came through… she was able to get peonies from Chile for my bouquet!
I would definitely recommend Signature Bloom for your wedding!

the website seems so beautiful and all reviews seemed great so when i wrote to her to ask about flowers Monika replied asking what my budget was and what i needed.
i responded and she wrote back with a rude reply that stated– «sorry, i don’t do Saturday wedding for under $ 2000. there is a strict $ 2000 minimum on Saturday weddings.»
WOW– well excuse me! sorry I’m a bride on budget and i don’t meet your pricey quotes. MAYBE MONIKA, YOU SHOULD STATE THIS ON THE WEBSITE AND NOT WASTE ALL BRIDES TIME WHO ARE LOOKING FOR A Florist found it very rude that i was almost not good enough for this company. she didn’t even try t offer a referral company. she just seemed disgusted that i even asked to work with her for under $ 2000. yet all her Unilocal posts are how inexpensive she is and how she is low-​budget.
WARNING TO ALL BRIDES– DON’T USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU CANT START AT AT LEAST $ 2000 FOR A FEW FLORAL ARRAIGNMENTS FOR YOUR WEDDING.

From the consultation to the delivery and execution of the floral décor, she has been very friendly, knowledgable and flexible with my ideas and vision. We just celebrated our wedding on June 23, 2012 at Nestldown and hiring Monica of Signature Bloom was the best thing we did. The flowers she created were extraordinary! All of our family and guests were blown away by her amazing creations. All of the bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces and corsages were out of this world!!! The details were so thoughtful from the lace and quality ribbon on the bouquets and arrangements to the type of flowers that she imported for the occasion.
Monica was phenomenal to work with from day 1. Her business background made her extremely detail oriented and professional, she understood deadlines and she was wonderful at getting back to our requests. Her follow through on every aspect was fabulous. She was great at listening and understanding her clients’ wishes. Her styling and tastes are impeccable. Monica is great!
The first time we met with her she was very professional (had samples and ideas ready to share with us) and very friendly –we clicked immediately.
Throughout the planning process, we was VERY flexible, listened to all our ideas, came up with great suggestions –very creative, and was always happy to help us! She also worked with our budget and never pushed anything on us. She went above and beyond.
Monica was also honest about flower «availability» for our wedding (late summer). She cautioned that the main flower I wanted may not be available… turns out it was (yay) but it was not at it’s «best» crop at the time… disappointing, but Monica still made beautiful arrangements and I hardly noticed.
We had some some VERY LAST MINUTE changes that needed to be addressed for our wedding, and Monica had no problem with it –she was able to accommodate us and work with the changes we needed, down to the last month right before our wedding!
Monica made us feel confident that she would deliver on our wedding day (unfortunately, this was NOT true with some of our other vendors). And she did! She came to our hotel room to deliver personal flowers, then to the venue to deliver centerpieces AND helped to set up for our other wedding day preparations (which she did not have to do).
We definitely recommend Monica’s services to anyone looking for a florist!
