They are nice upfront, but once their job is done, they just want to push you out of your door. Highly recommend not to bring any luxury cars in, because they sure did screw up my boyfriend’s car. SMH

First time to the shop two weeks ago, I was surprised of how good the prices were and the knowledge of the products that I was questioning about. Tommy showed me the differences with a few products and how I can save money. We put together a sick system with the amount that I want to spend and I tell you!!! it was the bomb, sounds great good customer service, over all great shop. you won’t waste your time.

I have been coming to Sound Image for over 5 years. I have had alarms installed, my windows tinted and purchased anything from stereo equipment to HID conversion kits and had them all installed with no issues to date. I have brought in several different makes and models of my cars from Honda/​Acura, Toyota, Lexus, even my BMW and Mercedes for performance mods and even basic maintenance services. Currently I have my 2007 Toyota Tundra here for body and paint.
The owner, Tommy and his crew have never disappointed me and have always lived up to not only what they promised, but met my expectations or more EVERY TIME. From my own personal experience, I just can’t see how some people could have had such a negative experience here.
**TINT**
To say that the window tinting was «ok»??? Their tinter, Hung, is the only one I will let tint ANY of my cars. Why? 1: I’ve never had a problem with my tint fading, peeling or otherwise. 2: He uses quality tint… ask what brand he uses and look it up… that’s what Google was made for! 3: His prices are MORE than fair. 4: He’s got several years experience and knows exactly what he’s doing… I know… I’ve watched him.
**PRICES**
Even though I have been going to Sound Image for years, I still like to get the best deal possible, especially since I’m a JL Audio and Pioneer fanatic. So, needless to say, I shop around still. So it’s no surprise to me that 99% of the time I get the best price quote from Tommy. Loyalty has it’s rewards after all, but I still get outrageous price quotes over the phone and in person from several other places here in San Jo and the surrounding areas.
**WORKMANSHIP AND QUALITY**
From the basic deck in dash installations, to ALL of the custom work I’ve asked of Tommy’s crew, I have always been amazed at the quality of work and time they put into my vehicles. Even when I asked them to put a 7″ double din dvd/​navigation receiver into my 3 series BMW, they made it happen. They even had to relocate my climate controls to what used to be the location where there was just a pocket underneath its original location to have enough room to fit the stereo in. It looks OEM and in my opinion, is how BMW should have done it in the first place.
Thank you Tommy and your crew for always going above and beyond and doing the best you can do. Don’t hate the haters, they need something to do anyways. HAHA!

Everyone told me not to go here, the service sucks and they love to rip you off. My friends and I came here to look at some products they have. From amps, subs, and decks. GURU’S ELECTRONICS. have better deals although they are not as organized inside.
They over charge for window tinting for my friend’s is250 & 745i.
we found out that their tint sucks too.
I even called for a quote too and they said «yeah dont come here window tinting will be expensive.»

One star only because the choice of zero is not an option.
Went here because a friend referred me over. Huge mistake.
Really though, I should have stood my ground and said something the moment my car keys were handed to me.
1. Upon opening my car door (s), my emergency lights continuously blinked. So embarrassing.
2. They told me I was required to purchase an auto-​start box, so being the alarm-​illiterate person that I am, I agreed. But hey, guess what? After having that installed, I asked one of the guys to show me how to work it. Surprise, surprise, it took him ten minutes to figure it out. And then guess what? When asked to show me once more, he told me to go read the manual. EXCUSE ME?
3. And Tommy is annoying. I already had my windows tinted, but he kept insisting on trying to upsell me, telling me his tints are perfect and yadda-​yadda-​yadda. I don’t care because I already got my lovely tints and I loved ‘em.
Don’t waste your time here. And, yes, I bet he is telling his friends to write good reviews. Or maybe you just need a direct connect. Sound Image just wants your hard-​earned money. They can go suck a 8==D.

I have a 2003 Mercedes brought in for service. Sound Image was referred to us by a friend, and Daniel was the person who helped guide us through the process of repairing the car. Unlike the previous auto shop I had taken my car to, Sound Image helped in fixing everything that needed to be done, while being reasonably priced. Since then, Sound Image is the auto shop I bring the Mercedes to, to ensure the quality and good service.
I would highly recommend Tommy and his crew at Sound Image to fix anything that is wrong with your car.

I had my car tinted here awhile back and I must say, one of the employee here was a douchebag. When I handed him the keys, he rev’d the car and sped in the small parking lot to the back to get it tinted. I mean the tint is good and cheap, but the customer service makes you feel like you wouldn’t want to be back at this place ever again. Anyways, I still give 2 stars since like I said, the tint looks well done and is cheap.

There is very few stereo stores around that does good work. The store display is nice and there working area is huge. I do like the fact that the place is setup for a one stop shop. But there main focus seems to be tinting and engine performance. I have been sending my cars to Soundimage for tinting and they haven’t let me down.
I can understand why people get upset with the employees. There knowledgeable about parts but its hard to understand them sometimes. Its a great place to get tinting done. But you should always do your homework before making any car decision (modding).

Asking their friends to write up good reviews SMH

My hubbie and I got our cars tinted by Tommy. He was very friendly on the phone and in person. We have been searching around for a place that will do it for a good deal and professional work, plus lifetime warranty. And this was the spot. He even gave us a great deal for bringing in both our cars. It was pretty quick, even with my husband’s car since it already had blue tint on it, which he had to remove first to put on the new one.

A friend referred me because Tommy the owner did an awesome job on their cars at a good price. Brought my car here to get my windows tinted as well and overall he did a good job. It was quick, he was friendly, and it didn’t look cheap. However, I noticed some white streak marks that wouldn’t come off and he was very willing to take a look and fix it if necessary. When I brought my car back in he took a quick look and said it was just dirty or a smudge… I don’t know but it’s still not coming off, maybe I’m not cleaning it right??? I kind of hoped he would put more of an effort in resolving this issue though.

My friend referred me to this place for an alarm system since its close by and cheap. However, the installation was kinda ghetto. They didn’t ask me where I wanted to place my receiver. They also drove my car back to the garage themselves. I would had preferred to drive it myself but whatever. Then when I asked if I could go back to see my car, they wouldn’t let me. It felt as if they were trying to hide something, shady. After they were done installing my alarm, I had to come back the same day because my alarm wasn’t working correctly. At least they had lifetime warranty. And the waiting was entertaining since there are three doggies around.

Very friendly, very open answer all questions. I first started out with several questions, and a worker there, Tommy, was friendly enough to answer everything for me. He explained everything to me, as he modified my cars, told me what procedures he would take, the exact pricing, with no hidden fees. All the people that work there are also very friendly as well. I drop in occasionally just to say «Hi».
I can’t complain about anything at all, but I can most certainly recommend this shop for auto enthusiasts whom want to do performance, security, audio, or appearance modifications. The shop itself, has a very friendly setting too. I have really never left that place displeased.
I’ve gone to several other shops, and they just wanted money. These guys know what there is to do to vehicles, and they’re friendly. I’ve recommended this place to all my friends and family, as I do to you, the reader.
They have moved their shop to Senter Rd. off of Tully now. Other than that, if you just need some questions answered, parts, or modifications of any sort, I highly recommend Sound Image

TOMMY! he is the best. very cool person to talk to, he treats you like your friend and not just a costumer. Really like how he does his custom work and help you out on anything you need. He moved form tully Rd, to down the street he is now located in Wool Creek Rd in san jose ca.(senter and Tully)…

Alarm install was wrong. None of the promised added features were thrown in. AVOID!!!
