After having gum disease all of my adult life, my prior dentist eventually pulled every one of my top molars (and some bottom). I am very prone to infection and that dentist was against using antiobiotic. Crying when I lost the last tooth I needed to really chew, I researched other dentists. I went to Dr. Beveridge because his web site listed a number of «antibiotic» treatments for gum disease that I had never even heard about or been told about (antibiotic threads in pockets, etc.). I don’t know how long I have been going (several years), but my gums are healed and stable (proof is in the measurement of pockets). I lost no more teeth. Additionally I just completed a procedure for 3 dental implants so I can really chew again. Dental implants are done differently and different products are used depending on one’s mouth, bone, placements etc. The surgeon works up the plan. So this review is to compliment two stellar dental experts: surgeon Dr. Follmar (senior) and dentist Dr. Beveridge, both in San Jose. If you are a data driven person who wants obvious competency, Dr. Follmar is your surgeon. Likewise, Dr. Beveridge explains what he is going to do and why. Both are extremely knowledgeable and uptodate on treatments and both know how to use antibiotic treatments for success. The whole process went smoothly, believe it or not with my mouth, and it was tricky getting implants to fit. Had to build up bone first, etc. etc. I can’t rave enough about how please I have been. And, truly, had I been going to these two many years ago, I WOULD HAVE NEVER LOST ALL OF THESE TEETH. Thank you Dr. Fullmar Sr. and Dr. Beveridge and staff. I used IV sedation to have the surgery and just shots at the dentist. Both teams work together, and with a lab, to get perfect replacement teeth (implants). I am the kind of patient who went to my surgeon after doing a lot of research and with a long list of questions, and even some preferences. My surgeon addressed everything on my list and stuck to my preferences as well when possible; he explained everything. Likewise Dr. Beveridge is similar. I was going in 4 times a year for cleaning due to the original gum problem and am down to 3 times a year and it’s just constant improvement. Most of my mouth (gums) are «normal» now. Dr. Beveridge is slightly more expensive than some other dentists (I have been to many) but he was kind to give me discounts when he could (I lost my dental insurance). Also, when it comes to the mouth, I learned the hard way NEVER to look for a budget surgeon or dentist. My last dentist (I went there for over ten years) was very competent but was the wrong one for me because of his belief that antibiotics shouldn’t be used. For my infection-​prone mouth, this was a disaster. Also he never used any of the treatments available nowadays. I have taken the time to write this because having been to many dentists and periodontists and a few surgeons, I want people to know of the radical success and improvement I had with these two.

Dentistry is probably my biggest fear in life (seriously) and because of this I would only visit a dentist when there was pain. Now that I’m older and facing several issues with my teeth and gums I’m committed to being more proactive (better late then never). I have to say, one of the reasons I’m more committed to my dental health is greatly due to Dr. Beveridge and my comfort level with him and ALL the staff. From the minute I called to schedule my first visit I felt relaxed. Amanda was great, she listened to me rant about how fearful I am and how important it was for me to feel a good connection with the dentist and she got me in for the initial visit quickly. She’s also very patient with me in trying to work my dental appointments into my busy work/​life schedule and she smiles the entire time I try to juggle, she’s not impatient at all.
Dr. Beveridge is like no other dentist I have ever met (I have gone through a few). Five stars isn’t enough, but it’s the highest Unilocal will allow me to give. He’s gentle in every aspect of being a Dentist. He explained my situation with my gums and teeth and all my options, advised on a priority list and believe me my list is long. He listens and explains in great detail and most importantly, he is NOT condescending, nor is he arrogant. He doesn’t rush or leave in the middle of working on you. He follows up on the appointment in the evening to ensure I’m feeling ok (who does this anymore? HE does!!)
Tulsey (not sure I spelled that right) my hygienist is awesome, she knows her stuff. I’m having to have deep cleaning done and I felt absolutely nothing, not during nor afterwards. I had heard horror stories about scaling and root planing and I was scared. She was gentle and explained everything she was doing before she did it.
Vicki helped work with my financial institution to be able to obtain an increase in my credit line so I could afford my treatment plan. I’m so impressed with this practice in every aspect. I’m a small business owner and I can only hope my business is running as smooth, polite and professional as this one!
If you are looking for a great dentist and the staff that backs his success, Stephen Beveridge is it. It’s my new home, away from home for dentistry. I trust him and believe him to just be a decent person, in addition to a great dentist.

Dr. Beveridge has been my dentist of choice ever since I moved to the south bay. I believe it’s been near 20 years that I’ve gotten to know the doctor and his staff. Though Stephanie no longer mans the front desk, Amanda has taken over completely, and stays on top of things wonderfully. Alyssa always brightens my day, and the hygienist does the best cleaning I’ve ever seen. I’d highly recommend Steve Beveridge to my close family, and friends. If you are looking for a dentist near Los Gatos, who does the best crowns, and is very familiar with Invisalign, or other cosmetic dentistry. It’s an easy choice to choose the good doctor. Not to mention his staff backs him up better than any team I’ve ever witnessed. 5 Stars was a no brainer on this Unilocal rating. Give Dr. Beveridge’s office a call, what are you waiting for!

I have been going to Dr Beveridge since he first established his practice. I’ve always felt comfortable and at ease with any of the procedures needed. There is no hard line sell with regard to having any additional work done, simply options to think about. He is a true professional focused on giving you the best care possible. Although there has been turnaround with the hygienist staff, there has been stability over the past several years.
Why then do I give only one star???
The reason is that every time I walked in the front door I was asked «do you want to settle up on your account balance». It got to the point that I really had no idea what I was paying for. The explanations were so cryptic and vague that I simply paid and assumed that my account was current. BUT IT NEVER WAS. I would then get statements asking for additional payments. This seemed strange given the fact that I was told all payments were due at time of service and billing statements were sent out only from an account summary perspective. These statements were nearly impossible to try and figure out what you were paying for. There never existed any type alignment between what you received as an estimate and what was covered under my dental insurance. I then come to find out that if a call had been placed to my dental insurance company, PRIOR to any work done, by Dr Beveridge’s «financial analyst, she would have received authorization as to exactly what was covered and at what price. Instead, it felt like a number was randomly picked out of the air and anything above and beyond the estimate was simply the responsibility of the patient. Not an issue when it’s anything under $ 50.00, major issue when it starts climbing into the hundreds.
The one thing I simply detest is having to micro manage administrative tasks for others. My options were either to find another dentist or continue seeing Dr Beveridge, but having to live with trying to figure out what I was paying for. In the end, I left.

I’ve been going to see Dr. Beveridge ever since I moved to the Bay Area almost 12 years ago! The staff is very cheerfull and friendly every time I go there. They send me postcard reminders as well as telephone reminders which is great when you’re a busy person, but don’t plan things 6+ months in advance.
Dr. Beveridge has employed different hygienists over the years and they’ve always been very professional and pleasant to deal with. I’ve also had a few minor issues over the years such as night-​time grinding, chipped teeth and need for a crown, but they were all resolved without issue. If you want a no hassle dental experience, go see Dr. Beveridge.
