Steven Toschi, DDS

I was referred to Dr. Toschi years ago and loved the whole team from day one. He’s not the least expensive dentist but you get what you pay for. His hygenist really helped get my gums back in shape and up until I had a baby and changed jobs my teeth were pretty perfect! Due to an insurance change I stopped going for a few years and at my check up with another dentist they told me I needed two crowns! Terrified I went back to dr t and was told I just needed fillings.
They have all the newest technologies and I really think that makes a difference. They don’t rush unless you ask them to. They do a great job making you feel comfortable and are low stress when it comes to payment. On my last visit they actually came in at under the estimate.

I had a similar experience to one of the other reviewer’s. I had been going regularly to a dentist out of town and moved to the area. Dr. Toschi immediately said I needed two cavities filled when just six months earlier I had x-​rays with my other dentist and everything was fine. Also the office did not seem very cool and handling Insurance claims. I will not return.

After our dentist of 20 years retired, Dr Toschi took over her practice. My daughter had always had cavity-​free check-​ups with the prior dentist, with cleanings and x-​rays every six months. On the first appointment with Dr Toschi, he claimed my daughter had SIX cavities. I consulted our orthodontist and got his recommendation for another dentist (which happened to be our Ortho’s personal dentist.) After a consultation and review of the x-​rays, new dentist said my daughter had ZERO cavities. He found one tooth that he said should be monitored for a cavity, but recommended no immediate action. Would never go back to that office. I think this says it all.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Toschi’s for about 10 years now. I’ve found his service to be highly skilled, very competent, and well run. In general my teeth are in pretty good shape, with much of the credit going to his care.
Most of my interaction with him is at my 6-​month cleaning appointments. After the hygienist has done her thing, the doctor will examine me and discuss any issues or potential issues. Most of the time, the issues are «let’s keep an eye on this tooth», or «there’s an old filling that probably should be replaced at some point».
On two occasions I’ve had minor emergencies. I’ve had good luck getting in to see him quickly in these situations. For one of them, he even opened up on a Saturday just for me – and then he didn’t charge me anything for the visit.
For those who like high-​tech gear, Dr. Toschi is able to make crowns right in his office. I’ve had 1 or 2 crowns from him that were all completed in a single visit, unlike other dentists that must send out to get the crown made.
Because he spends as much time with a patient as is needed, he sometimes runs late in the afternoons. I’ve learned to prefer morning appointments because of this. (Cleanings are the exception: The hygienist is almost always on time.)
And while I’m mentioning his hygienist, let me put in a plug for her, also. She has been with Dr. Toschi for many years (I think since I’ve started seeing Dr. Toschi, but I’m not 100% sure of that). She’s very good at her job, very personable, and very people-​oriented. She always remembers that I have some vertigo issues, and works with me to minimize those issues.
Dr. Toschi is not the cheapest dentist around. I’d call his pricing «average». But I prefer someone who I know I can trust, rather than someone who gives me the cheapest price.

My mom and I both go to Dr. Toschi, and he is great! He has large hands that aren’t necessarily the most gentle when he’s putting in a crown, but the work is always amazing. He’s a perfectionist, and will work until your bite is better than when you came in. I’ve had a few cavities filled here (and a crown done) and not a single one has hurt more than two years later. I’ve always had sensitive teeth and sensitive fillings, but not from here. Dr. Toschi is great!

I’ve been going to Dr. Toschi’s office since my last dentist retired… nearly 10 years now I believe. They’ve always been great. The Doc once spotted a minor collision in my teeth and a few minutes later I had a bite that I didn’t know I could have it was so even! His staff are great, very accommodating. Bonnie and the other techs who do cleanings and support the Doc are all the best I’ve ever had. Our whole family still goes to Dr. Toschi (two in HS) even though we moved out of the valley seven years ago. He’s worth the drive. We always have a clear treatment plan and he’s worked with multiple insurance carriers – never a problem there.
