Susan Tran, DO

I previously had Kaiser insurance but changed to a different plan in which allowed me the opportunity to look for a new primary care physician. I looked to Unilocal and found Dr. Tran who had pretty good reviews and located fairly close to my house.
Initially when trying to make an appointment for a physical, I was a little turned off my how difficult it was at first to get a live person on the phone. (–1 star) I tried timing it so that I would call only during the times that they listed as open but found myself getting the automated message. I even told myself that if I don’t get through this last time I call, I’m going to look for someone else, good thing someone picked up!
Her office is located in the new business complex behind Target. Spacious parking and very easy to find. She shares a the office space with another doctor who seems to be pretty popular as well since most of the patients in the reception had an appointment with him. The girls in the front aren’t too warm and fuzzy but the experience with the doctor herself and medical assistant/​nurse made up for it.
It has been quite a while since I had a regular physical so couldn’t remember what to expect for the appointment. I believe the assistant/​nurse who took my weight, blood pressure and drew my bloods name was Nicole (?), very nice and extremely personable! After she was done taking the baseline stuff, they had me change and wait for Dr. Tran to come in which wasn’t long at all. (I was used to waiting 15 – 20 minutes before the doctor came in at Kaiser) Dr. Tran was knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. Addressed all my concerns as well as gave me suggestions. I felt that she took her time to get to know me as well as assess some of my preexisting conditions. The appointment never once felt rushed and I left the appointment feeling satisfied by the way Dr. Tran answered all my questions and concerns. She is very professional and easy to talk to.
During the appointment Dr. Tran did tell me that if I don’t hear about my test results in about 2 weeks, to give them a call cause its a possibility that something might’ve happened to it. Weird cause thats exactly what happened. I ended up calling 3 weeks later to ask about my results in which they were able to send me a copy and message via mail.
The only other thing I wished they told me was that there might’ve been an extra charge when getting my blood results. The front office told me that my appointment with them would be covered by insurance but I received a bill from the lab a month later saying I owed. Not a big deal but I don’t always check the mail religiously and almost threw away the lab bill cause I thought it was junk mail.

I was up north for a wedding recently and felt a little sick so I decided to ask my friend if she knew any good doctors around the area. She recommended Dr. Tran. My first impression was that her office was really clean and new. I found out later while talking to her that she had just opened her practice recently.
Dr. Tran took her time to speak with me about my symptoms and didn’t make me feel stupid like some other doctors do sometimes (not to discredit Kaiser, but I had a horrible one two doctors ago). At the end of my visit, I felt very at ease. I sometimes worry too much when I feel the slightest sickness and she really put my worries at bay. If you want a doctor who is very personable and knows how to explain things to you well, come see Dr. Tran. She reminds me of my new doctor down south, very friendly and willing to spend time with their patients. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Tran is an amazing doctor and her office is located in such a convenient location – new building too with lots of parking.
She’s a local and knows the area very well. She specializes in family medicine and answered all the questions I had for her – very patient. She has great bed side manner and is very knowledgeable in her area.
Unlike the other doctors I have seen (they seemed so rush), Dr. Tran takes the time to get to know me on a personal level (and follow up with some questions the next time I see her!), asking me about my personal life (outside of medicine), career, and upcoming vacations. She genuinely cares about her patients and if you’re looking for a new doctor or if you’re sick and tired of your current doctor, I highly recommend her!
