While we have almost equal numbers of Chinese, Filipino, Cambodian, Caucasians and Hispanics and many multi-racial families… we all share a common mission to help people follow Jesus and a vision to be a church filled with people who bless our neighborhood and world.
Life in Silicon Valley is never simple or easy. We all work many hours and deal with what seem to be insurmountable challenges at every turn. But when we worship Jesus and seek His presence we find inner peace and discover the meaningful purpose He has for our lives.
History
Established in 1908.
The Point church has been a ministering in San Jose for over a century. We have had five locations and are currently located in the Evergreen neighborhood at the top of Aborn Ave.
Interesting Trivia: As the Great Depression started, the ladies in the church began to minister to the community by feeding hundreds of children in the church basement during their school lunch hour. This ministry is credited in California history as the inspiration and start of California’s public school hot lunch program.

Greg G.
Manager
Greg Gates is the senior pastor of The Point church. Originally from Pasadena, CA he grew up in Brasilia, Brazil. Graduated from college in San Diego and seminary in Kansas City. Planted a church in Maine and has also pastored in Los Angeles and New York.
