Vanish Integrative Pest Control

Ryan has been great. We were invaded by ants. First the little guys came, then the big guys, then they both came at the same time. I tried some home remedy methods that didn’t work. That’s when I called Ryan. He explained ant behavior and how to reduce the population, then sprayed. Immediately their numbers went way down. We’re on a regular service with them now. Ryan stopped by yesterday to spray and I told him that I had a rat problem and had tried various traps without success. He brought out some enormous glue boards (I had tried the ones from Home Depot but they weren’t sticky and thick enough). This morning, after weeks of trying, we caught a big old rat. Thanks Ryan!

I called in for a consultation and the office woman was rude! no appointment was arranged because they’re «too busy».

This review is not about any work done by Vanish. I cannot rate their work because we never got that far. Instead, this review is about the customer service received from RYAN.
I called for service and was able to get an appointment for 1:00 pm on a Thursday afternoon. Oddly that morning, RYAN called (10:54am) and asked if he had scheduled my appointment «for today or Saturday?» I thought it was odd that he didn’t remember the appointment. I told him he scheduled it for «today», and he said ‘ohhhh ok’. I asked ‘does that mean you’re still coming?’, and he said yes, that he had just gotten mixed up and couldn’t remember which day but said he would see me at 1 pm. I then asked if there was anything specific I needed to do before his arrival and he said no that he would just be spraying the inside wall perimeter (‘where he can get to’), the window sills and the attic. So I figured I would clear my daughter’s room because she had the most furniture against the wall and if he would only spray areas he ‘could get to’, I wanted to make sure this room got a thorough spray. This task ended up taking me longer than I anticipated because the furniture was heavy. At about 10 minutes before 1:00, I jumped in the shower. At exactly 1:00 (if not before), and while drying off, I heard the doorbell ring. Wow, RYAN was prompt, right on time! So I rushed and threw on some clothes. Then I rushed downstairs, opened the door and nobody was there. I walked outside, then I walked to the sidewalk and there was nobody. I then went back upstairs to grab my phone to call him and noticed a missed call at 12:38 pm from him which I assumed was his ‘on my way’ phone call that some service people provide. I went ahead and dialed his number at 1:05 pm (this time is stamped on my phone!) and he answered. I asked if that was him who had just rang my doorbell and he sounded upset. He said he had waited long enough and drove away!!! REALLY? A whole 3 to 4 minute wait and he drives off? Are you kidding me??? Now I was angry. I mean, I had just spent a good deal of time moving heavy furniture to ensure a good spray in that area and now he wasn’t going to come because I took 3 minutes too long to answer my door? So I hung up and decided to call his office to voice a complaint. BUT FIRST, I went ahead and listened to his 12:38 voice message which, to my surprise, he said «I’M HERE!». OK now wait… RYAN NEVER gave me a window for arrival time. He didn’t say «12:30 to 1:30» or anything like that. He said 1 pm. RYAN NEVER even called to say he was going to be early. So I went with 1 pm and sorry but I don’t think answering my door at 3 min past 1 pm as being late! FACT IS, he arrived 22 minutes early and counted that as part of his ‘wait’ time. That’s so NOT fair! How was I supposed to know he was going to arrive early? I didn’t hear my phone ring at 12:38! I went ahead and called the office to voice my complaint. Julie answered. I told her my story and she said I wasn’t even scheduled on their books for 1 pm? She apologized for RYAN and said she would try to call him and ask him to come back but I told her no thanks, that I was just calling to voice a complaint and would she please alert the owners about his service AND that I would be leaving a negative Unilocal review.
At 1:47 pm, he called to leave me this angry voice message:

Come to find out, RYAN IS THE OWNER OF VANISH. Again, NO WORK WAS DONE. This is about what you will be dealing with IF YOU’RE 3 MIN LATE! GOOD LUCK!

With the drought our home was invaded by cockroaches. We called around trying to find an exterminator that could come out right away. While we were waiting for most of them to return our call, (the one company that did quoted us almost double the price) Vanish responded, quoted a very reasonable price and we had a technician out the next day! He was professional, polite and did a great job inside and out. That was over a month ago and we haven’t seen one cockroach since. We’ve signed up for their maintenance program and are very relieved to have our cockroach problem under control. And their office staff is wonderful too. Thank you Vanish!

Too Busy? Called for service and the Lady (Julie) who answered the phone said «He’s not taking on any new customers, he’s too backed up.» That’s unfortunate because I was ready to sign up for monthly maintenance. Look’s like I will be looking elsewhere for service.

I would highly recommend this company. The team is so professional, pleasant and hardworking.

I am using vanish services for about two years. When we moved to our new home, we had old tenant-​Ants, already living in our home. I am not a fan of ants or bugs for that matter. We search around and finally contacted vanish service. It was a very prompt response. Ryan, came by and inspected our home and patiently discussed with us our options. He came by next day and sprayed the home inside and outside. Since then I haven’t seen Ants inside our home (except one time, which I think was extremely exception and Ryan again came quickly and fixed that too).
Our community still crawls with Ants (specially during summer). But because we use periodic vanish service, we haven’t seen them inside our home.
I am extremely happy with their service and their quick response.

I have used these guys for maybe three years now. I had pied piper and mrs bug free and neither could ever kill ants.
Every year we had a huge issue. Since using Vanish we have not had any issues.
Ryan is prompt. Attentive, figures out my issue and takes care of it.
They are all very professional. I recommend them all the time.

I can’t say enough about Ryan and Vanish Pest. He is an expert on pest problems, is very pragmatic and responsive, and is an honest and ethical business person. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone having pest problems.
He fixed our rat problem and got me out of hot water with my wife!

The day I found a bug in my bed and several in the bedroom and feared they might be bedbugs, I called several pest control companies around 4 pm. Ryan called me back first, calling after business hours, and wisely asked me to send photos of the bugs to his iPhone. He carefully reviewed each photo while he kept me on the line and was able to confirm to me that none were bedbugs. What a guy! What service! I was able to sleep peacefully that night, thanks to Ryan.
He didn’t have to call me back after business hours, he didn’t have to spend all that time with me for free. And what a clever idea to ask me to send photos so he could diagnose from a distance and put my mind at ease. He is the best and I will definitely call him in the future for all my pest control needs!

I called Ryan, after finding him on Unilocal,about a possible rat problem. Our previous pest control company, big name company, sent a tech out and we walked around the property to only be told that not only did we not have rats that there was no way for them to get in. Still didn’t explain the scurrying sound I heard at night in the attic and the electricians confirmed that there were rat droppings, etc in the attic. Ryan stopped by that afternoon. Did a quick inspection pointed out over 20 areas where rats could be getting in and confirmed what the electricians found in the attic. He was fairly priced and did an extremely thorough job of getting rid of the rats, all 3 of them! They even offer an organic solution, rosemary oil, when they spray the house every month or so! Truly happy Unilocal help me find Ryan!

Fast, easy, gets the job done and affordable.
I had a wasp problem and Ryan knew it and took care of it.
Will have it on the list for other services in the future.

Got a call from Ryan at Vanish today. He was apologetic about my experience and also helped explain some mitigating factors (the Tech had a particularly bad day + Vantage provides a more thorough, high-​end service than some other pest control places, which is why their quote could be higher in this case).
I appreciate the personal touch and wish them well.

Like the two other reviewers, I am unable to reach them. Their email verification form fails every time and apparently has been for years. No fax number listed. We have great difficulty calling during business hours so if no email option, then we have to find another company. I will upgrade this review if they ever provide a working email option.

We called Vanish the other day because we had an issue with birds in the attic. Apparently, the wire vents in our attic were old and the birds pecked their way through the vents, therefore, hanging out in our attic.
We weren’t sure of who to call, but found other reviews here on Unilocal.Ryan, from Vanish came although he was a running late from another job. He had a busy day, but was able to come later that afternoon to put up new wiring over the attic vents. Ryan was suppose to come at 3pm, but ended up coming earlier. We told him it would be fine to come earlier, but to give us a call. He didn’t call and we found him and a team member in our backyard. It would have been nice to receive a call so we knew that he was on his way and would expect him.
Nevertheless, he came and was very efficient. He was able to take care of the vents and even fixed another vent that we didn’t discuss previously. My husband and I appreciated the thoroughness and would recommend him to others.
Should we have a pest problem again, Vanish will be on our top list to call. We were satisfied.

I heard some scratching in my attic and it was freaking me out. I called numerous pest control companies, many on the Unilocal list and found them all to be very unresponsive. The people at Vanish not only answered the phone, they also were ready to come by my residence right away. The guy actually came to the appointment 30 minutes early and got started right away.
They sealed all of the potential entrances and set traps. Their work was clean and efficient.

We have a big rat problem due to neighbors cypress trees. Once they invaded the garage, I was done. Called another pest control company but never got a call back. Called Ryan at Vanish and he came out that morning before going to a pre-​scheduled event. Very smart about critters and very patient with my sensitivity around a bad experience with TERMINIX several years ago when they almost killed my dogs because the guy was a dolt. Ryan gave us an estimate and came out the very next day (SUNDAY) to do the work. Awesome.

Ryan provided prompt service for the small terrorist that had invaded our home. He was VERY knowledgeable and advised us well about what we should do. I called him on a Saturday late afternoon and he came at the end of his workday. We called him Monday to remove the varmint that had been successfully trapped in a trap he provided. He came over that evening to remove it. I’m please with his service and would highly recommend his company.

I’ll spare you the details of today’s pest hunt, but let’s just say that the Vanish crew came promptly on the same day I called them. They were utterly professional even when we needed to take down a microwave oven that held the promise of rabid squirrels in its vent. They crawled into nooks and crannies of my home that I didn’t even know existed and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Truly five star service at a great price!

I for one am not a big fan of the creepy crawlies. Having a friendly, professional and consistent crew to come out to my home to take care of said creepies is wonderful. Vanish may be located in San Jose, but they consider Scotts Valley to be part of their territory and are spraying for bugs in my yard every other month.
There are companies locally located that I could use, but I know and trust Vanish Pest Control and couldn’t imagine working with anybody else.
