I love the photos of the girls on Unilocal,especially the ones wearing the platform high heels!

Now called «Thuy Em Café», this place was definitely much cleaner than the other one we visited earlier in the day. And the girls were much prettier. But again, there were only a couple girls working, and while they did make sure to keep up with our glasses of tea staying full, they pretty much just hung out at the register. Worth another trip back? Maybe, but only because our main server was total eye candy.

I know what you are thinking, it’s one of THOSE coffee shops. And you know what, keep thinking it. Cuz it IS one of THOSE coffee shops. And yes, the female waitresses are scantily clad. It must be more fun if you go on a weekend night, but it wasn’t too bad when we went. Honestly, the reason I’m giving it ⁴⁄₅ stars isn’t even for the service/​atmosphere or gimmick of being one of THOSE coffee shops.
The service wasn’t spectacular. We didn’t receive any warm greeting or extensive detail on the menu items. Our waitress was friendly, but not conversational. When we first sat down we received a plastic cup with a quarter of an inch of water in it. Is this code for something? Someone help me out.
The atmosphere is a little intimidating. There are multiple tables in the majority of the open room with scattered chairs, nothing fancy. Along the walls there are video gambling machines with more comfortable booth looking seating. The place is filled with smoke and can be stiffling. There is little ventilation despite being one large open room. They have tvs all along the walls playing music videos.
What I love about this place is based solely on the one drink i ordered while there. I got a fresh coconut smoothie, that wasn’t a smooth at all. They put fresh coconut flesh and juice in with shaved ice. AND IT IS THE SINGLE MOST REFRESHING DRINK I HAVE EVER HAD. hands. down. it might have been the overwhelming taste and smell of smoke filling my lungs, but once i had the first sip of that drink, i felt like i was in on a beach smelling the fresh sea air. Absolutely delicious.

Was in the area with a few friends shopping for furniture and decided to come here for some coffee. Obviously it was a pick by the boys since there were so many better coffee places in the area that isn’t this type of business. Been to one years ago and had fun so I thought it would be fun. Walked in to a room filled with smoke… even though there was signs everywhere saying no smoking. The girl who sat us down did not smile at all and demanded to know what we wanted to drink. We asked for a menu and she said… ok, I’ll bring it but what do you want to drink. We asked for the menu again since not all of us wanted coffee, she gave us this stupid look and said…“WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DRINK?!?” So we said coffee and she left. There was 2 girls working, both didn’t crack a smile the entire time we were there… not just to us but to ANYONE. I guess if I had to wear 6 inch heels, work in a smoke filled room and be exposed to NO sun or air, I would be cranky too. The coffee was good, and the beed stew with bread was awesome, but the atmosphere and service doesn’t make it great. Maybe we came at a bad time or maybe we didn’t look rich enough, whatever it is, this place is a skip for me and the gang.

I was a bit wary about coming to one of these places with my co-​workers after some clubbing and dancing, some of my suspicions were confirmed, others were surprisingly shattered. First of all, sensory overload! Why are there so many TVs everywhere, Sports Channels and FOX News? And the patrons… Ummm ok…
Surprisingly I wasn’t put off by the girls in the scantily clad outfits, they seemed natural and un-​bothered by the ogling men as was with without coming off low class.
Now best of all was the coffee! The coffee was actually good, I’ve never quite had anything like it and I felt sobered up quickly after drinking a couple.

If you’re looking for «entertainment», don’t look at the employees wearing the skanky outfits. Look at the patrons. They’re the real entertainments. What a bunch of retards.
I was disappointed in the coffee. It sucks. This is just one of those place where they try to sell sex appeals and boring coffee.

OK. Waitresses were not attractive. The sister owners can hardly speak English, the place is smoking chimney and the owners as well as waitresses are rude and snob. With other viet coffee shops in every corner, I would not take my business there!

Delicious Vietnamese coffee and excellent food is served here. The beef stew with french bowl is particularly good and their grass jelly drink is top-​notch here. Oh yeah, there is also pretty good service here too ^)^

Sao, the L7 of Vietnamese Coffee Shops…
After popping my Vietnamese Coffee Shop cherry at Café Quyen and posting my Unilocal review on FB (
), one of my friends told me I should check out Sao because it was much better (i.e. hotter and friendlier waitresses). After seeing almost naked waitresses shaking what their mama or their plastic surgeons gave them on top of the tables at Café Quyen, I expected a similar experience at Sao; however, it was nothing but.
On Saturday, 6.25.11, I came to Sao with two of my guy friends at around 3:30 PM. Since Café Quyen was the only Vietnamese Coffee Shop I’ve been to at the time, it’s the only place I have a basis for comparison.

*“Normal” looking patrons, not like Café Quyen where they tend to look like older, sex-​deprived eye-​raping creepers

*THE GIRLS! *puts on guy hat* Yes, the pastie and thong wearing waitresses were diverse (there was a Caucasian, Latin, and 2 Asian Girls), but they weren’t attractive. I’m not trying to hate or be mean, but they looked very manly with boyish waif-​like figures so there was no junk in the hood or the trunk. Isn’t the point of going to these types of establishments is to see hot girls and T&A? Sao offered neither and the girls aren’t even remotely friendly.

Quite honestly, I was BORED at Sao. The waitresses mainly sat in the corner on their phones and/​or moved around from time-​to-​time like Kate Moss clones on soma. Maybe that’s why my review is so ZzZzZzZz…

I love girls, girls, girls, girls… girls I do adore…
Okay, so I cant ask them to put their number on this paper, so that I can holla’ at them after I come off tour… but at least I can let some fresh juice go down smoother as a hot white girl bends over to clean the table in front of me.
The ass on this girl… I was shocked. Wasn’t «shanequa» booty, but it was still impressive.
The tea is free, the juice is good, and the price is right. That, plus good viet and american tunes on the giant TV’s make for a nice Saturday afternoon in SJ.
Def hit this up again AND telling all my male and female friends about it.
Only bad thing: These girls dont get paid enough. I heard they average about $ 14/​hour (cash), which is dirt for being near to half nude.

This place is CRAZY! The coffee is good and the fresh squeeze orange juice is great. The Bare-​ristas are pretty and most of them smile. They do refil your tea glass often.
The décor is bad, not everyone smiles and not the best place I have been to.

I just recently discovered this coffee shop. It is a hidden gem in the Little Saigon area (Story & McLaughlin).
The waitresses here are friendly and they always refill your tea (both ice tea and hot tea). Yes, they provide you ice tea plus a hot pot of tea. What other coffee shops would do that? The waitresses are nice and friendly.
Now that’s what I called «Service with a smile». :=)
But wait there’s more. Besides the waitresses serving you the coffee and tea, the beautiful, young lady boss also rolls up her sleeves and helps out. She is also very nice and friendly. She even sits at your table and chit chat with you. She treats the customers like her friends.
This is definitely a cool place to hang out and chill. The only thing I don’t like is the smoking inside the shop. But the positives out weights the negative.

Good spot to hang out. If Megan (one of the white girls) works there ask her to make you a coffee with hazelnut, i discovered it flirting with her and it turns out to be her favorite drink and she makes it the best, the other girls dont know the proportions and screw it up.
Cute waitresses, awesome uniforms *wink wink* and pretty decent deals with the drink and food combos.
only thing preventing the fifth star is the place needs a few fans one or two around the room or a big one near the door to help cool the place down. When it gets crowded it gets noticeably hotter and it doesnt help that the TVs generate heat on their own.

Of all the coffee shops I went to, this is my currently favorite place. Not that it has better coffee or killer sandwich or anything like that. Just simply because I enjoy having white chicks serving me coffee. One thing I noticed was the white waitresses are friendlier and definitely work harder than the Vietnamese chicks at other places. It’s definitely something sets Vi Sao apart from other coffee joints. My fav girl are Tiffany & Megan (not Fox).
