Wax On Wax Off

Sadly, I’m here to report the same experience as so many others: the technicians never showed up for my appointment and I can’t reach the company either through email or the phone. The website originally linked to through Groupon no longer exists and one of the provided phone numbers has been disconnected. Certainly looks like a scam.
On the bright side, for less than $ 100 I’ve learned 2 valuable lessons that I hope might help others in the future:
1. NEVER redeem your Groupon voucher (i.e. give the company your voucher number, thus making it so you can’t cancel it through Groupon any more) until AFTER you’ve received the goods or services. If the company asks for it up front when making an appointment, then just CANCEL the Groupon and get your money back.
2. ALWAYS look around on Unilocal and other websites for that business beforehand.

I would give it a negative if I could.
To start off, I followed the instructions to email them with my information filled out. No response for 3 weeks. I ended up calling the number listed on the voucher. I was «lucky» enough to get an appointment scheduled. On the day of the appointment, a grumpy guy showed up at my door, no hello, not a word from him. He «chinned» me to unlock my car so he can access. I can deal with the attitude, but expect a clean car when he was done. Boy, was I wrong. The front of my car still had dusts, didn’t even look like he washed it. When I pointed it out, he took 1 minute to wipe it down, which tells me that he didn’t even bother to wipe any of it to begin with. The inside of the car, especially on the dashboard, had a layer of grease that made my meter very hard to read. The back bumper was also not washed. All of this, I can deal with… When my sister discovered a scratched tint on my back window, I was FUMING. My sister was the first to sit in my back seat after the car wash and discovered it. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE, I BEG of you, to stay AWAY from this place.

This «company» is a total rip-​off! I purchased a Groupon for an auto detail and scheduled the appointment for 5 weeks later. As the appointment date approached, I called them 6 different times, leaving voice mails each time, to confirm the 9:00 A.M. Monday appointment. They returned NONE of my calls. I took a chance and took a half day off work that Monday to wait for them just in case. They didn’t show and still haven’t returned any of my calls more than a week later. Groupon credited me the full purchase amount to use toward future Groupons so I give them 4 stars (though they should have better screened this company before doing business with them).

HUGE scam. Groupon should be ashamed as well as anyone else representing this sham of a company. I would write more about my experience but it has already been written. I would propose a collective BB complaint and public boycott of Groupon and any other selling their service until the scumbags get run out of business for good!!!

I’m writing this review without having even experienced the actual car detail, because after reading all of the other poor reviews I have to concur. I have been trying to make an appointment to use my Groupon for months (and it has now since expired), and have yet to receive an email or phone call back. They do not seem very professional in how they handle their customers thus far, and after reading all the reviews, I can’t say I’m looking forward to the actual detail (if it ever happens). Will update if I ever do get the car detailed!

You get what you pay for. Groupon coupon for $ 79.00
Service was very bad. Waited 2 and ½ months and one person arrived at 6:20 PM Friday evening and was done by 7:30 PM. Was supposed to arrive at 12:30 PM.
Just enough time for a quick wash, wax, armorall the inside and wash carpets. Job was rushed and there was wax globs on the car. Armorall spots on inside winshield.
Somehow the guy activated all my engine sensor lights, which needed to be reset.
Recommend using a local establishment that you can personally discuss any issues with at the vendor’s place of business.
Run from this one and check Unilocal reviews before buying a coupon.

‘Gaze’ is back, this time with new business called «PINK MOBILE CAR WASH.»
I bought a $ 70 Groupon for an auto detailing from this new business. Yes, I checked Unilocal before I bought, but no reviews so I thought –OK, a new business, I’ll give them a try.
Well, I took the day off work and just waited 4 hours for an appointment that was confirmed yesterday by phone and in an email — however, NO SHOW, NO CALL. I’ve tried to call Gaze 3x and I’ve emailed just as many – no response!
But here’s the real ‘kicker.’ It was not difficult for me to learn that ‘Gaze,’ the manager of Pink Mobile Car Wash, has also had two other similar businesses in the past two years –both with equally abysmal performance records (Fresh Service and Wax On Wax Off. 90%+ of reviewers on Unilocal had poor service if someone did show up, or were frustrated, like I have been by NO SHOW, NO CALL.)
Three businesses in three years — each time pitching her company to Groupon or Social Living – sell hundreds of vouchers – takes the money – and then doesn’t deliver. Within a several months, Unilocal and other social media sites are flooded with bad reviews of the latest company, so she simply starts another company with a new name — and the whole cycle starts again. This has all the makings for a scam!

I purchased a Groupon for their service. You have to schedule at least 1.5 months in advance, that I did. They provide 4 hours window so you have to keep waiting for them. And yes, they also ask you to pay extra $ 32 to bring water supply. This all would have been fine if they ever showed up. There is no correspondence from them AT ALL before or after the appointment even if they didn’t show up.
Wait, that’s not it. The above thing happened 3 TIMES!!! Every time you call to ask for explanation, they have NOTHING to say. Nobody knows what happened and why they missed the appointment. I wasted so many hours because of their 4 hours appointment window.
And of course, every time you reschedule after calling them about them missing their appointment, there is not any effort on their side to make up for it. Forget about them even apologizing for it. It’s «Who cares» kind of attitude they show. They would still give you next appointment at least 1.5 months to 2 months out!
UNBELIEVABLE! Haven’t seen such horrible customer service before. I had to get my Groupon refunded for Groupon bucks. If you see a deal from them, save your self and don’t fall for it.

The folks gave me an appoitnment 2 months post to the call I had made with the voucher. At the appointment date since it was middle of the day I had to take a half day and work from home to accomodate them. They did not show up for the appointment sent an email and called them up. Ofcourse no one is there to respond to their messages as well. Money wasted and the voucher shows up as Used !

This vendor is awful.
You have to schedule 2 months ahead, ok.
Date of appointment is past when my Groupon expires, sketchy.
Day of appointment comes, there has been no correspondence at all, odd.
Had 8:30 appointment, by 9:00 no one here. Call them and they say they are running late (not sure how that is possible on the 1^st appointment of the day), they will be there at 12:00. Annoying that this happens and that the person is rude, but whatever.
12:00 comes and goes no one show. 2:00 give them a call, office is closed. Now I’m ticked. Waiting all day for this.
For kicks I start reading recent reviews on Unilocal,first time since I bought the Groupon, and each review is worse and worse with people even complaining that they damaged their car.
I don’t care if I have to eat the money I paid to Groupon, these people are not touching my car.
Update: Groupon gave me the refund. Unfortunately they keep sending out more Groupons for these guys even after all the complaints, so expect more bad reviews.

Lesson Learned
1. MUST DO — LOOK at Unilocal reviews before buying a cheap deal on the deal sites
(group/​living social/​etc)
I always used to do that, but somehow I missed on this one and wasted 65 $.
Bought the coupon for a 225 $ worth of car detailing for 65 $.
What did I get — a dirty car wash, not even worth $ 20.
Had to wait for 3 months to get that done, schedule the appointment thrice, increase my blood pressure, Lesson Learned again :)

So my appt day came and went and guess what they never came, never showed, not so much as a phone call!!! How completely unprofessional, I will be contacting Living Social for a refund.

Very disappointed. Not a detail at all. They notified me they were done and I opened the back to my SUV. There was sand and dirt left in the back. They had completely forgotten about the back. The back windows had smudge marks so again they had not even washed.
I asked if they cleaned the leather and they said yes. It was very obvious to me they had not even tried to clean it. When they left (without me agreeing to a job complete, read below) I took some leather cleaner i had in my garage and did a quick clean. The obvious spots whiped away in seconds and the tougher spots I could scrub out.
Lastly, I am not sure what they did to the top of my car but it was spotted and horrible. I asked them to look at that again and they said it was sun damage. I said it was not there before they started cleaning so it can’t be sun damage. They tired to fight me on it and I asked them to please try to wipe it down. They took a clay cloth and about half of it whiped away in seconds. The then dryed it off and left it. Half fixed! I was inspecting the rest of the car and was about to ask them to catch some areas where they missed. They had actually packed up the van and drove off!
I swear I can’t make this up. User beware with this company.
I have tried to call them or email them to let them know I would like a refund but of course they never pick up the phone. The «contact us» tab on their website leads you to schedule and appointment or payment options. Wish teh BBB would get involved on ths one. They actually damaged my car.
My car is not that dirty. 90% of the time it is just me in the car. This «detail» is better described as a quick car wash.

First off, my wife and I purchased this via Groupon.
Our overall experience was very good with Wax On Wax Off. The two individuals that worked on my wife’s SUV were professional, friendly and did an excellent job. Our appointment was on a Thursday afternoon and they probably spent a good two hours vigorously cleaning every nook and cranny. They did such a excellent job that over the weekend two family members, who had previously ridden in our car actually asked if we had just bought a new car. The car was so clean they actually believed it was brand new. So from my experience their quality and cleaning effectiveness can’t be questioned.
The ease and convenience of this service is great and I prefer having my car cleaned in my driveway over going into a shop or central location.
The only speed bump was the scheduling. Yes it took some time to schedule but that is what I’ve come to expect with Living Social/​Groupon/​Etc. type deals. This is especially the case for a small company with limited resources. That being said, it was well worth the wait and since I didn’t have anything driving my schedule, this worked.
All considered I will definitely be using Wax on Wax off for my car in the near future.

I just had Wax On Wax Off come out to detail my truck. I was impressed at how easily I got them to come out. Spoke w/​Gaze this morning and told her that I wanted a detail the same day. She was able to get them to come out within a few hours. Given the nightmare reviews below regarding no shows and late shows, I’m relieved I got the opposite with on time service. I was a bit surprised when they came out in a Carpet Cleaning Van which made me quite skeptical. Not to mention paying them by check made out to a completely different company, «Fresh Services».
I only give them 3 stars because I thought I was getting a real deal. I got the LS deal for $ 79 which is a value of $ 320. I have to tell you that you get what you pay for! I typically go to Classic Car Wash and pay around the same amount & I truly think I get a better job done at Classic. I thought I was getting a $ 320 value deal which was informed to me by Gaze that I would get «buffing» too. When I asked Bernard, the guy who cleaned my car at the end about whether or not he buffed by truck, he was a bit shocked and said that I would have to pay extra and what I was asking for was a $ 350 value! Again, didn’t even feel I got the $ 320 value to begin with. Sadly, i don’t think they did any clay application either (which was included).
Bottom line: not really a deal. truck is clean, mats are clean, interior is clean. The top of my truck wasn’t even attended to, i see spots :-(

They cleaned inside the vents, and most of the leather is clean. I am detail oriented and I can catch any small detail. It’s not worth $ 350, the $ 18 car wash on Story & Capitol Expwy does a better job on the windows, they forgot to vacuum the trunk and clean the trunk grooves, Capitol & Story does this all the time. On the plus side, I only had to wait a day for an appointment and they came early which I liked! It took them maybe 2 hours, no problem if you’re at home. They wanted cash, which is fine with me, but not cool for my bf who needed to use a card.

Should be a ZERO stars for this one. No return of numerous phone calls — used their web to book — but have to wait four weeks for them to come out. What ???
Thank God it was purchased through AmazoLocal and they gladly refunded my monies. I told Amazon they need to do a better job of screening to make sure poor service like this does not happen to others. Never again no matter what the price.

First of all, I have no idea how good/​bad their actual detailing services are — as it hasn’t happened yet.
So I cannot comment on their detailing capabilities however the convenience factor of not having to drive somewhere is SOOOOO heavily overshadowed by the absolute inconvenience of dealing with their administration and schedule.
Our initial appointment was scheduled 4 weeks out (annoying but understandable… bad on me for not checking with them before buying the voucher). It then rained on the day the appointment was to occur. We did receive an email stating they would get back to us about scheduling a new date.
They never did.
We emailed them… and then they called back… and now it is another 4 weeks before our appointment — receiving the same spot in line as anyone else calling in for the first time today and behind those that reserved last week. So we’re looking at a December detailing date when we purchased the voucher IN AUGUST.
They may have fantastic service… but had I known that it would be 4+ weeks to schedule an appointment (nowhere on the groupon was that stated) and that their reschedule policy is what it is, I never would have purchased the voucher. I would recommend against doing so from October through April simply due to that reason…
I’ve spent 3 times as much of my personal time dealing with them as it would have taken for me to simply drive to a well-​known detailing shop and walk to a starbucks…
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me…
They won’t get a second chance.

I bought a voucher through Groupon. It took few days to get a hold of Wax On Wax Off as the phone number on groupon was different from the number on the vendor’s website. I was then instructed to schedule an appointment online for which no appointment was available for three weeks out.
Couple days prior to the appointment I started calling the vendor to confirm appointment. There was no response and as suspected they were NO SHOW on the appointment. I was later contacted by a lady who scheduled a second appointment. Again they were NO SHOW. This time there was no phonecall.
My groupon voucher was marked as redeemed. I have filed a complaint with Groupon and as a follow-​up this review to warn other customers and get vendor’s attention.
