Woodenbridge Custom Cabinets & Granite

Updating. Job completed. Exceeded expectations. High end work and excellent customer service too. Would use them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended for designing the kitchen of your dreams.

Woodenbridge did our kitchen cabinets. We were impressed by their attention to detail, the quality of their work, and their follow-​thru to make sure our cabinets looked as good in our home as they did in the drawings. The cabinet cost was only a little more than pre-​made cabinets, and we thought it was a huge advantage to have the company that made the cabinets install them. Our kitchen was hard to fit, so having custom cabinets was essential. They were helpful in loaning us samples, and even making up a special sample so we could see exactly what our cabinets would look like. They were responsive throughout the process, and were good at keeping us informed of timing.
We also had Woodenbridge fabricate and install the counter tops — again, it was great to have everything done from one place and to have only one place to contact. And they did a great job with the counter tops as well.
Our only two issues were the final drawings dimensions didn’t line up properly and we had a very hard time reviewing them, and sometimes we had to call to find out what was happening, but they were always very good about returning calls.

Woodenbridge is superb and I can’t say enough about the team! We are on the last phase of having our custom cabinets installed and are thrilled with the results.
We researched so many places via Unilocal,friends recommendations, etc and the minute I began looking around their website, it caught my eye. My guy and I wanted a modern Italian, sleek look with push-​in cabinet doors (no handles), lots of storage and a two person desk. Sounds impossible, right? Nope! We got it! Exactly the way we wanted and it’s beautiful.
Tammy, David and Robert assisted us through the entire process, however when I met their installation crew, I fell in love with them, too! One evening after working all day, one of the guys said that they’d stay there all night if they needed – of course they didn’t need to, but what employee says that? Only a happy one.
Another thing to note is the professionalism. David has had to talk with a couple of other contractors I hired for other projects over conference calls and he’s the ‘polite’ one. There’s a certain manner of speaking between contractors and sometimes it comes off as blunt/​rude, but David inserts himself in just the right way. It’s a finesse that I wish more people had.
I highly recommend Woodenbridge and we will use their services again. Now that the cabinets are up, my old kitchen cabinets look shameful!

Dave and Tammy were wonderful to work with. They finished on time and within budget. Their lead in-​house contractor, Denny, was excellent. He always went above and beyond in getting the job done. Dave, their cabinet installer, was very open to change orders and always completed them on the spot. All in all, it was an excellent experience and now we have a gorgeous new kitchen that we are thrilled to share with others as well a kitchen the envy of all of our neighbors.

We are in a process of rebuilding our house and Woodenbridge was one of the names on the list of the local kitchen & bath cabinet makers my contractor provided. I started out by exploring their website and after I could not view some of the samples online at the broken url link, I drove over to visit the showroom in hopes of viewing in person some of the samples I was interested in. Robert did not sound like he was knowledgeable about the content of the company’s website, however, he did try to understand my vision for the master bath cabinetry. He concluded that the finish I was trying to achieve would be highly expensive and it would take him quite a bit of time to research it.
To preview an alternative and to see whether I’d be interested in a similar product, he took me into the workshop and showed a vanity that was being finished. Although that vanity was not precisely what I was looking for, I was willing to modify my criteria if my first choice became too costly or time-​consuming to produce. I was excited that Robert intuitively pointed me in the right direction and told him that I would like them to make exactly the same vanity. I asked him about the cost and Robert stated that the 72″ vanity he showed was offered to a customer for $ 1500 but since mine would be 12″ longer, my estimated price would be up to $ 2000. This price was in line with an estimate from another cabinet maker who wouldn’t do the finish onsite, so Woodenbridge indisputably seemed as a much more convenient option. I also asked Robert to include a matching linen cabinet into the quote. He told me that he would have the quote ready in a week. He also said that they could run a kitchen estimate for me when I come back to have the bath cabinetry designs drawn. Since I had already created the kitchen drawings, it could save them time to not have to do the design from scratch.
A week passed and I had not heard from Woodenbridge. By the end of the second week, on November 20, I called to follow up on the quote. Robert said he had not worked on it, but told me he could get it to me shortly. When I received the quote an hour later, I called Robert to clarify a few items on the quote. After I deducted installation and delivery charges, the estimate was still $ 900 above what I was verbally quoted two weeks prior during the in-​person visit to the shop. This amount was called «extras». Robert explained that the charge was for 6 drawers. When I retold him the content of our conversation during my visit and asked him why there was nearly a $ 1000 deviation from the originally quoted $ 2000 price, Robert insisted that that conversation had not taken place and he had no recollection of any numbers we discussed. I understand that he sees plenty of customers and may not keep track of everything being said. However, for the same reason while researching multiple vendors for numerous products we are buying for the construction, I do keep detailed notes of all my conversations so that I when I am ready to make purchasing decisions, I can have all the necessary information ready and in one place. I pointed out to Robert that I have notes detailing the cabinetry requested and his verbal quote, but he insisted that he could have never said that and redirected me to David, whom he introduced as the owner.
David accused me of fabricating the content of my previous conversation with Robert, told me that I had no proof and no written contract, and that a $ 1500 vanity never left his shop in all of his business’ history. I was willing to write off this incident as an error in their rushed quote and misunderstanding of both sides, but in response to all of my questions, all I received was a lengthy, angry tirade. But the tirade has not addressed the following: why David’s business wasted 2 weeks of my time, then came forth with an estimate so much off from the original quote with no change in the parameters, and why Woodenbridge was unwilling to hear the customer and willing to forgo a large order I was about to place with his business. I stated to David that the manner in which his company operates reminds me a bait-​and-​switch practice and that I believed that his prospective customers should be aware of such potential pitfalls and his general customer service and managerial skills. Suddenly, David said that he would have to call me back. It has been 4 days and I have not heard from him.
The purpose of this review is to report a very disappointing experience I had with Woodenbridge and alert prospective customers to the manner of how poorly their inquiries and complaints may be handled by both the company’s staff and owner.

This company is first rate from top to bottom. Our contractor (who is also excellent) chose them to manufacture the cabinets for our new kitchen.
The owner Dave was very knowledgeable and helpful in design and materials selection. In particular, he guided us on which options were likely to risk repair problems in the future even thought they sounded like a great idea.
His employees were first rate. They were all extremely careful and did an excellent job. They took a great deal of pride in their work. I was extremely impressed. Once the cabinets were installed Dave personally inspected the installation and made adjustments and corrections.
They stand by their work. A couple of the cabinets were not in accordance with the design plans. Woodenbridge promptly removed the incorrect cabinets and built new ones which were promptly installed. They did so without argument or issue.
I would definitely use them again. This company, its work and employees exceeded my expectations in every respect.

My experience with Woodenbridge should be broken up into two parts.
Part 1-​Consultation and Design work: 5 stars. We came in with an initial design done on an IPad app and David helped us to turn it into a gorgeous kitchen. He had great input on the best layout, cabinet setup, and all other small details that add up to a great final product. He was prompt with an estimate and provided final drawings as expected.
Part 2-​Installation: 2.5−3 stars. This is where things got… unfortunate. We were purchasing custom walnut countertops and had to order immediately due to 6 week lead time. As soon as I signed the final Woodenbridge drawings, my contractor ordered the counters per exact dimensions. In the meantime, David re-​measured after demo of original kitchen and sized up some of the cabinets without notifying us. So, when the countertops arrived, they were too short. This led to about a 2 week delay in the project while Woodenbridge modified one of the cabinets and some of the countertops.
The installation was sloppy so his guys had to come out multiple times to fix things, and it was very difficult to work with Tammy to coordinate this. There were some significant installation flubs that were quite obvious, yet we still had to follow up repeatedly to point them out and get them resolved. It was just overall very difficult to get someone on the phone/​to respond to an email, which is poor customer service in the middle of a big job.
Bottom line: The cabinets do look great and everything was finally resolved after a lot of frustration and unanswered emails. Did I mention that we have two kids under 2 and were living in ²⁄₃ of our house for 3 months with no kitchen? Yeah.

Woodenbridge recently installed a gorgeous statement piece for us. It’s a 9-​ft tall library bookcase containing a secret door for access to an inlaws quarters. It was quite an undertaking!
Having seen bookcase doors in the past, I had 2 main concerns. One was making sure we had the right hardware solution to prevent the door from sagging from the weight of the books. And two, was making sure there were no tripping hazards going through the threshold.
Dave’s team delivered magnificently! The hardware is strong enough to accommodate weight of a grown man standing on the edge of the bookcase door; and, the threshold makes a smooth transition without any tripping hazards. Moreover, the detail work is beautiful.
Although I did meet with another cabinet maker, from the start, Dave showed up promptly and courteously. He patiently met with me 3 times to develop a plan and answer my questions. His pricing was competitive, but most importantly, his expertise was unsurpassed. I can strongly recommend Woodenbridge without any reservations.

Who knew that our small 10×10 nook could turn into an amazing custom kitchen?! Dave and his team took our ideas and made them into a reality. Don’t take Dave’s expertise for granted! He’s been in the business for quite some time now and knows the ins and outs of it all. We greatly appreciated his suggestions and his responsiveness. The team was very professional and arrived on a timely manner each day of the kitchen project. I highly recommend Woodenbridge for your custom cabinetry needs.

Woodenbridge is wonderful, I can’t say enough about how happy we were with them.
From the initial design consultation with Dave Baeza we could tell we were in excellent hands. He helped us bring what we already had in mind to life with creative design ideas, features and techniques, and suggested some new things that really improved the utility and attractiveness of our very «compact» (read = tiny) kitchen.
From plan signoff to project completion Tammy took great care of us. She always kept us apprised of where we were in the process, what was up next and what if anything we needed to do, and when we had questions she responded right away.
When the cabinets showed up we were blown away by the quality — they made us want to redo existing cabinets that we used to think were pretty nice! The granite fit to a tee, and the seams are invisible, a lot cleaner than other granite work we’ve had done in the past.
The guys that installed the cabinets (Mario) and granite countertops (Pedro) were prompt, professional and skilled. They showed up exactly at the scheduled time, protected surrounding areas nicely, and left the work area cleaner than they found it. They worked very efficiently, and excelled at coming up with great solutions to the little «wrinkles» that come up with projects like this, clearly explaining our options so together we could decide on the best course of action.
I will definitely use Woodenbridge for any cabinets I need in the future (have a few projects in mind, can’t wait!) and highly recommend them for your custom cabinet or countertop projects.

Woodenbridge did an amazing job designing and installing a new granite countertop in my kitchen. We had a broken pipe under the kitchen sink which required us to gut the entire kitchen due to water damage. Once we had the cabinets installed, Pedro came by and made templates for each of the sections of cabinets. Within a few days, he was ready to install the granite. Because of a tricky garden window we have that sticks out from the kitchen, he had to custom cut the granite to fit all of nuances of the window. It was a very difficult, tedious task to make cut after cut so that it would fit snuggly, and it looks fantastic! He spent a ton of extra time making sure the fit was just right on all pieces and also buffing the seams to make them practically disappear.
We had purchased 2 slabs of granite and Pedro worked the templates out so that we would still have a large enough piece of granite to use elsewhere if we wanted to. Talk about going above and beyond! The quality of craftsmanship is exceptional and we get tons of compliments on how great it looks. I cannot recommend Woodenbridge enough for their excellent work.

After receiving quote from 7 – 9 contractors, I decided to pick this place. David knows exactly what I was looking for and drew the design. I love it. From the beginning to the end, he helped me a lot. I would recommend to anyone. I am looking forward to work with David in the future.

David at Woodenbridge designed our kitchen and it turned out amazing. Everyone that comes to our house is amazed by the beautiful island, granite countertops, and the cabinets. David and Tammy were very responsive, friendly and worked hard to finish the job on a tight schedule, to make us very happy! I highly recommend Woodenbridge to anyone who wants a kitchen makeover.

My wife and I hired Woodenbridge to design, build and install a library in a bonus room we have upstairs on our second floor. We are both bookworms, and have books stashed all over the house. We’ve been used to standalone bookcases for most of our lives, and we wanted to treat ourselves to a real library where we can sit and enjoy our paper books (as well as maybe the occasional ebook now).
We looked at three companies and selected Woodenbridge. David’s quote was in the middle of the pack. We looked at one other local firm in San Jose, plus a very high-​end firm up in Marin. We really had no idea what it would cost so it was hard to budget in advance. After the quotes came back, we decided that Woodenbridge was the right mix of cost and service. I do feel that we ended up with a better design through the selection process, we ended up combining ideas we got from all three vendors.
Dave was great to work with, he came out on time and was creative in his approach to the space. His 3D CADs were delivered on time, and were more complete than the drawings we got from the other vendors. My wife and I have crazy schedules, so we appreciated and used Dave’s ability to conduct web design sessions on the CADs in realtime. We had one in person meeting in his shop, everything else we did remotely so it was convenient. I would say that we had established some trust and also gotten across our design goals in person, it would have been difficult to do everything remotely without that first.
Installation was done a couple weeks early, we had set a deadline of mid-​May since we had my family coming to town for Memorial Day. The whole thing went in 2 days, the units were fabricated in large sections and then joined here. Unless you know how it was designed, you’d think both walls were one solid piece of wood.
We’re delighted with the work, it looks great and has already become a second home in the house for us. We feel that if we ever sold the house, that we’ve improved the value even though we didn’t add to the square footage of the house.
We would hire Dave again.

We have utilized Woodenbridge on several of our projects. They are unsurpassed in customer service. Their process is smooth, the staff friendly and helpful and their field employees are master craftsman and highly creative. They are immediately responsive. Their cabinet and granite/​stone detail is amazing. We love working with them and our clients love their products. I would highly recommend Woodenbridge for all your cabinet and counter top, stone needs.

My brother-​in-​law recommend that I take a look at Woodenbridge for cabinets for a decent size remodeling job. The job included a full kitchen, two full baths and some additional pieces around the house.
All I can say is that I am extremely happy — especially I consider myself as being somewhat particular. David and his team gave us wonderful service. He helped me design my kitchen and bathroom to optimize space and usage — things I would have never even thought of. Tammy is extremely courteous and always reply to my emails. They were on time and were upfront about everything. The quality is worth every cent. Everything turned out great! They really stand behind their product.
As a side note, I did some «cheap» cabinets from some chinese source in the laundry area. I kick myself everytime I walk in that room.
Also, I did my granite countertops elsewhere thinking that I can save some money… I sorta wish that I didn’t do that.

After researching many cabinet companies (about 17) my husband and I decided to have Woodenbridge create our new kitchen for us. Our last cabinet experience (for our two bathrooms) was terrible and mismanaged so our criteria for cabinet making was extremely high. There are several practices that put Woodenbridge on our list.
1. The cost of the cabinets are comparable to what you would spend at stores like Home Depot or Lowes… only they build ALL WOOD cabinets!
2. They custom build for all types of spaces. We have a smaller home that had a difficult galley kitchen to design. We were told by many vendors that our house was too small of a project for them to do. (I don’t think $ 20,000.00 in cabinets is considered a SMALL job– do you?) David (the owner) was able to follow my mental concept and translate it to a wonderful working space.
3. Woodenbridge utilizes technologies that set them apart from everyone else. They have a CAD system that takes the final drawing and can turn it into an exact model of the cabinet. I was actually able to view and make changes of the kitchen design on my computer at home while discussing the project with David on the phone! Time and gas savings!
4. Woodenbridge does custom stains. I had them match a sample of another piece of furniture in my home to get the color just right. Most cabinet makers make cabinets but don’t apply the paint or the stain. You have to find an outside source for that. Not only do they do it all for you but they keep your color on record so if by chance something happens to the cabinet (water stains, chipped doors, whatever) they can match it down the road!
5. Woodenbridge only uses top notch hardware and cabinet doors. Some companies we interviewed didn’t want to use the «soft close» hardware because it was more expensive for them. My cabinets are easy to use and I never have to listen to any banging of cheap doors!
6. Woodenbridge is professional from start to finish. Contracts are easy to understand and are clear and concise. Products are completed and installed on time. All finishing details are taken care of in a timely manner.
There are many companies that do not provide the kind of full service Woodenbridge provides. The owners, David and Tammy are great to work with. Designing and remodeling your home is an extremely stressful endeavor. They make it so much easier and provide the kind of calm guidance and reassurance you want from a cabinet maker.
My kitchen is just beautiful to look at… warm and inviting. Just the way I always dreamed it would be!

I was in the market for Cabinet maker that had enough experience and/​or the mind power to handle my Custom Cabinetry needs. I needed a Cabinet maker that could either figure out a custom scenario or has experience with the finer details of cabinetry. Another requirement was to have a cabinet maker that I could trust to provide a level of service to my customers so that I could focus on the other aspects of Home Remodeling. I was looking for a Team Player. Somebody with Integrity. I know, allot to ask for but I wasn’t about to drop my rising standards for business practices.
I heard about Woodenbridge from another General Contractor and also saw Woodenbridge’s profile on Diamond Certified. I decided to give them a call and set up a meeting and discuss their philosophy about Cabinetry. I was impressed as we discussed scenarios that you would encounter on a job site and how we would take care of them. We also discussed the building process and design. We took a tour of the wood shop and I was able to see the machinery and also the coloring process for staining and painting. I felt comfortable talking with David and soon started to use them for all of my Custom Cabinetry needs. I now have my Cabinet maker.
I have used Woodenbridge to build Kitchen Cabinets, Bathroom Vanities, and Laundry. I have also recommended them to Home Owners looking for Entertainment Centers, Vanities and Cabinetry as I know that they will take care of my Customers.

I do consulting for multiple contractors and I use them for every single project and haven’t had a complaint yet. I currently have 4 projects for full interior cabinetry including kitchens, baths, entertainment centers, fireplaces, and closet inserts and everything is running according to plan. Even when things go wrong, Dave is quick to assure me that they will be taken care of and I can simply say that I haven’t been left unsatisfied yet. I recommend Dave for any size project for any type of budget. They are family owned and treat me and my clients with respect. Nothing but praise for Dave and his shop.

I was very disappointed with David’s attitude. He was in a hurry to get me off the phone in order to talk to a designer that had an appointment after mine. He was late calling me for my phone appointment and cut me off early to talk to someone else. He recommended a contractor that came out to my house. He was very rude as well. I asked David to see if he could help me get the cost down a little and when he sent me my second estimate it was a few thousand dollars higher. I am now working with a cabinet company that is top notch, kind, very helpful and for the same price that Woodenbridge quoted me I am getting so much more.
