Dunivin’s Towing Service

Roberto responded within 3 minutes of my call and was with him within 10 minutes. AAA and Dunivin’s got me home which was 50 miles away and 1.45 hrs in traffic. Their dispatch was professional, Roberto, the driver was great. You will be in good hands. Highly recommend them and AAA too!

My call fto AAA for assistance was answered by Dunivins Towing. The responder sent Kia was outstanding. His calm professional manner made the situation much less stressful. I don’t know about the full scope of service… however, Kia was exceptional.

Frank was awesome! We locked our keys in the car and he was there early (with several text updates). He was friendly, efficient, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you guys so much for allowing us to continue our day with this event being nothing more than a quick little bump in the road!

This is my first review here only to warn others STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
As of March 10 2016, AAA has filed a formal complaint against «Dunivin’s Towing»
You are able to refuse their service if AAA dispatches them to you
I called at 9:30 in the morning to get my car towed to my mechanic. The tow truck arrived on time and a driver named «Ish» received the car. My mechanic with traffic is one or two hours away maximum. Three hours later and there is no sign of the car at the shop. I call afterwards AAA and they say that the driver has marked the car as Delivered/​Completed. Fine. Call back my mechanic and he doesn’t sign of a truck on the street.
Call back to AAA they dispatch the driver who says he is just arriving. I say this is not acceptable and I need to talk to the towing service. A very rude representative at Dunivin’s towing picked up and said that he marked the delivery as complete because the car was getting «off the freeway». How does complete = off the freeway?
If my car is marked as delivered and after 30 minutes it still hasn’t arrived to my mechanic how is that complete? Forget the delivery, why did the trip take double? First he claimed it was because the driver had other «stuff to do». I asked him what that meant and he said «I don’t know». What? Then he suggested that is was because the driver had a flat tire. AAA did not contact me about a flat tire because they also were not notified. I’m signed up for all of the AAA alerts. To which his explanation was «I don’t have to tell AAA anything». Great! He tells me to relax and to not worry and the car is arriving now. I take his word, hang up, and I call back my mechanic after 5 minutes. Still no car! Call back to AAA again where a Supervisor has to contact their station and keep me on the line while I called my mechanic to make sure it was there for another time. Finally the tow truck arrived and my mechanic who was waiting for two extra hours reasonably asked to see the flat. Driver says «I don’t have to show you anything». So my mechanic checks all four tires they are all the same as the pictures I took of the tow truck when it left.
By far my worst towing experience. Very unprofessional, extending to lying to me and a AAA supervisor on the phone. Questions were often responded to with «it’s none of your business». When they are towing my car, who else’s business is it? They feel no obligation to the customer or company that they work for.

Whoa! This review is solely for Vince. I’ve unfortunately has my fair share of tows in my life. I can safely say that Vince is part of the top 2% of drivers you can get.
He understands how to tow a lowered car and is very careful and friendly.
If you need a tow I highly recommend asking for Vince here if you find yourself in south OC looking for a tow.

HORRIBLE. I called AAA to have my son’s car towed to a repair shop after a run-​in with a fence partially detached the bumper from his car. (Trying to drive home caused it to further detach.) Upon arrival at our location, the Dunivin’s driver informed me he couldn’t tow me without a police report. (THIS IS A BLATANT LIE.) I called the police and they came out and asked why we called them. (By this time, Dunivin’s driver had left.) When I told them the reason, they said it is NOT TRUE: they did not need to come out. So I call AAA back and ask again for a tow. After waiting for about an hour, with the police still on the scene to make sure there were no issues, the same driver showed up, and I finally got my tow. The police were able to validate my son’s story, confirmed the only damage was to my son’s car, and told me no report would be filed. Thank you for wasting not only 4 hours of my son’s and my time, but more importantly 4 hours of law enforcement’s time. I’m sure they had nothing more important to do than to sit around a parking lot. (And don’t even get me started about watching the driver run through stop signs and speed around corners while towing my son’s car!)

I’ve had AAA send these guys here for me twice, they got a man working there named Ish, if this guy shows up to help you, look up and know for sure there’s a god. This guy is a freak of nature, he solves problems and gets you on the road, I’ve been lucky enough to get this dude twice!

Great customer service. I had to get towed 40 miles from home and the driver was very nice.

Very happy with the service. Vince went above and beyond helping us get our car situation sorted. I would definitely recommend calling them.

I ran out of gas night before last (my bad) and called AAA roadside assistance. I was located at the corner of a MAJOR intersection. Shaun was dispatched to help me –anticipated arrival 10:55pm at the latest. It was either his first day or last day, hopefully for this towing service the latter. He was entirely unfamiliar with the area and had to be directed with a series of phone calls from me extending the wait time significantly. On arrival he got my cards then retreated to his truck for 20 minutes. I became concerned that something had happened to him and went to see. Eventually he put 3 gallons of gas in my car and asked for $ 9. I had a twenty and he had no change I would have given him the twenty gladly if the service had not been so bad. As it was I gave him the twenty just to get away.

My car wouldn’t start. AAA dispatched Dunivan’s Towing. Luis came out and checked the battery using a device. The device printed out a piece of paper that Luis showed me. Luis said that the charge was low and recommended I get a new battery. I agreed, trusting him. Luis put the new battery in. I paid $ 127.99 ($ 99.99 for the battery, $ 8 tax, $ 20 labor). I went to start up the car. The car still wouldn’t start. Luis was clueless and useless and said he had no idea what to do. I ended up calling AAA again asking for tow truck since Dunivan’s service truck was not capable of doing this. I asked for a refund since the battery was not the problem. Luis just looked at me and said «I can’t, you just bought it». SERIOUSLY? I bought the battery under your recommendation. UNBELIEVABLE. I paid $ 127.99 for nothing. NEGATIVE STARS if I could.
AAA dispatched another towing company. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the towing company but Aaron said that it was not my battery that was the problem but my starter (the real problem was Luis at Dunivan’s Towing). He did what he could using the tools he had and was able to start my car. Aaron was super knowledgeable and didn’t even charge me even though he works off commission. Thank goodness for moral, ethical people. Thank you Aaron, I wish I could write a Unilocal review about your service under your towing company.

My battery died in my garage. I’ve been a AAA member for 21 years and I don’t remember ever using it. A very nice lady asked me a few questions and dispatched Dunivans right away. I got two texts advising me of the time frame for arrival and a gentleman named Kia arrived in no time at all. He was so polite, I was almost taken aback. He quickly tested my battery, and I did need a new one. Before I knew it, he installed a new one, but not before he cleaned off the corroded terminals. I gave him my credit card, he gave me a receipt, and he was on his way. Such a pleasure to do business in such an efficient, friendly manner. This one encounter made my 21 year membership with AAA worth it.

Worst customer service ever. Lady yelled at me and told me to go call triple A because the wait was at least 3 hours. She’s incredibly rude and how they get any service is beyond me!

Worst towing experience ever! Tire blowout on Frwy Two right lanes were blocked due to construction and was able to veer to the right but once pulled over car battery died. To make matters worse cones were being removed to open lanes and car was stuck in first lane. AAA dispatched for assistance and Dunivins Towing showed up. Driver was in mid 50s and possibly the worst person to send. Obviously Frustrated on what needed to be done he began criticizing where the car died, Insulted me and stated what he would’ve done in my place and didn’t calm down until the officer had approached him to take care of these people and to get us off the road safely. At the mercy of this psycho, I held it together. If you call AAA for roadside assistance pray that they don’t dispatch Dunivins

The name of the company should be DUMB-ivans…(Located in San Juan Capistrano)
1:30 pm Dead battery. Called AAA, requested a tow; they then responded quickly but sent a young inexperienced kid who didn’t have any experience with Priuses. He attempted a battery charge with a portable jumper kit, but it wouldn’t take.
MISTAKE NUMBER ONE: Dumbivan’s failed to send an actual TOW TRUCK, just this kid in a small truck with portable jumpers, so subsequetly, he couldn’t actually tow me to the dealership… So I had to call AAA AGAIN, and have them request a tow truck, which they should have sent in the first place. LAME.
2:30 Another half hour goes by, and a second truck, a large flatbed shows up, with another youngish kid. He can’t put the car in neutral, cuz IT“S DEAD (as we know) and refuses to tow it «from my driveway», which is only 12 feet long. Liability for whatever dictates that they can only tow from the street. Again, LAME! Neither can this kid jump the battery with the cables, cuz they don’t reach… LAMENESS NUMBER THREE!!!
3:30 We call DUMBIVAN’s once AGAIN to have them send out THE THIRD GUY with the portable jumper. Wait yet another half hour. He gets it going finally, we load it onto the big flatbed and go.
Meanwhile, the service center closes at 5pm– I arrive at 4:15, (ALMOST THREE HOURS AFTER
I initially called AAA, for a service that normally takes 20 minutes!!!), crossing my fingers that they can do necessary diagnostics and repairs before they close for the weekend.
Borderline retards must be running this tow service!!!
Why wouldn’t they send a TOW TRUCK out to begin with, and avoid this comedy of errors!!! Request from AAA any towing company OTHER that this one… really stupid people!!!

I’m torn on this place. I’ve had to use them twice in the last week due to some ongoing issues with my car.
The first time was for a jump since my car battery died. I called AAA and they sent out Dunivin’s. They said he’d have a replacement battery for me and I’d be set. He was very nice and helpful and had a great attitude. He was very professional and checked my battery and the alternator to make sure it was just the battery. Unfortunately he didn’t carry the type of battery I needed so he couldn’t replace it. No worries, he was so helpful otherwise I didn’t mind.
Life got in the way and prevented me from trying to find the battery I needed until a few days after the first episode. The day that I finally got around to dealing with it, was a crazy day with work and with family. I didn’t have a ton of time to take it to the shop to get the battery changed or buy the battery and replace it myself. I called AAA and told them I wanted my car towed to the shop and I’d go to pick it up later. I had the whole thing set up, all I needed was Dunivin’s to tow it. The guy that showed up this time was completely lame. I needed my car towed and immediately this tow guy made it clear he didn’t want to take it. His line to me was «I’ll jump you and then you can drive it yourself». Uh, no, that’s why I called AAA and asked for a tow. His attitude made it clear he wanted to jump me and get out of there as quickly as possible. He made it painfully obvious he had no intention of towing me even though he knew that’s what I had requested. I didn’t really want to get into it with him, so I just had him jump me. His attitude was really surprising after the great service I had before from them. He did nothing but make a terrible day even worse. Stupid me thought requesting a tow would actually get me towed.

I called AAA because my car’s battery died. Dunivin’s came within 20 minutes to my work location. The tech named Joe was cheerful and did the work in a timely fashion. He tested my battery, showed the results, and I went ahead and replaced the battery with him. AAA discount for battery came out to around $ 100, and the tech charged a $ 45 install fee.

I accidentally locked the keys in my car, I called AAA and they said Dunivan’s Towing in San Juan Capistrano would be there within 30 minutes, Jorge the driver showed up within 20 minutes, he was very professional and got into my car in minutes with no damage at all. I was very impressed on the service they gave, I would definitely call them again if I needed their services.

This review is for our tow truck driver, Craig. My best friend and I broke down in a foreign city. He came and scooped us up. Told us about a mechanic that he knew, went to church with, and trusted. He was polite, thoughtful, and kind. We felt safe and well taken care of.
We had a great experience at the mechanic’s and are so grateful that Craig is the one who showed up to help us. Great guy. We wish him all the good in the world.
Judging from the other reviews and low number of stars for Dunivin’s– I’d say Craig is an asset to your company. I hope you take my review seriously and are taking good care of this Man.
