The Public Works Dept is basically in charge of maintaining and improving the city’s infrastructure. Their areas of responsibilities is Streets & Paving, Lighting & Traffic Signals, Sewer & Water Treatment, Trees & Trimming and Parks Department. The Men and Ladies that work in Public Works are deeply committed to providing superior services and maintenance to the city. Once a year they hold an annual BBQ and Chili Cook off to say thanks to theses employees. The different departments create their Chili to enter in the contest.
I got to taste each variant and they were pretty tasty. The menu for the BBQ was Bratwurst and BBQ Chicken with Macaroni and a Garden salad with Cookies for dessert.
They even added a Pie eating contest. It was a blast to watch.
Its also a great way for each Dept to meet and socialize.
