Decent boba tea place in San Leandro. You pick a drink, then you can customize it by sweetness, ice level, and toppings. Service is slow even if you are the first customer. This is not the place to get a drink at if you are in a hurry. Line can be out to the door. There’s a parking lot but can be hit or miss. Also, their five star is always «broken.» They should just go back to stamp cards. My goto drink: oolong tea topped cream/​30% sweetness with grass jelly.

Okinawa milk tea is pretty good here! The brown sugar gives it a toasty roasted flavor.

A good place to hang out with friends but the place is small and too many people come

I’ve been here countless times, and almost every time I forget to check in because I am in such a rush to get my hands on Rose Milk Tea. I guess it’s finally time for me to review San Leandro T4!
It’s a typical, casual boba shop setting which is cleaned regularly since I sometimes come in while they are doing the mid-​day clean up. I’ve seen this happen about two times.
I usually go for the Rose Milk Tea, 100% Sweet, and No Ice. I can’t handle too cold drinks and I have this terrible urge to fulfill my sweet tooth. I admit that 100% Sweet is really sweet, but I love it so much I can’t bear to have it any lower. What an unhealthy addiction. No Ice is already too cold for me, but once it sits for ten minutes the sharp coldness fades away. Rose Milk Tea has such a light, floral taste that is so hard to resist!
As for someone who knows their boba (and works at a boba shop), I sometimes hate to admit that I sometimes prefer T4 over my own boba shop. I think it is due to the fact that I drink too many of the boba shop I work at’s boba (there goes my health) and the fact that my shop does not offer Rose Milk Tea.
My drink is around $ 4, which is REALLY reasonable! (Please note I ALWAYS get a topping, whether it be lychee jelly or boba/​tapioca pearls) Their pearls are pretty hit and miss. Sometimes they’re super chewy and other times they’re hard! Oh well, it gets my craving satisfied!
The only problem I have with the place is that sometimes the workers are unattentive, leaving drinks in the sealing machines, leaving them out on the counter and not calling them out, and standing around doing nothing. Thankfully, they really upped their game and are not usually sitting around doing nothing AND if they notice the drinks are just sitting on the counter, they take initiative to call them out! I see improvement and can’t wait to see more!

Roasted oolong milk tea is to die for! I would give 5 stars but I’ve been a few times and the flavor wasn’t consistent. Also, service can be kind of slow even when its not crowded it can take 10 minutes to get one drink.

Not bad. Went here because there were too many people at sweet honey. For the milk teas, we really enjoyed it because usually other places put too much milk where the tea flavor is gone. We were able to taste the tea quite well and it was delicious. I ordered the honey peach royal tea with 50% sweetness. It was still REALLY sweet. I probably should’ve done like 30% sweetness. I ended up diluting it a bit. The boba texture was great as well. The basil chicken was also good. I really liked how they serve it in a to go box instead of a pastry/​paper bag like most boba places do. It’s really convenient. I would come back here if it wasn’t so far where I live.

«Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Unilocal’s 2-​star comment could not be more right.
I use to come here almost every week. But lately, this place has been a disappointment. My go-​to drink is always Roasted Oolong Milk Tea or the Earl Grey Milk Tea with boba 50% ice, 50% sweetness. Lately, whenever I ask for that, the drink is extremely diluted. I lightened the sweetness because I like to enhance the tea flavor, but it’s just plain bland. and the 100% sweetness just taste like sugar to me. I rather go elsewhere. (though I do love the half-​priced menu at happy hour!)
And what’s up with the music? It’s SO LOUD. I can barely hear my friends when we hang out. Hell, I can barely hear myself think! My friends and I were basically screaming at each other in there. I asked them to turn it down several times, but it didn’t seem to make much of a difference.
Sidenote: Be prepared to wait, esp for food.

New favorite place for Milk tea! I love the fact that you customize your own drink to the sweetness and ice you want. However not a big fan of their long lines that you get depending the time you go, overall worth the drive from Hayward to this great spot. I always get regular milk tea with pearls, 80% sweetness 30% ice and it’s just perfect for me. My fiancé usual is gets matcha with fresh milk with the standard sweetness and 30% ice.

Now that this joint has been opened for over 2 years, a lot has improve.
–they started hiring more people who can fluently speak English therefore understanding the customer’s order easier & having to repeat ourselves less.
&
–the wait time has improved. Even though it still gets extremely busy during the happy hour (9−11PM everyday) I noticed I use to wait over 30-​an hour but now I wait 15 minutes or less.
There are a few things they should consider to change:
–how loud they play their music. It’s like I’m walking into a club & it’s difficult to say my order over the blasting music. Which calls for many mistakes the employees make due to not hearing is clearly. I feel like I have to scream on the top of my lungs every time I’m in there.
–when its the employees fault that they mess up your order, you will still get charged for them remaking your drink. I don’t see why I should have to pay for something they messed up on. I guess that’s what makes their business successful is being stingy to their customers. & when you go up to them informing them that they messed up your drink, they will continuously talk shit about you in their language in front of you.
–their 5star rewards program is always broken leading to buying so many drinks & never getting a single point. They should resort back to stamp cards since they have so many electronic issues.
The only thing that keeps me coming back is that this is one of my favorite boba spots & this is the only t4 that does happy hour everyday. All the other locations does not have that deal.

Ordered a regular hot earl grey milk tea (no toppings) because it was unusually cold out. The drink was pretty basic & tasted like every other joint’s version of earl grey milk tea. I came in expecting this so I wasn’t disappointed!
My drink was made really quickly but it seemed a little longer because I couldn’t hear the server call out my number over the extremely loud music. So loud, in fact, that I stopped trying to listen to what my friends were saying and just accepted the fact that T4 was making an attempt to brainwash me with music.
Criticisms in a nutshell:
1) Their music was way too loud
2) Call the numbers louder or turn down your music???
3) When the workers went outside for a quick smoke break, they stood right in front so when they walked back in they brought in that disgusting scent/​smoke in with them which is extremely unappealing to me/​customers/​people trying to enjoy their food and drinks
4) Why didn’t they care about how dirty the floors are? Can you sweep up a bit?
4a) I did not go during rush hour nor were there a lot of customers. There were about 4 – 5 workers behind the counter so I was pretty confused why they couldn’t pick up a broom to keep the establishment in check.

Ordered Jadeite Royal Tea with Coconut Jelly. Total was $ 3 plus $.30 for tax, which is weird because they rounded tax up to 10%. In addition to this, my friend’s $ 2.75 drink was also charged $.30 for tax. I’m not a math major, but this simple algebra seems off to me. My drink was made pretty quickly, but I barely heard the girl call my number from across the counter because of the loud music (address below). Overall, my tea was refreshing, but a bit bland (probably should have gotten 50% sweetness instead of 30%).
My other friend’s phone died and we were disappointed by the lack of wall outlets (there are only two and they’re within feet from each other). The music played was Taiwanese pop, I believe, which varied in loudness and became a distraction as I tried to talk over it.
Thumbs up for the design of the menus; they’re pretty cute and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Really like the color scheme inside the store, but I noticed that the left wall is not covered by a wallpaper, but actually is a giant canvas cut and fitted to the wall (if you look at where the wall connects to the ceiling, you will see what I’m trying to describe). + tackiness points

I really like this place it’s becoming my new Tea spot to go to. They have so many choices and variety and I love the jelly I’m trying to wean off of tapioca. They can make it as sweet or as complicated I want it to be, I am truly in control over my tea.
Sometimes they have a buy one get one free special. You’ll have to enroll in their five five-​star rewards point. It’s just like a Safeway card so you don’t have to really worry about bringing your card just put in your phone number at the register once you enroll.

Okay I know I said that this place is pretty good, but after today I am NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE.
I went during happy hour when drinks are only $ 2.50, and I got my drink as usual. While I was driving back home, I was drinking it and all of a sudden I feel something weird in my mouth. THEN I TAKE A PIECE OF STEEL WOOL OUT OF MY MOUTH. I was so disgusted I just threw my whole drink out.
Never coming back.

2 star for there delicious drinks. They have lots of options. This place is so loud! I mean the music is loud I feel like I’m at a club in Asia. I can barely here the worker, you have to yell and to top it off there not that smart in remembering what you just order 2 seconds ago. This place is gotten dirty lack of employee cleaning it. To bad this place could have been better if they would put responsible workers who had common sense in costumer service. PLEASE lower down your music it’s bad enough it’s singing in Asian lyrics but at least keep it down a little.

Found another favorite drink at T4!
Ginger (hot) milk tea… Highly recommended! Otherwise, rose Royal tea is still my number one cold drink favorite as always! Love it!

This place is typical of the milk tea places that are starting to pop up all over the place– choose your tea, choose your sweetness, choose the amount of ice, choose your add ins, etc. I like how you can customize your drink and the tea is pretty good quality as well. They’ve got a decent amount of seating and you can hang out with your friends, talk, play games, etc.
However, the thing that I don’t like about this place is that it always seems to be super busy… a big line to get your drink, sometimes hard to find a place to sit, etc. Guess if a place is good, then you’ll get a line– but there are other good milk tea places out there that aren’t as chaotic as this place that I’d rather go to.

As much as I love the drinks here, I feel like the service and employees are a bit out of wack when there aren’t the older employees here.
The last time I came, music was blasting out of the store and I could barely hear myself think. Originally I wanted to sit in there to enjoy my drink but never mind that, I couldn’t leave any faster after getting my drink. With the music being so loud, it affects the service too.
I ordered a normal pearl milk tea with 30% ice and 80% sweetness. I ended up getting an earl gray milk tea, not black milk tea. My other order was also a normal large pearl milk tea with 30% and 100% sweetness. They only got the pearl milk tea part and added 100% ice.
Not only were my orders messed up, I think the employees can’t really hear themselves too since the cashier kept asking me to repeat myself… ran out of stamp cards too. :[ I would’ve asked them to fix my drink but we already left since it was too loud to sit and enjoy our drinks there.
Final Thoughts: Hopefully the service improves here (or at least the blasting rock music quiets down) because it’s a large part of the boba experience for me to be able to sit there to enjoy my drink.

Since becoming a regular at this location, things have slowed down a bit. There seems to always be lines, and not enough workers. The influx of people makes the wait quite long, especially when one person orders multiple drinks.
The music is also very loud, making it very inconvenient to hang out with a friend and have a conversation. The music is mostly mainstream and played loudly, to an uncomfortable level.
The quality of boba remains the same. I still like everything about their milk teas, but I docked one star mainly because the experience of buying the beverages sometimes dissuades me from going at times.
The location itself shouldn’t be a deterrent, but it is.
I have also noticed that the workers work very quickly, but efficiently, for the most part. I went today and my friend ordered a large drink, but got a small instead. He was given a larger drink, and my friend asked if he could have the other one that was unopened. One of the workers asked his co-​worker if he was going to drink it. Without saying anything, one of them just handed it to my friend. I found this to be sort of odd, but hey, thanks!
One tip would be to just offer the mistaken drink to the customer free of charge, and make them the new one. The reason I think this is somewhat warranted is because the wait is always long, and to wait for a drink to be remade is almost like getting in line and ordering again.
Anyway, T4 is booming around the Bay Area, with no sign of stopping. Hoping they can address the small issues to really enhance the experience!

I like how you can customize the sweetness and amount of ice in your drink. But just because you have that option doesn’t mean they will follow through with it when they make the drink. I asked for 30% ice because I didn’t want that much ice but still wanted my drink to be cold, but by the time I finished my drink, I was left with a cup full of ice! It was so clear that there was way more ice than I asked for, which is also why I finished my drink so fast — because most of my drink was ice anyways!
Their boba is really good though, it’s sweet and not too chewy. The drinks also come out very fast.

T4 is one of my Favorite Tea joints!
This locations tends to be always super busy but they move fast.
The vibe is good they are always on top of orders.
My drink of choice here is the Ophelia Rose with rainbow jelly so dang yummy.
They are very consistant with the ice and sweetness never had an issue like other tea places.
The food is ok i get the chicken but only when im in need of a snack .
Parking is always packed so you might have to park a little far away.
A must if you are craving tea and you are in San leandro!
