Description

Specialties

We specialize in hands-on gentle chiropractic spinal manipulation and joint care. Additionally, using the Functional Medicine approach to solving difficult health challenges; preventing and reversing chronic disease, detecting micronutrient deficiencies that can lead to long latency diseases is a big part of what we do. The doctor uses a thorough case history, examination, orders x-rays and other imaging studies when necessary. She schedules laboratory testing, and comes up with a comprehensive plan to improve your nervous system function, get you out of pain, and increase your energy. When all the results are in she explains what’s going on, and gives you options for healing. You’re always in the driver’s seat. It’s up to you how you would like to proceed. As the kind of doctor who «connects the dots», she will give you the «big picture» of where you are right now and where you’re headed. Then many new possibilities will be provided.

Business Owner

Dr. Karen J. Krahl, D.C., grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. She moved to Boston and studied Macrobiotics and other healing methods at the East West Foundation. It was there she got to understand the importance of chi flow, studied acupressure massage, and eventually was inspired to attend chiropractic college. The chiropractic scope of practice included all the things she was already interested in and was studying on her own. She attended Boston State College for her undergraduate credits, and then matriculated in Pasadena College of Chiropractic. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology and her Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1979. She took her boards and was licensed in July of 1979. She moved to San Luis Obispo, and opened her practice in 1980.
