Whalebird Kombucha

Not from the area but found Whalebird at whole foods. It was love at first taste! We had planned a trip and I wanted to try and get in and learn how how they get their kombucha to stay fizzy. Which is what I like in my kombucha. I had to make a appointment because the hours they are open I would not be in town.
These guys were super nice and very informative about their brewing process. It felt like we were chillin in their house. We started out with samples and we each were given a glass for our tour. During the tour they showed us how they brew and get it into the kegs.
They let us fill out bottles we brought plus we had to buy some bottles too. We leave in Orange County and we did not want to run out of Whalebird so we stocked up. Before we left they showed us places around town you can take your growler to be filled. Needless to say we will have our friends fill up a growler to bring it down to us.

I have been drinking Kombucha for years now. I have always had the popular brands like GT or other popular ones sold at Whole Foods and other health food stores. Ever since trying (then Komplete, now Whalebird) no other Kombucha has been able to compare. Jasmine Bliss is by far my favorite. I am sad they don’t distribute in the Bay Area, but every time I am in Central Coast, I make sure to pick up a growler. Last time I drove through, it was at the San Luis Obispo Whole Foods on tap! Tip: if you are a cocktail lover like myself, take some jasmine bliss, with a shot of gin, muddle in some blackberries and mint leaves and a tad bit of agave!

I love Whalebird Kombucha! The product is super tasty. Jasmine Bliss is my favorite flavor they offer. I also like the Lavender Lemonade a lot. You really can’t go wrong with whatever flavor you order though.

I love the ginger kombucha. All of their brews are amazing, but the ginger is AWESOME! So happy to have a high quality local kombucha company.

Discovered the Whalebirds, Jake, & sample all kinds of yummy
Kombucha at the SLO SAVOR Central Coast Festival. I would say that
Jake & Whalebird was by far my favorite, after trying tons of other stuff.
Not only is their product amazingly fresh, good, & priced fairly, but Jake
is a super nice guy who knows his stuff. He took his time discussing &
teaching me about the finer points of K making. I also have a standing
invite to their Brewery & hopefully a look around.
They also have a club, which is kind of like a wine club. I think you
buy the initial WB bottle for $ 12.50/mo & then pay $ 2 for each refill.
That sure beats Whole Paycheck Market by a mile.
You also support yet another amazing local start-​up business in the SLO
area.

Just joined their club after a recommendation from a friend. Glad I did. This place is awesome. Great kombucha. Cool dudes. Would highly recommend.
