Cal Copy San Marcos

I have no clue how this place makes any money. I’m sure their services are needed for big jobs (binding, laminating, etc) but on the day I went in, they probably lost money. I needed to have a copy made of a document– 2 pages.
There was one worker in the store and she was ALL business. A simple hello, made my copies, charged me 25 cents, and that was the end of our transaction. Really.
They don’t offer any mailing services here but the post office is right across the street from them. Easy.
Close to my house, close to a post office, and plenty of parking in the back. 3 stars.

I ordered a looseleaf copy of an e-​book which was 800 pages and needed binding done on the book. I left my book and 30 mins later it was done for a decent price. :)
Highly recommend them for photo-​copy, binding, lamination etc.

Needed to fax 10 pages but didn’t want to pay the $ 20.00+ price other places were charging. I called Cal Copy and was told $ 1.00 a page to fax. I went there half way expecting a bait and switch for some minimum price, up-​sale, etc. Nope. Just as quoted on the phone, a buck a page. It appears to be a one person shop since I didn’t see anyone else there working and she was multi-​tasking with laminating, working on copies at the same time she was sending my fax.
Without asking, she waited until she received the confirmation page for the fax sent. She also double checked that the confirmation showed 10 pages being sent.
I’ve seen some negative reviews regarding a surly attitude but I did not encounter that. She is a little quiet but I found her to be professional and efficient.

I decided to give this place another chance. The owner was in a much better mood and she provided me with great service… and a smile. Glad to update my review and give her some more stars.

I got school slides printed but many of the slides were not in color. I payed extra for this service but they skimped out. Also the files printed were not current. They printed an old PDF version of the slides. I found a slide that had a missing picture. It’s cheaper to waste a few hours and print it at home the correct way.

I’ve been going to Cal Copy in San Marcos for 8 years or so since it first opened. I’ve been very very happy with the service and pricing. Often I need things done quickly and correctly and Ferridah has never once let me down. Even when I call her and ask to have jobs done in an hour or less.

My firm outsources big copy jobs. We really only have so much manpower and the single copy machine in the office would explode with all the copies we needed. I was turned on to this place by a client and decided to give it a go.
300 pages, double sided, comb-​bound books with tab dividers… times FIFTEEN COPIES. I gave a call to the business and Farideh, the owner answered. She understood everything as I explained it, I emailed over the pdf copies in the order needed and gave her about 24 hours notice.
I made a phone call, sent a file clerk to pick them off and they were perfect and professional! I am always nervous to give instructions over the phone, but our lines of communication met in perfect harmony.
I am only docking one star because when I called at 8:00 a.m., Farideh told me that they were ready. If they were ready sooner, I would’ve liked to know and a phone call would’ve been great relaying that info. But the quality and price were unbeatable. I will definitely be back.
