I will never purchase another vehicle in my life without talking to these guys first. Truly professional, friendly, honest, and will do there best to make you happy… Every person at this business including the owner makes you feel like you are a friend and what is better than a no pressure salesman… I just purchase my dream car from Carlos and he was great!!! It must be a prerequisite to work there… Must be able to work miracles. And they do! Thanks Trax Auto!

Carlos is the man! Stayed late to show me a car I’ve been drooling over. Really flexible and worked with me when i wanted to negotiate pricing. Also promised him I’d name my first born after him but all bets are off if it’s a girl.

I sent two emails in a 24 hour period to these guys last week to question a used BMW. Was encouraged to come in and look. Went down in the afternoon, the car had a flat and the engine would not turn over. Not cool. Waste of my time.

Our search for a minivan ended at Trax Auto Wholesale. After several weeks of searching around, we found an 05 Odyssey this used car dealer. It was, by far, in the best condition out of all the used minivans we saw that met our search criteria. We were met by Carlos from Trax, who turned out to be very knowledgeable about the particular van we were interested in, not very pushy at all, but yet available in the event we had some questions. We explained to Carlos that our requirement prior to buying any vehicle was that it would need to be inspected by an independent 3^rd party mechanic, in which he was was not hesitant at all in supporting our request. After a little bit of back and forth, we arrived at a price in which we both thought was fair. The mechanic confirmed that it was in awesome condition, and after we went back to the dealer, the paperwork was completed after 20 – 30 minutes. All-​in-​all, a good experience for us, and now we’re proud owners of the minivan that met exactly what we were looking for.

Bad decision to buy a car from this place. Purchased a 07 Audit A4 with about 83 k miles during the end of Dec 2015. After a month of driving the oil level light came on and I had to refill with about 2 quarts of oil. About another week the engine idle started to get rough. OK, thought nothing of it but then about a couple days later, the check engine light came on and the idle was real rough where the car was about the loose power. I put my scanner on it and the code came back with P0303 which was some problem related to cylinder #3. Called my mechanic and we both concluded that it could be a bad coil or spark plug for cylinder #3. Barely drove it in the next morning to his shop and after my mechanic diagnosed the problem, it turned out to be the piston head for cylinder 3 was damaged and also damaged the engine shaft for cylinder #3 where my only option to fix the car was to replace the engine. What luck to purchase a used car and have to spend $ 3500 for part and labor to change out an engine?
I called Trax Auto to let them know they sold me a lemon car ad their response was that car had no warranty and was sold as is. I understood that but how can they sell a car and a month later the engine needed to be replaced? Wish I could have taken back my decision to buy this car. Negotiated with them for 2 weeks where I called them almost every day to ask for some type of reimbursement and after about another week, they gave me a $ 500 reimbursement. This is nothing compared to the loss I incurred with spending almost $ 4k with parts and labor and rental car. Also, my mechanic found that both rotors were worn for the front brakes. This has to be the worst case for anyone buying a used car.

These people lie to you about everything that the deal can entail. The truck they sold us was a horrible buy and after 8 months, it now has a timing chain issue! Not only that, they insisted that we buy the truck even though we were looking at other options they had on their lot. When ever we tried to inquire about another newer and better vehicle, they replied «Oh, you wouldn’t be able to finance this.» They didn’t even run our credit first to find that out. So, they wanted to get rid of the old 2004 heap of junk. Not only that, the purchase was my husband’s but he couldn’t get financed just as himself. So, my ability was called into question for financing. I was able to get financed and i told the dealer that i did not want my name on the loan or the title and the dealer told me that i would be able to get my name removed from the title and loan after 6 months into making the payments. Turns out that was a lie!!! A big lie too! The Auto Fund is the one financing us and they are a bunch of morons who tell a bunch of lies too. So, we have to not only deal with the lying dealership but the moronic liars over at the auto fund too! As it turns out, the auto fund will not remove my name from the loan or title without my husband re financing the truck for himself. Now, his credit is better than mine and he should have no problem with getting my name removed from the loan and title. The Auto Fund, the manager i am guessing she is, act’s like she doesn’t even want to try to get my husband to re finance the damn thing. She has lied to both of us twice about sending out the loan application for him to fill out. We are getting nowhere with those people over at the auto fund. I just really wish we had never stopped to take a look because like idiots ourselves, we wound up buying a raggedy car! The only thing good i can say about this dealership is that they are willing to deal with people. Other than that, watch out for their many lies. Things are not as they seem.

After 3 weeks of visiting big dealerships and getting emotionally beat up with their sales tactics and pushiness I came to Trax Auto Wholesale where I met Sean. He took the time to explain the process, he gave me the keys to the car I liked to go drive it by myself and he even help get the insurance i need it. He was helpful and in no way pushy, he answer all my questions with facts. I hate to be the woman stereotype, i do not know much about cars and my biggest fear was to be taken advantage, but I feel very comfortable with Sean from the beginning unlike at this other big dealerships, I felt he was trust worthy he even took me to drop off my rental car the next day. Long story short I am the happy owner of a 2013 Nissan Rogue with low mileage and monthly payments with in my budget. No doubt I will be buying my next car from this guys and I been already telling my friends to go see Sean at Trax Auto Wholesale

I was in search for a used car to replace the lease that I’m returning at the end of this month. My friend and I had gone through 3 dealerships from the east bay to the Peninsula in the morning and trax was next in line. The sales rep I met at the gates was Carlos. I have to say I purchased 2 other used cars before from dealerships and they were pushy and lying about anything to get me to sign, my favorite «you can get that fixed for 20 dollars at any shop or buy parts on ebay for nothing». Carlos was totally the opposite, he was relaxed and answered any questions I had truthfully. I will definitely buy from him again and will be recommending him to my friends and family.

Came back a second time to these guys because they’re the best!!! We were helped by Sean (Shawn? Not sure how to spell it) he’s so nice, understanding and helpful!!! He helped me get bumper to bumper insurance and a great, reliable and fuel efficient car! Highly recommend to anyone in fact I’ve already sent a few coworkers in that direction who are looking for car. Be smart if you’re looking for a car and go here and ask for Sean!

I recently bought a car from Trax & especiaaly because of Carlos, their Sales Representative
I have been in professional sales myself, $ 1.2 mil/​yr, for about 30 years from Pharmaceuticals, industrial chemicals, to commercial pest control sales of some of the largest Bay Area organizations.
Carlos was professional, very patient with his customers, explains clearly, honest, goes to bat for you with the financials, & makes the deal go thru.
Trax had a well kept inventory of vehicles that were in very good shape mechanically & cosmetically compared to several other small dealers that I shopped around the Bay.
Trax was easy to get to just off the 101, Parking was easy parking right across the street at the shopping center
Driving by it may look like just another small dealer but dont be fooled

If I could give negative stars to anyone it would be this piece of «ish» establishment. I have had my vehicle for 1 year and within the first week, I noticed:
1. I was drenched going through the car wash as my sunroof leaks.
2. My speakers were blown.
3. My air conditioning vents broke the first time I tried to change the location of air flow.
After 6months:
1. My power seating will only let my seat move forward, so when I adjusted the seat for my, much shorter mother, I can no longer move it back. I am tall. This is a problem.
2. My rear passenger window will no longer roll up and I have to manually push it up as it falls on occasion. This is a safety issue as well as an issue when it rains. The duct tape no longer works.
As you can all see, this dealership duped me into thinking that the car was in one condition, but clearly had major defects. I feel like it’s one thing if there are small blemishes that the naked eye can see; however, it’s a completely different situation to have major mechanical defects that have been misrepresented by the dealership.
Watch out! And happy car hunting :)

Made the worst deal I’ve ever made in my life here. Dealers lied, without telling me, about my income to get me the smaller down payment, they wooed me by letting me take a Saab convertible to drive as they held my car for days «getting it ready» effectively making it impossible for me to do my own recon, go get the car checked on my own, and made me totally unable to return the car under California’s 3-​day return policy.
I’m new to buying cars, and was a little desperate, and I think they noticed that. The 3-​month warranty they gave me, I feel, as a secret token of apology, did me no good as the car’s damage was categorizable as «wear and tear» even though it broke down on my way up to Washington two days after driving it out of the lot. Be smart with these guys, and don’t let them let «their guys» take a look at the car!
Now I’m stuck making payments for four years on a 2002 Volvo V70 that scarcely goes over 40 mph that nobody wants to work on, including myself! I’ve taken the car to three different shops over the past few months and nobody says anything more than «oh the ignition coils need to be replaced,» «fix your timing belt,» «new camshaft sensor,» which all could be done but does not address whatever underlying issue is causing my misfires and what seems like transmission problems. I feel so foolish, and can own up to my own mistakes, but make no mistake: these guys are a business, they have their tricks, and though they are very friendly — beware!

Carlos allowed me to test drive the car several times and even borrow it for a day to take it to a mechanic to have the vehicle looked at. Bought a BMW 650i convertible here 2 years ago. It had a clean carfax when I bought it. I tried to trade it in and was told that the car was in an accident the same month I bought it. Buyer beware!

I recently sold my car on consignment with the help of Sean at Trax Auto. I was a walk-​in customer and admittedly skeptical, but I liked their direct, candid approach and decided to trust them with selling my car. A few months later, I’m glad I chose Trax. Sean stood by his word, sold my car, and sent me a check for exactly the amount I was hoping to achieve from my vehicle… which was much more than the low-​ball offer from the dealership down the road. I would definitely sell or buy another car here again.

cons: classic shady used car dealer ethics, there is an excuse for almost everything. wont negotiate on the price point, especially on a car with structural damage (which they tried to hide)
pros: friendly, i was allowed to drive the car without anyone else present and i did not feel pressured, car seemed to be in good condition
full review:
i went to buy a 2006 porsche cayman s. the car drove great and looked great, probably because it was just repainted.
when i asked if the car had been painted, they said just the hood because some garbage fell on it.
then when i asked for carfax, they told me you know these things are not very accurate. the car fax stated structural damage. when i asked why this the case they said the bumper, hood and many other parts had been replaced with a repair bill which showed around 15,000 dollars worth of repairs. seems a little high if there was no structural damage. they continued to tell me that there was no structural damage. which might be the case but i doubt it. the car was repaired properly though.
next the car fax showed 4 previous owners, but apparently that was wrong too and they said it only had 3.
man carfax seems to be really messing up these days.
i’m sure the car would be fine but at the price they were asking and the shady car guy routine was a little too much for me for me. also they were not willing to negotiate at all on the price, claiming that this car was an easy sell. which it might be if the person buying is gullible enough.
i will say that i did not feel pressured into buying a car, they were friendly overall and were willing to help me with the loan process and insurance.
this i a very honest review, im sure they have good cars but please buy carefully and get an inspection done.

I’d been driving an ’89 Camry (yes, you read that correctly — a 1989) for the past 4 years… great commuter car, reliable and well, old! So smog time comes around and this year it doesn’t pass… I decided it was time to invest in a new car rather than continue to put money into it. And the search began. Car shopping can be fun, but it’s also work.
Research pointed me to a Honda CR-​V and local
site showed a good deal at TRAX AUTO, I called and spoke with Carlos, who was really helpful. Since I was still unsure about what I was looking for he suggested a 2009 Camry they had with lower mileage. He advised me to check out the inventory on their website and I liked the car for sure. I made an appointment come by and test drive.
My experience was a very positive one, this is a no non-​sense place, with quality customer service and a nice full selection of cars to choose from. Carlos helped pick the perfect car for me and I ended up purchasing the car within a week. I’m so glad I called.

I found an ad they placed on Craigslist for a loaded Ford Escape hybrid. I’ve been car shopping without any luck. I was excited when I saw Trax’s ad because their Escape was exactly what I was looking for. I called and set up a time to test drive it because time is of essence when you are buying a used car. Cars are there one day and sometimes gone the next. You have to persistently push yourself in line and go after what you want in order to GET what you want.
Trax has 2 lots and a huge inventory. They seriously have a car to fit everyone’s needs and desires. My Mom and I went to look at the Escape. The minute we got there it was all ready for us to test drive. The first thing I noticed about the men running Trax is that they are very trusting. I consider this to be honorable as now and days you never know who is going to try to take advantage of who.
It was not long before I knew this car was perfect for me. We got the pleasure of working with Shawn and the manager Manny. Between the two of them we had every question answered, full history of the car’s status and mechanical work, Kelly blue book price range, etc. Their customer service is impeccable and that’s not the best part…
Manny totally hooked us up with an affordable price that best fit our budget, compromised a trade in for the Acura I was driving and even threw in some extra bonus blessings that would of cost US money to modify but instead he took care of these things for us to help support our budget needs

Ok. So. I’m a woman. & we ALL know how most dealer/​dealerships tend to give us the run around, charge us more, try to get us to buy something we don’t want to help their commission, etc. You get the drift!
I love Unilocal & as a recent transplant to the Bay I must say that it has saved my life on so many different occasions, but I digress.
Wanted to purchase a new car. Something cute and sporty & saw the ad online from Trax about a particular vehicle I wanted. My instincts automatically had me Unilocal the reviews on this dealership because I wasn’t about to drive 45 minutes from Oakland to San Mateo for a 1-​star dealership with horrible reviews!
Got to Trax and didn’t see the car I wanted. Carlos comes out and says that he sold the car about 2 hours prior, but I could feel free to look around. I thought, «Great! At least he won’t follow me around and pressure me as I’m looking.» He came back out after a while to check on me and show me a different vehicle with similar specs & price & handed me the keys to test drive.
Got back. Not sure. Still wasn’t pressured to commit. He began to show me different stock they had online but not on the lot that would possibly interest me. I felt comfortable the entire time and as I was checking, the Manager or Owner, Manny came in.
Let me say one thing, the moment Manny spoke to me & began explaining the procedures and prices and credit and almost anything I did NOT know about purchasing a vehicle, he explained to me so nicely and in a way that I could make a better decision on if I even wanted to buy a vehicle anymore or not!

The Purchase
My credit was great! Up until about last month. Manny looked at the credit, asked me what happened and proceeded to tell me that he believed that I was a good & responsible b/​c of my credit/​payment history & he wanted to take a chance on me. He ran some numbers, looked up a few «credit challenged» companies as well as traditional ones and gave me a few options on whom I might be able to be financed with. He broke down all fees, possible down payment and monthly payment. He took his time and made sure I understood everything. I couldn’t believe that I was so lucky and Blessed to end up here with these guys. Manny assured me that he would do his absolute best to get me the best deal/​rate and just approved, period.
We decided to fill out all necessary paperwork that night & they would give me a call the next day and let me know.
January 18^th 2014
I get a call around Noon as promised, informing me to come and pick up my new car!
With my B’EarthDay only one month away, this was one of the happiest days of my life!
Manny even called his Insurance guy (on his day off, no doubt! He means business, lol) and got me a quote for cheaper and better full coverage insurance on my new sports car!!! Everything was taken care of on the spot! All I had to do was review the documents and go over anything that may have been misunderstood. Needless to say, I LOVE MY NEW CAR!
You guys and your team, Carlos & Shawn was the one who called me back initially. Thank you SO much! I have referred at least 3 people to them already. Great service & humble, honest people. You just can’t beat it. Thanks guys.
