Atlas Window & Carpet Cleaning

I had called several carpet cleaners who had good recommendations here on Unilocal — of the 3 I called, only ATLAS actually answered the phone when I called. (Of the other two, one NEVER returned my call and the other returned it 10 days later!) I had some questions about our natural wool carpet that the lady who answered the phone could not answer, so she put me on speaker so I could talk directly to the owner, Elliot Atlas. We talked about my questions and he gave thoughtful and knowledgeable answers — then provided me with an estimate based on the information I have him. I went ahead and scheduled the appointment for the following week. Over that week, they called me twice to remind me that Jose would be at my home between 9:30 — 10: AM on that day.
At 9:30 that morning, Jose called to say that he es leaving San Rafael, would be stopping for gas and expected to be at my home by 10: AM. At 9:50AM, he rolled into the carport. As we surveyed the space and carpeting together, he was quite warm and engaging — but, more importantly, he did and excellent job of cleaning two large wall-​to-​wall areas — one acrylic and the other wool. Both look great!
What else could be said to praise a carpet cleaning company? They were available to talk about my situation on the initial call, gave an estimate (accurate) over the phone and sent a technician who really knew his business. No muss — no fuss.
I would have no hesitation about using Atlas services again.

The did a fantastic job on our dingy Berber carpets. Jose the technician was on time, personable and very knowledgable about the origin of our stains and wear on our carpets. The carpets look like new. I had bad experiences with both Coit and Stanley Steamer. We will be using Atlas for all of our future carpet cleaning.

After another well-​known commercial carpet cleaning company failed to make a dent in several difficult ink stains in my Berber wool carpet, I called Atlas in desperation. On the phone, Elliot guided me on some steps to take on my own to try to remove the stains and also to see if his company could get them to budge– if not fully eradicate them, then at least ameliorate them. He was very careful not to set my expectations for a «miracle» but also very encouraging about the possibility that his company would put in that extra effort to be sure that I tried everything. Elliot was out of town and sent his technician, Jose. I was really blown away by how much time and energy Jose put into those stains. He was also extremely friendly, professional and informative about all things carpet. And, although the stains were unable to be completely removed, they are now far less substantial. The rest of the carpet areas that Jose cleaned now look amazing — WAY better than the prior company’s outcome. I felt the charges were more than reasonable for the work and fabulous results I received. These guys are top notch!

Atlas Window & Carpet cleaning did a great job cleaning our windows. They were on time, friendly, and did a really thorough job. Our windows are very difficult to clean, but they handled the tall windows with ease and our windows look GREAT!

I’ve had this company clean my carpets twice and both times they’ve been super thorough, thoughtful, and friendly. They really want you to have clean carpets, but don’t push (or even encourage) you to do advanced treatments, etc., if they’re not necessary. I’d definitely hire them again.

Elliot was great. On time. Thorough work. Really friendly. Carpets are VERY clean and we had both bad stains and dog urine odor in the rooms.

Did someone steal my windows?! OK corny but — I’ve lived in this house 21 years. The windows are clear it’s hard to see them. No smudges, lint etc. They fellows were efficient and handled the very hard cathedral windows really easily and safely. Not inexpensive but worth the price.

Atlas Window & Carpet cleaning gets extra points from us on many levels.
We first had Elliot out to clean our carpets about a year ago. When he came in to evaluate the carpet, he asked about pet stains, water damage, etc. When I told him, that we just wanted the carpets cleaned, he told me that it was my choice but that my carpet looked to be very clean already. (It was only two years old at the time.) So points for honesty.
We agreed that an annual cleaning would help extend the life of the carpet — especially since we had a carpeted stairway. After the carpet cleaning, we noticed the carpet was «springier.»
Elliot was back again this year and again, said the cleaning was up to us. Again, the carpet looks and feels like new.
I can’t speak to his ability to remove stains or deal with exceptionally dirty carpets, but I can say that his work is meticulous and that his is very respectful of hardwood floors and furniture.

I used think to get carpets cleaned-​go with the cheapest one that runs the specials. WRONG. I learned the hard way to go with Atlas instead. Atlas actually CLEANS the carpet. They do not just come in and dump water on your carpet and leave you with those ugly dirt stains all around the edges of the carpet and not to mention the stinky mold smell that pops up within a day of all that water the lesser carpet cleaners use.
They first spot clean with these various carpet stain removers-​then they show you how to use the removers and leave a set of them with you so you can keep ontop of stains and dirt when they’re gone. They even made my rental carpet look great after a tenant trashed it with excess pets and poor housekeeping habits. it was a white carpet too ! They have a super powerful extractor that works great. Our home carpeting looks like new and it’s 8 years old.

The BEST! Can’t say enough good things about Elliot, the owner. Gave me the best price, called to tell me he was gonna be 5 minutes late (who does that nowadays?), got down on his hands and knees to smell the carpets to try and figure out what the stains were. told me what he could and couldn’t fix up front. the kind of service and pride in one’s work you just dont see anymore…

Eliot Atlas is the real deal. A local business that tries really hard to please his customers. Not a franchise, not a big company with tons of unsupervised staff, Elliot often does the work himself and is very careful and eager to please. Highly recommend.

Just had my home windows cleaned. Wow– Gerbert & Omar did a fantastic job. I have a difficult to reach high rise window, which hadn’t been cleaned in awhile due to its’ location. They cleaned it with ease, and it looks amazing! I would definitely recommend this company!

Elliot is by far the best carpet cleaner barnone. I have tried 4 reputable companies but none of them live up to Atlas Carpet Cleaning. I like to have my carpets cleaned twice a year and the fact that Eliott (the owner) does the work himself pleases me greatly. Unlike the other customer, I appreciate the fact that he is honest and discusses the charges before he begins. I was not charged for set up but that might be because I have a very accessible driveway within proximity to my front door. I was charged for a spot that was stubborn but this is common from other carpet cleaners when they need to use a special coctail to remove a stubborn stain. I like to know what I am paying for and I like it explained. I felt his pricing was very fair and less than the companies I have tried. I also appreciate that Eliott is a nice man and someone I enjoy having around my house. I would say that his outgoing personality is a plus and he really takes pride in a job well done!

I hired Atlas for both window washing and carpet cleaning.
Window Washing:
+ The window washers were excellent. They did my entire house inside and out in about 1 ½ hours. They were very professional and focused. At first I was concerned because they didn’t use ladders to get to my super high top-​story windows. For one large window, they removed an entire panel and leaned out to clean the outside, and for the other windows they used a long pole. Despite my concern, the end result was fantastic. No streaks or dirt left behind. I’ve had other window washers leave behind towel fuzz and streaks that are very visible when the sun shines in. Not the case with Atlas. They did a great job and I would hire them again for my windows!
Carpet Cleaning:
+ Elliot (the owner) and assistant did the cleaning. They did a good job; the cleaning was thorough and complete. I’m very happy with the result.
— However, the owner (Elliot) who did the work was overbearing. It was like I was being sold to by a used car salesman, spinning stories about all the additional charges and why they were important, how he had the best equipment, how other cleaners were inferior, etc. I got the impression he was making things up to explain the extra charges, given that my carpets were pretty clean to begin with. It is good to be upfront about extra charges to set expectations, but I would have much preferred a quick conversation rather than a bunch of sales pitches.
— I felt the extra charges were unfair — $ 35 additional for setup (because they had to run a hose from my carport to my front door, a process that took all of 5 minutes) and additional charges for a few stains that he didn’t spend much time on.
Ultimately, he did a nice job on the carpets and he seems to really care about his work, but I prefer someone who can just come in and get the job done without the hassle.

Nice surprise! Eliot, the owner and an asst showed up and did a great job using an odorless system that had our off white berber carpets looking spiffy and refreshed. Friendly, efficient and a great job! Highly recommend:).
