As an electrical contractor in Marin county for the past 13 years I know GC’s are doing a great job and when they aren’t. Kevin and Lindsay in the office are true professionals and Carlos the project manager is so great with his client and subcontractor management. I’d highly recommend a Crescent Builders to anybody looking to build or remodel nearby. Absolutely five stars!

we were approached by kevin with cresent builders because they needed more design resources for the potential clients that were calling. we had a great meeting to discuss philosophies and possibilities. that meeting quickly let to a couple small projects and i expect many more in the future. i have been very impressed with kevin’s honest approach and systematic results and feedback. it is refreshing to work with someone who is a good communicator, works in a collaborative fashion and lets you know directly what they can and can’t do. i can recommend crescent builders without reservation on any project they agree to take on.

I had wonderful experiences working with Kevin Moon and his team at Crescent Builders several times as a flooring contractor. It is obvious from the outset that Crescent operates more smoothly than most firms, more like your time is critical to them. It is not so much the doing what they say they are going to do, it is asking questions beforehand so the project managers can be proactive instead of tilting at windmills. Oh sure, there is other talent in Marin, and it is easy enough with a magnetic general contractor sign and a pickup truck to put your shingle out there, but Crescent Builders manages the details and customer quirks with ease. If you want a clean project and piece of mind, call Crescent Builders!

It has been incredibly difficult to find an honest, open, reliable contracting firm that is willing to come into the city of San Francisco and do work. In other words, a firm with integrity.
While attempting to work with contractors to remodel my condo in SoMA, I met with a number of firms and people, and even attempted to work with a few, whom I found sadly lacking in one or more of the criteria I listed above. More than anything else I wanted to find a contractor who could provide a reasonable estimate, show up on time and as scheduled, provide reasonable work orders when changes must be made, and not disappear before the job is done.
Crescent Builders has been all of that and more. Everyone I have worked with at Crescent, from Kevin who founded the company, to every person I have had contact with in the office and on-​site has been professional, punctual, extremely reasonable, and in general just an absolute pleasure to work with. I find myself wanting to throw more work their way even without competing bids simply because the experience has been so positive for me.
I can’t say enough good things about Crescent. I would without any hesitation recommend you contact them for a consultation about your project and a bid. Even if they can’t handle the job or think it would be better for you to work with another company, they will be open about it and why. It’s sad that this seems to be so hard to find in the city, but I’m happy I did finally find a company I can say this about.

I hired Crescent on two projects with very tight timelines due to personal circumstances. Kevin and his crew did an excellent job. We did work in our bathroom and kitchen for a remodel. The work involved new countertops, making a few cabinets, light electric, appliance/​sink install and plumbing — all done professionally by his crew. Also some cabinet surgery had to be done to work in appliances and his foreman did a solid job. His crew was very clean, always protected my floors and walls, respectful, and offered to work around our baby’s nap schedule. I personally chose all the new items myself for install, but Kevin did offer up a few design suggestions that I ended up going with.
I found his bids competitive and he turned around estimates relatively quickly to help me plan. I do find it helpful to get a few bids for remodels, but in the end, it isn’t always just about price. Some contractors are better at certain tasks then others, you be the judge when meeting with them. You can tell a lot from a contractor on small things like attention to detail, communication skills, cleanliness, adherence to a timeline, organization of work, or even being told a handyman would be more cost effective for certain tasks — Kevin stood out on a lot of regards. Things happen on all remodels, for example our timeline was pushed out a bit more than anticipated due to a sub-​contractor dragging, but what matters is how the contractor deals with it. In balance I was very happy with both jobs and would hire Kevin again.

I had a small but out-​of-​the-​ordinary project. Unlike most contractors or handymen, Kevin is creative, responsive, and email-​savvy. I emailed him some digital photos of my space, he came up with a solid cost-​effective solution, and brought all the right materials and tools so he could finish the job in a single visit. And he stands behind his work. Thanks!

We hired Kevin to remodel our bathroom and replace some wooden floors after our house flooded this summer. After interviewing a few contractors we quickly settled on Kevin and I am so happy we did.
Kevin and his crew were organized, efficient, helpful with design ideas and they are just so friendly. Usually when your house is all torn up it is depressing but they made the whole process go so smoothly. They did what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it and kept our house as tidy as they could as they did the work.
Our new bathroom looks amazing. We look forward to working with them again on other projects.

I worked with Kevin and Lindsay to remodel my yoga studio. Kevin helped me make important decisions AND stayed within my budget. He followed through on everything we discussed and kept me in the loop on progress and any glitches that arose during the remodel.

We recently used Crescent Builders to do a series of small renovation projects at our home in Kentfield. Kevin and his team did an excellent job, were on time, on budget, very courteous and their attention to detail was up to our high standards. We will use them again for upcoming project needs!

Why isn’t there a 10-​star option? If there was, Kevin and his team would deserve it. Not only was he friendly, collegial, and an overall nice guy to have around (a key thing during an extensive remodel!), but he was accurate, thorough, and precise. We hired him to create/​remodel a master closet, do extensive lighting changes, install exotic fixtures, you name it. Through the while process he was a clear communicator, understood our wants and needs, and gave us timelines and estimates that met our budget needs. Could not recommend more highly!

I had a job that Kevin bid on that was for an insurance claim after our sink sprung a leak in the upstairs bathroom and our house flooded. I thought that I was very clear that we needed to be conservative as this would form the basis for the amount the insurance company provided to do the work. Kevin assessed the damage and provided an estimate that seemed very low to me, but then I’m not a GC. The insurance provider cut a check for the amount of the estimate, but once Kevin’s hardwood floor specialist came out to provide his assessment, the cost for the floor alone was more than the entire estimate for all the damage including walls and ceilings.
I would highly discourage anyone from putting too much stock in Kevin’s initial estimates. I certainly learned my lesson the hard (and expensive) way :(

Kevin Moon and his staff did a marvelous job on my kitchen remodel while my tenant lived there. The work was done well and in a timely manner so as not to inconvenience the tenant any more than necessary. Kevin even helped to set up a «mock» kitchen for the duration. The kitchen remodel which included demo of cabinets, countertops, and flooring followed by instillation of all the above and back splash was completed in one month’s time. Thank you Kevin for a job well done in a timely manner.

As an interior designer, I’ve worked with quite a few general contractors. Kevin is hands-​down one of the best. My clients love him and so do I! He is conscientious about the design, schedule and budget. If he’s working on my project, I have nothing to worry about. Thank you, Kevin!

I hired Kevin to do medium size remodeling in my house, which included modifying walls, closing new space, and restructure several rooms.
Kevin and his team were able to complete all the work within the time frame I wanted and within my budget. While other contractors pointed out the complexity in the changes I wanted to make, Kevin made everything seem so easy!
The modifications to the house were done while I was at work, and Kevin always made sure I have a clean (and exciting) place to come back to. Kevin work was very detailed, and all changes were done better than I imagined possible.
I would definitely use Kevin again for any further updates in my place, and I am happy to send pictures and personally recommend him to anyone reading my review.

Kevin is so good at fixing things both big and small. Kevin has helped me with a few projects around my apartment and even though my projects have been little (like installing a new kitchen faucet, or helping with some plumbing issues) Kevin has approached my requests with professionalism, sometimes humor, and always a great attitude. Kevin has great ideas, is flexible to demanding clients such as myself and has been a pleasure to have in my home for my various projects.

Kevin did an excellent job refinishing our Dining Room and it turned out much better than I had ever expected really. Best of all, it was more economical than I thought it would be.
