I’ve had grits all over the USA& these were the worst. I ordered shrimp & grits — the dish was on the spicy side which sounded good. The temperature of the dish was tepid & the spiciness just so-so. The grits were drowning in sauce.

Great food and cool atmosphere! Momo(our waitress) is the BOMB! She welcomed us with smile. If you want a little southern comfort go to Clementine’s. The also have a live band on the weekends.

The original Eggs Benedict were delicious. The hollandaise was was on point, smooth, tasteful and not at all runny or Greasy. Good customer service, not overly involved and not to distant. It felt like I was having dinner at home with the family. Food came right on time, coffee top offs were almost that of a ninja and our waiter was friendly. Two of our meals(breakfast burritos had zero trace of jalapenos, so no spicy kick) were not as the description but overall tasteful and I would go back and try something new.

We had the fried chicken, sampler platter, and a side of hush puppies. It was all just a mishmash of oily, badly breaded stuff with almost no seasoning. Might be the first time in my life that I wished I had gone to Taco Bell. If you have ever had good Southern or Cajun food, just cherish the memories and skip this place.

I can be a bit slutty, when it comes to Cajun food. In the sense, that I can never say«no». Ex-coffee shop(Baker’s Square) turned Cajun restaurant, you know I’m gonna be on board with that scenario. It even got me to venture into San Ramon. The menu reads like a promising Cajun/Creole script. But I’ve rarely encountered a restaurant out here in the Bay Area, where they can nail most of the dishes. I’d rather have a place offer less, and nail the execution. Rather than offer a boat load of mediocrity. The food is not bad here, they can actually cook. But sometimes it is the little things that can add up and lose a favorable opinion. Corn bread arrives upon seating. Nice gesture. Not bad but more like a corn cake versus dense and moist corn bread. It seems they were trying to get away from the gritty texture of good ol’ fashioned corn bread. Batter Fried Crawfish($ 11) was just okay. The batter kind of overpowered the crawfish tail meat. You almost couldn’t discern it from crawfish or tiny shrimp. I love crawfish meat and I kind of want to taste it. Plus the batter got on the dark side from the fryer. Cup of Gumbo($ 4.45) Not bad, properly thick and flavorful. But the flavor came mostly from the smoked sausage and not the darkened roux. Chicken meat completely shredded and added to the thickness. Addition of a scoop of rice made it even more thick and filling. Decent rendition that I’d hit up again. BBQ Shrimp($ 16) Not bad tasting as it was nice sized peeled shrimp in a pool of Cajun spiced, garlic oil. Good with French bread to sop. But BBQ shrimp in NOLA, at least the versions I’ve seen/had from Paul Pruddhome and Emeril were way different. Those versions were Worcestershire, beer and spices, reduced to a thickish reduction then emulsified with soft butter. So the finished product is an intense sauce with no oil slick. Again I didn’t think that Clementine’s version was horrible tasting, but I felt it was just misnamed. Should of been called«Spicy Shrimp in Garlic Oil». Smoked Prime Rib($ 25 for 12 oz cut, there’s one larger) They actually know how to smoke over here. So much so, I may try their ribs next time. Good quality meat, nice and tender in the interior. Exterior nicely seasoned with a robust flavor of true smoke, very nice. This isn’t easily pulled off, and I only know 1 other place out here in the Bay that does a smoked PR. I would recommend this in a heartbeat. Decent service, large spacious dining area and a full bar will have me coming back. But when I didn’t see a Sazerac on their cocktail menu, I knew it was going to be slightly watered down Cajun-Creole. I wasn’t too far from being off. But for San Ramon, this is a gem!

Came here on a hunch. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was awesome, love the flavor, tenderness, it was juicy not dry like most places I’ve tried. The service was great! Thanks Tamara! I would definitely come again.

Clementines is, by far, my favorite breakfast place in San Ramon. Setting: Very homey, with a New Orlean theme. If you come during the Mardi Gras season, they go all out with streamers and decorations! There’s two sides to restaurant: a bar area and a large seating space. Food: The dishes are definitely a bang for your buck. I always order the By the Bay, which includes two eggs, your choice of potato, and a side(toast, biscuits, pancakes, or a waffle) for only $ 7.95! Some places charge that much for pancakes by itself. Let me move onto the hash browns. They are absolutely DELICIOUS. Cooked to perfection and crispy on the top, they are easily my favorite hash browns. Drinks: Order the hot chocolate! The flavor of the chocolate is indescribable and it’s very creamy(you can tell that it’s not made from a packet). The whipped cream on top makes it even better — it’s so thick and fluffy! Service: I have never had bad service here. Some of the waitresses and waiters have actually memorized my order, which is awesome. The staff are all very kind folks that know what they’re doing. Come to Clementines!

We were craving for some creole food and wanted to try this place out. Since we’ve had some of the best creole food in New Orleans, we did not have high expectations for this place. I would give the service a 4 – 5 star. Right when we sat down, the corn bread and water were served right away. The service was friendly and attentive. We received our food pretty fast. The food on the other hand was not so great. I ordered the jambalaya. It was decent. If you want to add shrimps, it’s an extra $ 4.99. From the reviews, people said that it was pretty spicy, but I thought the spice level was the right amount. My husband ordered the étouffée. It was such a disappointment! I felt like there wasn’t any flavor at all! However, the dish was VERY spicy. How can a dish be flavorless and spicy at the same time!!! … And I usually love spicy food! If you don’t like spicy food, you can always ask them to adjust it. We may go back another day, but not any time soon.

Pretty decent spot considering all of the non traditional food in San Ramon sucks. My first time being there, the service was great at the table. I got the jumbalaya which was pretty good for the price you pay. They serve cornbread as well, it was a little dry but it wasn’t the worst I had tasted. We ended up getting the crawfish tails(deep fried) and the shrimp(deep fried) and those were fantastic! I love the small little happy hour they have their as well. I also went on a weekend and they had live music which was pretty cool. They have a small bar which is awesome as well, but for me, I think the staff at the bar could use a bit more smiles and conversation, even though they were almost closing. But overall, very good service and I wouldn’t mind coming here again.

Drove the distance in hopes they still served muffaletta’s. Waded through a circus of Benny Hill characters and seated at an outdated booth. It seemed like forever and finally someone came by to get our drink order. Water to the table and the question, «do you still make the muffaletta». No she responds! I decide to order the Shrimp Po’boy. Hours if not months pass by and our order finally comes out of the kitchen. I think, «it looks like a shrimp Po’boy, hell, it actually looks good». Take a bite and the mush they call shrimp comes squirting out of the sandwich. The shrimp is mushy breaded goo and not crispy. This makes for a displeasant texture and displeasing sandwich. The cajun fries lacked flavor and in need of massive seasoning. We had big hopes for Clementines but in the end it failed in the area of service, quality of food and taste of food. They get a good business so they won’t miss me when I don’t return. If we find ourselves in that area again we will opt for Chevy’s. It is next door and I know they are pretty decent.

Had the fried oysters to start those were OK, sauce on side was good. Artichoke dip was good, needed more bread. Had the shrimp and grits which was tasty and the ribs were amazing. Drinks: Stubborn Moscow Mule with fresh mint and they modified no simple syrup for me! Thumbs up with The Southern Gent was solid 4. You must try the Hurricane if sugar and booze doesn’t matter. Monday night HH $ 2.50 Blue Moon pints.

If u don’t like flavor, come here! Came here for my birthday dinner and was seriously disappointed! The people of New Orleans would be ashamed! Red beans and rice, fried green tomatoes, and fried okra were all bland and dry, banana pudding was just that, plain banana flavored pudding, no nilla wafers on the bottom. Mac and cheese with sausage, bell peppers and onions was the only thing worth eating! I will never come here again!

The fried catfish is light, crisp, and not oily. It is well seasoned and comes with some kind of flavored mayo for dipping, I prefer a cocktail sauce or anything else acidic. The crayfish étouffée was lightly flavored, not the traditional darker roux ones that you get in Louisianan but for what it was it was good. Authentic type Cajun or Creole food? No, but it tries and does taste well. I felt like the food was playing it safe for people who have not had this cuisine before. So if you have never had Cajun/creole before this would be a nice introduction. The restaurant looks like a Applebee’s or Chili’s that was slightly redecorated. Service was meh, nothing remarkable but not bad.

Went for lunch with a friend on her recommendation. Our food was really good. I had a fried shrimp po boy with a cup of Gumbo. All of it was really good. The service was a little slow but the food made up for that.

The place sounds pretty sweet in theory, Nola vibe, southern food, full bar, live music. BUT this place is devoid of the charming character you think would come along with all of those things. It feels more like an Applebee’s, and hey I love applebees, but couldnt help feeling kind of tricked by Clemintines. My cobb salad was good, Louis Moon with the music was jiving and the service was pretty good.

We came here with high expectation but were quickly disappointed with the dirtiness of the place. The gumbo that my boyfriend ate was basically grounded and minced. We are used to eating chopped pieces of meat. It sort of reminded me of baby food. Our main courses were served before we finished our appetizers. To make things worse I lost my appetite after seeing the dirtiness of the vent that I was sitting under. The manager came out and said he would clean the vents and apologized for the rush of food that was served to us and gave the excuse that they are really busy. Chicken wings and salad were good. It’s just such a disappointment to hear excuses from servers why they don’t serve food like a professional establishment would.

Nice spot. Nothing stood out for me. Food was pretty good. Our waitress was great. She was able to help those of us who haven’t been there before decide on what to get. They bring you out cornbread to start. It was very moist. We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp. It was pretty good. Shrimp was cooked perfect, wrapped in a large strip of bacon with BBQ brushed on top. We also had the chicken and waffles(the waffle was huge) and Jambalaya. The jambalaya was my least favorite, which was unfortunate because that’s what I was looking forward to the most. They have a full bar. Looks like a nice cozy spot to watch a game or come listen to the one man band they had that night. I would come back to try other items on the menu.

I was staying nearby and decided to get take out from Clementine’s for dinner. I called in my order and it was ready in 20 mins as expected. Service was friendly and I was actually really impressed with how my take out order was packaged. I ordered the fried oyster po’ boy and a baked potato with everything to go with it. Rather than having the baked potato already dressed, the sour cream, chives, butter, bacon, and cheese were all individually packaged so that I could prepare it when I got back to my hotel. I really appreciated that! I didn’t even expect bacon to come with it… score! I also was pleasantly surprised when I also got cornbread with butter to go. The food was amazing. The cornbread was so good; nice and moist and not that crumbly. It tasted great the next day too! I love baked potatoes(my comfort food) with everything on them, so it really hit the spot for me. The fried oyster po’ boy was really good as well and came with slaw and a pickle. I had so much food though, that I could only eat half the po’ boy. It still tasted great the next day as well. They have happy hour during the week with different specials; the next time I stay in the area, I’ll be sure to check it out.
