Melisse Eidman – Child Custody Evaluation and Mediation

I am a Certified Family Law Specialist who is in court four or five days a week. I deal with most of the child custody evaluators and mediators in Contra Costa, Alameda and Solano Counties. Ms. Eidman is highly qualified, highly experienced, of good temperament and she works hard. The problem in family law is that no matter what you do, someone is disappointed and has to find others to blame. It’s always the attorneys, the evaluators, the mediators, the judges, the system. Instead of looking and blaming others, these people need to look in the mirror and to ask themselves why highly respected professionals made the decision that was made. Ms. Eidman is not anti-​women or pro-​men. She’s usually pro-​kid. As to math, in family law 1 + 1 doesn’t always add up to 2 because of the myriad other people, and other factors, involved. Two people together can often do more than two people individually, etc. The bottom line is that most of the people who post things from family law cases are cowards hiding behind anonymity to take cheap shots at others because its easier to blame others than to admit to oneself that he or she is not perfect, or that he or she was partially responsible for a failure in life.

Heaven help you if you work with this woman. She is a horrible mediator who doesn’t seem capable of simple math and will make your situation more difficult. Not a creative problem solver and seems to have a vendetta against women. Run!

I was ordered to co-​parenting couseling with my ex-​husband by a judge in CC County. We selected Melisse from a list of counselors prepared by the court. Upon my first visit, my ex-​husband was irate and defensive. I was more than willing to cooperate. I truly thought this wasn’t going to work. But, Melisse found a way to get through that tough skin of my ex-​husband. She counseled him, me, us and my daughter for nearly 18 months. I found her to be fair and just. Not everyone gets what they want when it comes to custody, but it’s usually for the best. I found that due to Melisse’s expertise, my daughter is benefitting. And that’s what it’s really all about… making sure the children are taken care of!
