Web Dispatch

This is a trap hole for those who want to fix a computer or recover data from a hard drive. They’re not professional at all and care less about your needs. They first make you sign an agreement that says you will be paying a fee for a diagnostic test then wait for you to come in to pay the fee regardless of whether they fixed your computer problem or not.

They are very professional and polite. If you have a simple question they will most likely give you advice over the phone for free.

They repaired my Mac in a prompt timely fashion with no problems and charged me fairly. I am very happy with their service.

Every so often I have a computer issue, that needs professional attention. I am never disappointed when I take my issue to Web Dispatch. Friendly, more than knowledgeable and very reasonable. Bonus is the associates dogs in the office to pet!

Background: I don’t know much about computers, but in the interest of supporting a local business, I wanted to try going here vs. Apple first, thinking I could get what I needed fixed done here based on reviews of other Mac users. So I called to see about dropping off my non-​functional Mac Book Pro a few weeks ago. The man I spoke to was pleasant, explaining the issue would be need to be investigated, but was likely an issue they could do in-​house, that they do service Macs. I was made to think I’d drop off my computer, get a call with diagnostics, and have it back in the next two business days. The same day, a Wednesday, I came by to drop off my laptop, and the receptionist who greeted me wasn’t particularly friendly or descriptive about the terms of service — how long things would take, timeframe of when I’d get a phone call about the diagnostic issue, etc. — and she was eating at the front desk, which I think is just unprofessional, not to mention unwelcoming. Three days pass without a word on what the problem is, what the plan is to fix my computer, etc. I call them Monday to find out what the issue is and another pleasant man answered my phone call. He said he was one of the tech people, but wasn’t on my case. He said he assumed it was an issue requiring a new system or other likely, and it would be around $ 400 to fix. He also assured me that the engineer who was working on it would call me to confirm, and then they’d go ahead and repair if if that was indeed the issue, which sounded agreeable to me. Do I wish they had called me instead of me calling them three days later, wondering what the problem was? Yes. That may have been an expectation of mine, but like I said, the first person I spoke to initially made me think that they would be calling me and having it done in two business days, so I don’t think that was unreasonable. The tech engineer on my case calls me a few hours later, explaining it’s a Mac hardware issue, which is a service that they don’t offer — I’d have to go to Apple to have them look at their own product. You could imagine my annoyance in having to pay the $ 49 diagnostic fee — which is applied to service if they can fix it — to be told my issue was non-​serviceable. I was made to think the issue could be handled there, which was why I chose to go there instead of Apple. On top of that, the service I did get wasn’t consistent with follow-​up. I’m only giving this two stars because the male employees I spoke to were pleasant to me, but I will not be returning. If you have a Mac, just suck it up and make an appointment at the Genius Bar. For the record, the issue I had only cost $ 59 to fix, and not the $ 400 that was speculated.

Took my daughter’s computer there for service. They listened to our concerns, and offered several reasonable, cost effective solutions for her issue. I was pleased with the outcome. I also asked an unrelated question and the tech took the time to be sure I had the information I needed, even though it was outside the scope of the services we were paying for. Would definitely go back.

Wish I could give them a good review. Wish they could do what I paid them to do. Very disappointed. And they are very pricey and slow.

My daughter’s MacBook Air had a problem with the power plug on the computer. I went to Apple and had to wait in two lines for over 39 minutes only to be told I’d have to come back in six hours just to get an appointment for someone to look at it! Frustrated I gave WebDispatch a try! In a matter of seconds he saw a teeny tiny metal ball stuck in the plug blocking the connection to the cord. He simply used pliers and took it out. A whole two minute experience with nice, friendly people and I am on my way! A big thank you!

These guys were great to work with. Took the time to ask questions and explain without any feeling of rushing the customer. Seems like common sense but this type of service isn’t that common. Brought in an aging laptop and they diagnosed and fixed it as they said they would in the time and budget we discussed. Mike and the rest of the team were all helpful and friendly.

My daughter’s laptop was repaired in L. A and the screws they put in fell out.
I went for help to Web Dispatch and they put in new screws from the box of assorted screws they have, and didn’t even charge me! Their screws are staying put just fine :)

For the second time in a year I took my laptop to Web Dispatch and was so impressed with the personal customer service. All of my questions and concerns were addressed and I felt like I was really listened to. My computer picked up a virus that turned out to be a significant issue so I was especially grateful for the knowledge and expertise to be able to remove the virus and save all the data on my computer.
I was especially impressed during a phone call to John about whether to keep this laptop or consider changing to another type of laptop, that all my questions were answered and I never felt like my questions were unimportant. John was very patient with me and I was so grateful.
We will definitely use Web Dispatch in the future with any computer issues/​needs.

I called them to get a quote on replacing the fan on my dell laptop. I explained I had the replacement part and just needed it replaced. I was quoted $ 60. When I went there they said it would be $ 125. You decide if you want to deal with this kind of nonsense. Wasted an hour of my time going there for nothing.

Have used WebDispatch several times and they’re professional, honest and do a great job. They just fixed my PC after it crashed and I’m up and running and my computer is running better than ever. Definitely recommend.

I was very happy with the service I received from them. I called on a Thursday morning, dropped my laptop off an hour later and had it back by 3:00 the same day. My issue was minor, but I was glad to have it back so quick! Mike explained everything very well and even walked me through another small issue on the phone afterwards. I would use them again!

Extremely friendly, upfront, and honest. My desktop computer wouldn’t turn on, so I dropped it off at their store. After diagnosing the issue (power supply replacement), they were able to turn my computer around within the same day. They also didn’t charge me for backing up all of my files. As I told them when I picked my computer up, «Hopefully, I won’t have any more issues, but if I do, I’ll definitely come back here.»

My poor notebook died on me and I had no idea what the problem was. Imagine the scene from Sex and the City when Carrie’s laptop crashes. Yup, that was me. Reluctantly, I looked up some computer repair shops in the tri-​valley area and called Web Dispatch. The tech guru on the phone was super helpful and suggested I bring my notebook in so he could run a diagnostic and give me a quote. I asked him if it was ok if I wouldn’t be there until 4:30pm although they close at 5pm. He said that was fine and if he needed to, he’d stay past their closing time. When I arrived, the receptionist was friendly and mr. tech guru remembered me from having called earlier. He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave me his honest advice. Basically, the motherboard was fried (which is what I had suspected but needed a professional confirmation). Mr. Tech guru told me it wasn’t going to be worth the cost to fix it when I could just buy a brand new notebook. I’m happy that they didn’t try to sell me something or push me into getting it fixed when it’s not the best option. Although I didn’t actually have to pay for any of the services at WD, I’m still impressed with the service that I received there. I’d definitely recommend them for computer repairs and would return there in the future if I was in the area and needed some tech help. I’m confident that they are totally legit!

Jim Erickson and his crew at Web Dispatch do an excellent job every time. We recently reconfigured our office and needed to re-​cable and detail every piece of equipment that we have. I have been a customer for the past 3 years and rely upon them for IT support and «top-​notch» trouble-​shooting when needed. If you have a laptop or a network, I would recommend Web Dispatch for any job large or small.

I’v used Web Dispatch for over five years. They are efficient, effective, and reasonably priced. They put up with my hysteria when I think the world is falling apart because my system isn’t working. Charles is the best tech I’ve ever worked with. Knowledgeable, efficient, gets things done quickly which is a money saver. Charles has installed new computers every time I purchase (3 – 4) years, transferred all the files, documents, all within a timely manner and is available for followup if any problems occur. He has helped me with problems my own vendors couldn’t solve.

I first became aware of Web Dispatch last year when I spotted their vehicles parked in front of their building, adjacent to a gymnasium where I worked out. The computer mechanic that I had been using at the time had recently shut down, and I did have some computer work that needed doing, so the following day I gave them a call.
They answered the telephone on the first ring, asked to know the difficulty I’d been having, and we set up a housecall in less than ten minutes.
On the appointed day, the technician was five minutes early! Although my computer office was quite messy, he made no remarks about it, opened up my computer, and diagnosed the problem in minutes. As I watched him work, it was easy to see that he was both knowledgeable and that he liked his work. But more than that, the technician was like a miner who knew exactly where the mother-​lode was located and how to quickly deliver the gold. In less than 20 minutes, the work was done.
I was so pleased, I decided to give him another job, and I produced an old computer and asked if he could transfer the data from it to the other computer’s hard-​drive. He said this could be done, but the transfer time would add up my bill and that it would be more practical for the work to be done at their headquarters, and that I could pick it up in two days’ time.
He was helping me save money! What more could you ask for?
So, when a piece of old software on my computer started giving me problems two weeks ago – and resisted being uninstalled – I gave Web Dispatch a call. They performed their excellent work again!
I cannot recommend this company highly enough! They are terrific!
