Established in 2016.
Barbara Hart, CYC’s owner and chief cupcake creator was raised in the baking industry that led me her to developing Create Your Cupcake. Baking with her father, Sol, over the years gave her an appreciation and love for the industry.
CYC has a unique cupcake design that envelopes your Cremache choice with rich, moist cake (baked twice daily). Barbra chose a hexagonal cupcake shape as our signature. Hexagonal patterns are widespread in nature because of their efficient organization. The hexagon sets us apart from the traditional round cupcake.
CYC is all about efficient organization. Our innovative systems empower our customers to create their cupcakes in a fun, fresh way. Our unique delivery system is quick and fun to watch!

Business Owner
Barbara Hart is CYC’s owner and chief cupcake creator. Barbara’s lineage is linked to baking royalty. Her grandfather, Abe Sherwin, founded the Sherwin Baking Company in Ohio in 1919. Abe’s bakery and catering business, which was run alongside Barbara’s father, Sol, and his three brothers, enjoyed immense popularity in the Cleveland area throughout the 20th Century. She combined her years of working experiences, including working in Stephen’s manufacturing business, and applied the concept of subassemblies to baked goods, thus conceiving the idea for Create Your Cupcake. That led her to develop an innovative, patent-pending baking method which produces cupcakes with hollowed out centers. Customers can then choose in real-time to fill their personalized cupcakes with special, custard-based fillings known as Cremache®. Create Your Cupcake also allows customers to select their type of cake, frosting and toppings to suit their individual tastes.
