Still the best place for me! I’ve brought all my family’s cars here and have recommended friends to this shop and Tashmo does not disappoint. Great service, honest, and the price is fair. The owner is very knowledgeable. No hassles.

This shop was recommended through a forum for my car. I contacted at a really late time, possibly 11pm, and he got back to me within half an hour. Parking was limited but considering they share the small area with 2 or 3 other businesses it wasn’t a problem. Came by the next day they were open and talked to Daniel regarding what I wanted to do with my car and he helped me dodge a tremendous bullet regarding the purchase of aftermarket headers for my frs. Came by the following day a little before 1 and was out and driving before 2. My only complaint could be that while removing my stock headers, one of the mechanics dropped it but considering how hot it was by the steam coming off it, It wasn’t that big of a deal. Will definitely be coming back in the near future for any installs I need. Fast, great price and service. Not much more you could ask for.

Last night the battery charge light came on the dash. Either a belt or the alternator was the problem and I knew this morning I could only get so far on battery power. I called Tashmo because they are real close to my house and Daniel said bring it in. My regular mechanic is in Irvine and I usually have to make an appointment. Anyway, got to his shop, they determined it was the alternator (not surprising on my aging car) and I was out of there in an hour or so. I had my laptop with me and was offered the WiFi password and even offered coffee. Super nice. Guess I got a new mechanic now!

Im not from this area, but Im glad I chose this place (thanks Unilocal) Very straight forward attitude. They tell you what you need, and they give you options without trying to hassle you for the most expensive choice. Prices are fair, and I was in and out quickly.

Wow. Daniel, the owner is awesome. Being the klutz I am, I am always driving into trees, poles, over curbs and with my car being possessed with crazy windows and things rolling around in my soft top I’ve had to see quite a few mechanics. Being a girl I absolutely HATE going to auto shops, right ladies? however, daniel is definitely not your typical shady mechanic. I’ve actually never met a more caring, honest, generous, FAST mechanic than him. I highly recommend him for all your auto needs, there’s a reason why he has so many 5 star ratings!

I’ve been taking my BMW E46 M3 to Tashmo for standard maintenance and I’d like to vouch for his shop. I rarely trust mechanics, but Tashmo is fair and logically troubleshoots issues instead of throwing parts at problems. He won’t suggest extra services and if you disagree with any of his points, do a little research. He’d be happy to converse about it if you’re being logical and at least show that you made a little effort in knowing what you’re talking about.
I would definitely recommend him for maintenance work! He’ll stand by his work as i’ve had an issue with my pulleys/​belts making noise. It was hard to nail down the culprit, but he didn’t charge me extra over the initial job.

I started taking my vehicles to this business back when he operated in a smaller shop. Since then hes grown so much and its all because of the quality of his work and customer service. I have absolutely no problem recommending this shop to anyone who needs a mechanic. I’m on a motorcycle now so I dont get to drop by as much, but he’s doing a great job at keeping my mothers car up and running. Reasonable prices and great service.

Daniel is the best! Awesome service, super friendly. Honest and fair with pricing. The only shop I’ll come to for any repair. He is a busy dude but if you get in early he will have the car ready in a day! He did a great job on my transmission and radiator without breaking the bank. Great, fast, well-​priced service. What more could you ask for?

Daniel the owner answered my call and said I could come right away to get service. They did an inspection and said I needed the oil change and battery change. I asked to do some more. They did it all without me waiting for a service tech. Wish all auto services were this fast.

I normally do not post reviews just because I am typically too lazy to do so, but exceptional service overrides that laziness lol. I was looking for a mechanic to service my 2011 Prius when I found this place. The 5 star rating peaked my interest enough to give this place a try and Daniel exceeded my expectations in terms of customer service, price, friendliness, and honesty. It felt like I was having a trusted friend service my car. I will definitely be coming back to this place despite me living 30 miles away; that is how exceptional this place is.

Just went there yesterday. Great service and very straight forward in what you need.
Brought in my car since it was making some rattling noises. After they were done, I could barely hear the engine and gear shifting has greatly improved.
Comfy waiting room and their bathroom is incredibly clean. Definitely would come back for oil changes and future car maintenance.

Came in to get the rear valve cover gasket installed for my Lexus RX300 and they did it quickly and at a great price. I want to thank the guys at Tashmo for doing a great job. I will definitely be back.

Please read on as this place should be avoided by people who have other options or want to work with the same mechanic repeatedly in the long run for work consistency and reliability.
During my first visit for an oil change, I was strongly recommended a transmission fluid change for about $ 150 and was told it was due (my car had 62,000 miles, and was promptly serviced at every 5~6k miles prior to my visit here). I agreed to the service and later found out at the dealer (also confirmed by the user manual) a trans fluid change on my specific car is due at between 100,000~110,000 miles, what a rip off. Luckily I didn’t also go for his recommendations for replacing spark plugs, which according to the dealer/​manual is due at 90,000~100,000 miles (again my car had only about 62k).
During my visit I had also requested for my front/​rear tires to be rotated. When i was given back my key, I asked if that had been done, and the response I received (with a hesitation in making the response) was: «your tires would need to be replaced at your next service in 5000 miles anyways…”(stopped there, so I knew he didn’t rotate the tires). Well, not mentioning it’s my decision after the next 5k miles if I would replace my tires, but he has not done the rotation as I have requested (and he agreed), and my rear tires have more treads than my front ones so that means the next 5k miles will cause the front ones to wear down even further.
In addition, I discovered a greasy mop from this shop being pinched underneath my front hood, 2 weeks after my visit. luckily it was pinched under the very front edge of the hood, not covering any heat venting components further down in the middle.
I recommend that you don’t bring your cars here. Plenty of good honest mechanics out there who work with integrity and count on repeating customers, just not this one who only cares about up selling and not thinking of true needs of the cars or even work quality.

I’ve been here twice in a month. First time was for a fast and cheap oil change on my Prius which was flashing a check engine light. Arrived early and Daniel had the car ready in an hour (and they looked busy). Second time was yesterday for a part replacement on my 12 year old Subaru. Daniel called within an hour to tell me the problem and to tell me the cost. The car was ready by lunch.
I’m new to Santa Ana and know little about car repairs but I went on the strength of the great Unilocal reviews and I found them professional, reasonably priced and trustworthy. Nothing more than I needed was suggested. 5 stars.
Bonus for having a self serve car wash next door too.

The reviews are just as they say! I entrusted this place with my out of warranty BMW… service, maintenance, and fix an out headlight. Daniel was great! Very professional, reliable, and no surprises. The headlight was found on eBay and it was all taken care of by Daniel. Outstanding customer service! I will defiantly come back to this place. I loved seeing all the photographs of my car describing areas of concern while it was lifted in the air. My ride was ready for pick up early, and the invoice came in under the quoted price! Very nice!

I’m a few months late on this review, but it’s almost time for an oil change, so I thought I’d write about my previous experience.
Spent about 2 weeks looking for a place in the OC to do my oil change since I’ve been hearing this terrible rattling when in gears 1 – 3. My G35 is lowered on coilovers (almost slammed), and I was constantly rejected because other shops didn’t know how to get the car onto their rack properly without damaging my car, which is understandable. I went to 4 different Firestone locations, all of which rejected me. And the places with pit racks were asking for $ 120 for the synthetic oil change that I needed: ridiculous.
After getting rejected by a Firestone, I looked up places that could accommodate my car. To my surprise, Tashmo was literally 10 seconds away. Upon arriving, I saw many worked on cars parked around the store, so this was a good sign. Talked with Danny, and his shop didn’t have a pit rack, but he informed me that they know how to get the car onto the rack safely. This was a huge relief, but also a huge disappointment on the other locations that I visited.
The staff there knows how to deal with lowered cars, and there’s a window in the waiting room to see what’s going on incase you want to see what’s being done.
The entire job took about 40ish minutes and cost about $ 60, which was more than satisfactory. The staff informed me that the previous shop that did my oil change put the incorrect date for a change, which had my car performing on minimal/​no oil. I was a bit embarrassed that this happened, but the guys there gave me a little pep talk about the whole ordeal. Danny and his crew care about their customers and make sure that everything is addressed (they even checked my brakes for me and said I needed to change pads soon.)
The only other place that I get my car serviced is all the way down in Santee, so I plan on saving half a tank of gas by coming here. Thanks for a pleasant, and car-​saving experience! I’ll be seeing you guys soon.

Right after N Tustin Ave and Old Tustin Ave are merged (coming from Tustin), there’s a small auto related shopping plaza. It’s in there — on the far left side of corner! Sometimes there’s no parking spot despite of lots of parking spaces due to too many auto shops in the small plaza…
Office: It got bigger. Nothing fancy, but oh well.
Service: Danny is very friendly, honest, trustworthy, detail oriented, considerate, not pushy and down to earth. He won’t intimidate you and explains to you what’s the issue, how he’ll fix, what options are available to you etc. Make sure you mention everything you’re concerned so that he can check more throughly. I don’t know about car, so I’ll just mention everything I know or am worried… He won’t do unnecessary works just to make $$$. Very fast, but just call in ahead to see whether if he has time for you.
Price: As other reviews mentioned, I think the price here is very reasonable and inexpensive.

I come here and there for major issues (problems or just regular check up) since it’s so hard to find an honest and reliable auto shop.

Extremely happy with the service. I initially made an appointment for soft top replacement only. I told one of the mechanic that the fill plug on my manual transmission was broken. If they can open it, then they can go ahead and change the fluid.
About 2 hours later, I received a phone call that they were able to open the broken fill plug and change the fluid! Before I came to Tashmo Auto Center, I went to 2 other Auto shops but none of them were able to change my transmission fluid! Even with vise grip and ballpein hammer.
Daniel also sent me pics of my soft top being replaced! I was able to pick up my Miata the following day! Really fast service and all mechanics are very knowledgeable. I will definitely come back again as soon as I get my differential!
