I was clearly here before 9pm on a Thursday. Being that I live far away, I come all the way over here for the awesome bread. However, Tony get this place has lost my business. I knocked on the door and the guy clearly saw me. He knew it was ten minutes to 9 and came to the door. Through the mail drop he says «they don’t pay me after 9pm» and walked away. Really? You’re useless, and because of jerks like you, people will start going to Oli’s. It would have taken you five seconds to open the door, let me and my kids get our bread and still be out by 9pm.

This bakery is my goto for tres leches cakes. The cakes are fresh and the «real deal.»
I’ve been here multiple times over the past three years and it’s always worth the trip!

They have the best cake. No other cake is better. It’s the kind you’ll dream about at night and then raid the fridge at 3am. I buy their cakes for partys, events, birthdays, etc. when I first started there was never any leftovers. Now I buy extra for planned overs only at the end folks ask if they can take some home too, it’s that good. So if you need one cake just buy two.

I don’t review many places. When I do it’s because the place was beyond my expectations. I don’t write bad reviews because I believe everybody has their own experience at each place. That being said, I was not planning on coming to this bakery. Memorial Day weekend, finding an open bakery is difficult. I’m glad I found this one. The cake I picked was Tres Leches with strawberries and it’s BEAUTIFUL!!! I loved the color, the flowers, and the presentation overall. Everybody at the BBQ said, «WOW!» The customer service was excellent and the person that helped me was very courteous. I’m happy to have found this place!

Parking lot is not pleasant but if you can pass that. The moment you walk into the bakery the smell will possess you. Then what impresses me the most above all the delicious freshly baked bread is the customer service. They really go above and beyond. It’s really a hole in the wall bakery a true mom and pop operation. I always grab the birthday cakes for my family or celebrations. Always moist always full of lots of fruit. The cream not overly sweet just perfection. The tres leches cakes are my personal favorite but not limited to the Mexican bread Las conchas. They open really early and close super late.
They take plastic.

They are awesome! They actually took the time to decorate the flan I bought! Friendly people!

Best sweet bread ever so flaky perfectly sweetened and soft to the touch best conchas you will ever have seriously recommend buying some bread here and kicking back with a cup of milk

My go to place for birthday cakes. The parking lot is a pain if you drive a big truck so be prepared to park on the edge of the lot. My Vietnamese family enjoyed the pastel de tres leches, it’s not overbearing nor trying to be bougie, just gets the job done at a reasonable price. A flower jello is a good accompaniment to the whipped cream from the cake. All in all, place is legit, the workers are friendly, and the product is good. Enjoy.

Been coming to this bakery for years love their flan, pan dulce, tres leches cake, bolillos, and croissants. If your ever near by check them out I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Yum! I was craving a tres leches piece of cake so I found this place on Unilocal.I went in and browsed around and the young man at the counter was so helpful and let my husband and I sample a couple of pastries. We ended up leaving happy and got the tres leches, flan, and a couple of sweet breads. Delicious pastries and great service

LOVE this place! Pan dulce is to die for! Best in the O. C! Im not big on writing reviews on Unilocal,but I must share how amazing this place is. We always get our bread and bolillo here. Its always fresh. The place smells delicious because they are always baking. Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is super nice! Great customer service, they will go above and beyond to accommodate your needs.
I just ordered a cake for an event and Elizabeth was more than helpful. She’s very professional and knows exactly what you need. They have a huge variety of designs! And prices are great. (another place in Santa Ana was charging $ 290! For the same exact cake! Tlaxcala charged me $ 150)
Give them a try! You’ll love it!!! Try the flower design jello! It tastes just as delicious as it looks! They also have the best flan!!! I know my flans and I’ve had them from several places, Tlaxcala bakery takes the #1 prize!

Got a tres leches sheet cake and although it was a good cake with strawberry filling, it didn’t taste as tres leches: not very moist, no dripping milk, not very sweet… it tasted more like strawberry shortcake.
Price was very good and service was friendly.
Place is small and full with carts of bread that smell delicious.
No extra charge if you use cc for purchases above $ 10.

Don’t come around lunch time… they like to mop the floors and will not allow anyone in… I waited even after the floors dried and they wouldn’t let me in. (I know sounds weird) Apparently they do this every day, somebody else has the same problem with this… LOL

i wanted to go to grande bakery but they are closed on monday and i didnt know that. not wanting to waste my time driving to santa ana to get some sweet mexican bread, i decided to try this place out. the variety of the breads was quite a lot, including pan dulce, pastries, and the cream type one. i love anything with cream or custard like texture and i was excited to see that they make this. this was what i bought (

the pan dulce wasnt that good, it taste like stale bread and the top wasnt crispy at all. the pastries was sweet, taste like crispy croissant with sugar and cinnamon. nothing special and not my favorites. the cream bread was pretty good. the custard cream inside was creamy, not thick, and taste different from the custard i normally get at asian bakeries. they put the custard in a soft shell pastry that was very crispy with powdered sugar on top.
i also got the chocolate tres leches for $ 2.50 i believe (
). the cake taste like the instant box cake you get in the supermarket. but i do like the strawberry fillings they put inside the cake and the milk that make this cake called tres leches. it taste very fresh and good.
they say they accept CC but make sure you know that they will charge you an extra 50 cent for CC users. my bill came out to be $ 9.50 (not cheap for mexican bakeries) and i was charge $ 10 because i used CC.
parking was sucks and hard to find even though i came in the morning. small parking lot with big trucks and impatient drivers everywhere. with many other better mexican bakeries in the area, i dont think ill be back.

When not be oogled or being harassed by The Duke himself Jimi H this place is awesome! Great bread and fresh. The selection could be better but the Mexican bread is delicious!

Off the grid snack stop for sweet bread & tres leches. Get em while they’re hot. Remember, it was the Tlaxcalans who whomped the Aztecs in the summer of 1520.

Floor to ceiling bread trays! It always smells like heaven!

This is seriously THE place to get your sweet bread and bolillo. They also make delicious cakes and pastries. The cashier is über-​friendly and their bread is always fresh. Bolillo is 4 for $ 1, teleras are 3 for $ 1 and sweet bread prices vary depending how much of a specialty bread it is. This bakery also makes these huge bolillos (about a foot long) and sell them for $ 1 each.

Hey OC-​ers! Next time a friend asks you to «bring dessert»…pull off the 55 fwy and pick up a ‘pastel de tres leches’ from here. I promise you will impress both your gabacho and latino pals!
3 of the 4 walls of the place are clear, floor-​to-​ceiling pastry cases…4^th wall is the cashier and your metal sheet and tongs to pick out your fresh selections… sweet and plain, fresh breads and cookies.
But I come here with a mission: To get the milkiest moistest Mexican cake, covered with white icing and fresh strawberries.
(Note, they do have another location on Fairview, but it’s strangely not as good as this location)
