Divinitree Yoga and Art Studio

Traveling through town, I wanted a place to do yoga and stumbled upon this place. Had a fantastic practice in the Sun Room studio with Chyla. The ambiance in the place was great. she dimmed the lighting before practice and lit candles. Music was excellent and I am told they even have a live music session, which I am definitely intrigued to check out. I liked the huge studio and there were not that many people there for 8am on a Thursday (probably 6 of us total) so it was very intimate and tailored to our needs/​levels. It was a challenging vinyasa flow and yet very relaxing. I left feeling rejuvenated but also noticed that I did break a sweat! That’s exactly what I wanted.
Overall, great place. Glad I found it and will be stopping through here more often on my trips to Santa Barbara. I am recommending this place to my uncle, who will be stopping through town in a few weeks as well. Great people, great atmosphere.

Such a yoga gem in SB. There are so many good options in town but Divinitree is my favorite because of the teachers. Each teacher is genuine, compassionate, fun, and manage to push me further than any other yoga class has. I am especially loving the prana flow on Tuesdays and Thursdays w/​Pixie but each teacher is WONDERFUL.

The people, the yoga instructors, the energy of the studio are all amazing!!! My favorite instructor is Pixie and she teaches Vinyasa Flow. Her yoga style is challenging but not too difficult that you can’t decompress. She has excellent teaching style that focuses on the holistic and spiritual side of yoga. Pixie is also very helpful in correcting your body mechanics so you’re less prone to injury — super important!
The studio is clean and the room feels heated… just slightly above 75 °F to get your muscles warmed up. I always break a sweat but not sure if it’s really heated. I love the calming color of the studio and the awesome artwork.
You won’t be disappointed coming to this studio… Workshops are also really cool and insightful! $ 15 drop-​in is right in my price range

I dropped in here for my obligatory vacation yoga class, and what started off as a little bit of a frustrating experience was quickly turned around. When we got to the studio, there was nobody at the front desk and while there was a self-​serve sign in iPad, no instructions on what to do as a new student. After a few prolonged moments of standing around looking confused, the guy that was sweeping looked up and seemed to realize that we needed help and got the waivers to sign and hooked us up with free mats, which was nice. You’re asked to clean the mat before returning it, which squicks me out a bit because I came in with clean feet so I don’t think I got the mat that dirty, and my rag from cleaning was definitely fairly dark and grimy after my thorough wipedown. It would have been nice to have a little more of an orientation– I was sure where to put shoes and personal belongings, but it wasn’t that big of a deal.
My class was in the sun room, which was fairly large, mirrorless (which I appreciate) and stocked with blocks, straps and blankets. If people set up in a more orderly fashion, there would have been plenty of room but as it was a little haphazard, I ended up with either my leg extending back to kick a shelf in three legged dog, or a foot in my face from the person in front of me. At this point, it might sound like I hated everything, but I teach yoga, so I’m just nitpicking!
As for class itself, I generally really enjoyed it quite a bit. The teacher, Rachel, had a laid-​back style of teaching, wasn’t heavy handed with the theming, and encouraged people to use the props or modify if needed. She spent part of the time demonstrating at the front of the room and part of the time wandering and assisting, which as a teacher, is so important to me, especially in a big class. She kept the class fairly accessible to all levels– most of the poses were the standard ones you’ll find in a vinyasa class, but a lot of times with a twist– a different arm variation or way to enter the asana– while still incorporating options to take arm balances and inversions, since this was a level ²⁄₃ class. At times, it was slightly hard to understand what she was saying since it was a big space and we were in the corner, but overall it was relatively easy to follow.
I would definitely return to this studio the next time I’m in town– they have a large variety of classes and I’m dying to see what ninja training is all about!

Love Divinitree so much. Though I am partial to Kundalini, every single class I have tried has been amazing. All of the teachers are so authentic, knowledgeable and helpful and the studio has such a wonderful energy. Some of my favorite teachers are Mitsuko, Iris and Jordan, but you can’t go wrong with any class at this studio. Both the Moon Room and Sun Room are such beautiful, peaceful spaces, with lovely artwork.

I may just have to let go of my gym membership to come to Divintree full time! In today’s class, I was nurtured and challenged in my mind body and spirit by Ann Averbach– a master yogini and teacher. This type of fitness is unparalleled. The room was just the right temp., music was live and appropriate, and Ann’s instruction was deep and inspiring. I feel charged and changed from one class. I’m hooked. Thank you Ann!!!

All yoga studios should have juice/​smoothie bars! I was visiting Santa Barbara from out of town with a friend, and we decided to go to the Gentle class on Sunday at 11. She was recently in a car accident and I am pregnant, so we were looking for something restorative and relaxing, and the substitute teacher Justine delivered. It was a unique and well structured class, and we will definitely go again when we come back to visit SB!

I love this yoga studio! So many different types of classes, but all of the ones I’ve tried have been awesome. Great teachers. I find that the pranayama and meditation some of the teachers incorporate really grounds me, and I love the atmosphere.
Their healthy snacks and drinks are also wonderful.

I love yoga and have taken classes everywhere but Divinitree stands out as my favorite studio by far. The customer service is always helpful and very friendly. My boyfriend and I are addicted to Pixies classes. She is such a gem! She really knows her stuff and afterword you feel both serene and also like you got an amazing workout. She was gone in India
recently but is back now (yea!) and I cant wait to go back to her classes.

Best place for yoga in town
I tried different instructors and although I love almost all of them as usual I would not like 2 but it is ok.
I will keep going there because out of all the yoga places I tried I love this one.
I also like the healthy, juice store that shares the space with them. The gentleman that runs ir is from New Zealand and is super friendly and eager to help you to find new healthy vitamins, teas or products and may also invite you to try their powders and products. Don’t leave a class without trying some of their energy smoothies!

I feel so blessed to have been turned on tho this treasure. I even happened to stumble in to the studio during free college week or whatever and didn’t even have to pay a drop in fee! That gave me an extra few bucks to spend on the rediculously selection of foreign vitamins. I spent over $ 400 from what I can remember so definitely went overboard but the Ron Teegarden lesection they have there is straight bonkers!

What is there not to like about Divinitree? Beautiful and magical practice rooms, with friendly people and an amazing array of classes to choose from. The only drawback, in my opinion, is the parking. Yet I give it 5 stars as the studio is just too good. It is also the only studio with such a variety of classes (apart from Yoga Soup). I love the fact that they incorporate spirituality into the classes too; yoga is supposed to be a mental and physical journey. I have tried many of the classes/​instructors, and while they are all different and good, my favorites are:
Sound Bath with Shane
Strong Flow with Chyla
Prana Flow with Pixie
Yogalates with Arianna
Restorative with Deborah
It’s amazing how much difference the instructor can make in how I perform at a particular class.

I don’t do yoga however I do live a healthy lifestyle and the smoothies and food available here is the real deal, A lot of places give the impression that they offer healthy smoothies and food but are generally far from the truth. This place uses amazing ingredients creating healthy super food smoothies and elixirs. If you are looking for a natural health high with great tasting healthy treats check this place out.

I came in to Divinitree at a beginning level, and they were incredibly welcoming and accommodating to my needs & goals. The staff was very friendly and helped me find classes to fit my level of experience and physical ability. Not only have I benefited physically, but the camaraderie is rewarding and the classes are really fun! I can’t speak for advanced level yogis, but for beginners, this is definitely a premier studio! I have since signed up for their monthly package and I couldn’t be happier with my progress. I am very thankful for Divinitree’s presence in Santa Barbara. Namaste.

I love this yoga studio! I personally take several classes here a week and recommend my patients to the studio as well. The wide range and variety of classes offered each week sets this studio apart from other yoga studios in Santa Barbara. I highly recommend the sound healing classes with Shane and the Goddess yoga circle Monday evenings with Amanda! Whatever you are looking for, this studio offers!

Love the classes they offer and how beautiful the space is! So far have done Kundalini yoga (with Vikki sweet presence) and conscious kickboxing class (With Briana such a high vibing gem!) and excited to try out some vinyasa. Also did a relaxing and restorative class with Mark and came out feeling super present and relaxed.
I feel like i am in a temple in the «sun» room, great energy and sweet vibes. their ecstatic dance and intro to contact dance is held in there too (yes so fun!!) 2 yoga rooms, one healing room in the back courtyard (massages and body work oh my:) and an amazing elixir bar in front with tons of healthy goodies to treat myself to.
Moving from Santa Cruz and loving the divinitree studio there makes the transition that much smoother. So grateful to already feel that the teachers and workshops are just as high quality! Did the workshop «Money is Love» and was really powerful! Hallelujah I have found my new studio! :-D

I love this studio. I have been to the one in Santa Cruz and was excited to learn of them opening another studio in Santa Barbara. They have had free yoga all month long, so I was able to check out a couple of classes. My favorite class so far is the Vinyasa Flow with Tiff. She teaches a few classes in the morning and in the evening and her classes are a great workout!
This studio has a great vibe… very funky and fun. Lots of positive energy and a range of classes and events.

Free yoga for June 2013 in honor of their grand opening. Hard to pass up for anyone I must say ;) Came in today for my first class and it was great. Challenging (yet tailored to your abilities) and gave me a good sweat.
Great studio for new or practicing yogis to enjoy. Very clean and an awesome mural inside the studio.
