Kotuku Elixir Bar & Superfood Store

This place is fantastic. I found it when I was in town a few months ago. The first time I had a great smoothie. This time I had a vegan, gluten free, organic, macrobiotic bento box. It was off the charts! Thank you for sharing such nutritious, tasty food.

Rude customer service… walked in because The door was wide open and lights on. I had a question concerning the products and the clerk said very rudely «get out we are closed» and when I said ok, but can I ask a question about your products, he said «I guess» In an even ruder away that I walked away. I never want to do business nor refer anyone to this business simply because of that. The key to good business is GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Best store of its kind in Santa Barbara. Olly is a wonderful alchemist and is so knowledgable and willing to share his wisdom. Kotuku is so much more than your typical juice bar or health shop. Olly has curated the best selection of superfoods, supplements and products, and can tell you anything you want to know about all of them. His own brand of chlorella is the best I’ve tried and probably the best on the market. So lucky to have this wonderful place in Santa Barbara.

Was so good the first time I went back for 2^nd’s! Stopped by earlier this week for their bento box and I loved it so much I came back today to get it again. It was amazing. Some sort of mix of black rice, avo, pickled cucumbers, lettuce, sauerkraut and another herb. Heaven! So filling too! Both times I felt stuffed. Had to write a review right after, it was so good. The owner is super knowledgeable in all things herbal and so nice to talk to. Love the customer service here especially when so many places in SB can be lacking. Lots of detox type stuff here and whole food, organic and vegan meals, snacks, etc. Coffee and tea too!

They are not open when they say they are. Website says they open at 8am everyday. I have gone out of my way to visit them at 8:30, 9, and today at 11:30 and they haven’t shown up for work yet… Waste of time.

I am blessed to have found this place. Extremely genuine and knowledgeable staff (Olly), with a true passion to obtain the finest ingredients for human health on the planet. Not your typical juice/​smoothie bar. I can feel the ingredients working wonders for my physical and mental health. Perhaps start with the «got my goat» and go from there. Truly remarkable and a godsend for those looking for genuine quality.

This is one of favorite places in all of Santa Barbara. I love to go there for lunch. They have amazing bento boxes filled with delicous salad. Every day there are different choices. I love the black rice with flash pickled cucumbers the best, followed closely by their chickpea over greens salad. The owner puts a lot of love and superfoods in every box. He doesn’t skimp on quality. He uses very high quality ingredients and greens straight from the farmers market. The owner is very knowledge about eating healthy. I always leave there happy and healthy.

Special place. Super food extraordinare! Everyone is super knowledgeable and there are lots of great options. I love the chai alive, bento box and super balls :) that’s not what they are called I forget. It’s my go to for quick and nutritious fuel.

Might safely say this place saved my life. I spent over $ 400 from what I can remember so definitely went overboard but the Ron Teegarden selection they have is straight bonkers!
I highly recommend starting your path here for anyone who wants to learn more about how to eat right and/​or use nature’s treasures to help reach max health.

Whenever I need a delicious, healthy drink or snack this is where I head! The food is raw, organic, and local and the drinks are always refreshing after a yoga class at DiviniTree Yoga. I am grateful for this healthy option in downtown Santa Barbara, and highly recommend the chocolates!

kotuku is NUMERO UNO on my list of healthy, divine eats in santa barbara. don’t even get me started on the bento boxes. and the nutritious smoothies, teas, and almond milks? obsessed. and the space as well just feels good– filled with beautiful materials, heaps of natural light, and a harmonious, sweet vibe that is only heightened by the yoga studio that it shares a space with. kotuku is where it’s at, folks. do you and your body a favor and pay this gem a visit! When I am out of energy I go see Olly at Kotuku for a natural boost. Really amazing knowledge and recipes. Also I feel that I am learning a lot about herbs from my visits.

this is a very healthy and delicious place. if you are looking for an excellent lunch stop by and grab a bento box or a smoothie! the owner is very knowledgeable about herbal healing and nutrition and he carries only the highest quality food and products. you can’t go wrong. i would recommend this gem to anyone. world class.

I love the food here and think its such a gem! The bento box’s are delicious, and there was this yummy little green leaf in it I was not familiar with. Olly the owner was sweet to tell me about it, called purslane. Discovered from him it actually has the highest form of omega 3 in the plant kingdom! How cool. All of the smoothies, elixers, Chinese herbs, coffee and even chocolate there is high quality and know im putting something healthy into my body, no matter what I order. :)
There are a few parks around and close by, so its easy to grab some food and relax in nature while enjoying your food. Or take it to State street and do some people watching. Or you can dine in the store front area there is a nice bar to sit at.
He gets all his food fresh, local and on farmers market days he goes in and loads up on all the goodies. You can easily tell this food is the best because its so fresh! Sometimes the bento boxes run out around lunch time because they are so popular, so come early! The store front shares space with Divinitree yoga studio, so there is a really sweet vibe here (maybe that helps digestion?) The probiotic drinks or sauerkraut probably helped with that too, my tummy is so happy afterwards :)

Definitely the best kept secret in town. This food is as good as it gets. Not only is it the healthiest thing I can find in Santa Barbara, it also tastes absolutely AMAZING. Super fresh, organic, local and tasty. I crave the Bento Box if I don’t have one for a day or two, they’re delicious and leave you feeling full and energized. Olly, the owner of Kotuku, is super knowledgeable about health in general. He is always willing to spend time with his customers to chat with them about anything and everything. He answered all the questions I had regarding different herbal remedies, the ingredients in his food and how he makes all his beverages and other products. Its obvious that Olly takes the time and effort to ensure that the products he provides his customers with are definitely of the highest quality. Not to mention he’s just an overall kind, considerate person (& well traveled New Zealander). Check it out and you won’t be disappointed!

They fresh press their almond milk and provide it and other healthy drinks in returnable/​refillable mason jars to go.
