Very thorough, kind, and honestly the best optometrist I have ever had!

i was scheduled for cataract surgery, and terrified. Dr. Jackson and his staff, as well as every single member of the Santa Barbara Surgery Center, were flawless. Compassionate, caring, adept, professional. From the initial apartment, through surgery and on through follow up, absolutely 100% amazing. Allowing someone with a scalpel near your eyeball is pretty scary stuff. You couldn’t be in better hands! I couldn’t recommend him enough.

I highly recommend Dr. Jacobson to everyone who cares about preserving and improving their vision. He is caring, knowledgeable, skillful and attentive. I appreciate how much time he takes to review my records, examine me thoroughly and discuss his recommendations and options. His staff is always warm and welcoming. I am so glad an ophthalmologist who is so trustworthy and nice!

I had cataract surgery in both eyes. Everything came out great and I’m quite happy with the results. Members of his staff are excellent, as well.

Very friendly guy and definitely takes his time with you during your appointment. My issues with him were he didn’t let me know how expensive a simple seeming procedure would be and I was shocked when the bill came. The other issue is he measured my prescription wrong twice and I ultimately had to go pay for a 3^rd eye exam at Costco to get glasses that correct my vision adequately.

Dr. Jacobson is without a doubt one of the most caring, comprehensive, and thoughtful doctors I have ever seen. I wanted to see a doctor while in Santa Barbara for the week, and Dr. Jacobson and his wonderful assistant Anne made a special concerted effort to fit me in and see me. Despite seeing me at the end of the day (after conducting in surgery in Ventura all day), Dr. Jacobson spent approximately 45 minutes meeting with me — first listening to me speak about my eye problem and taking a comprehensive medical history, then performing an exam, then talking with me about possible causes and treatments for my eye problems. Dr. Jacobson was extremely knowledgeable, and knew a great deal about how my eye problems might be related to other medical concerns. I have seen many doctors over the past few years, and two others ophthalmologists for this same problem, and Dr. Jacobson was the first and only doctor who has taken this amount of time to talk with me and consider my situation. I strongly recommend Dr. Jacobson. Not many doctors are as thorough, knowledgable and caring.

I just needed my prescription updated, and am particular about how I want glasses to function in my life. Dr. Jacobson was fantastic at hearing my needs, and adjusting my prescription to be so much more comfortable and appropriate for how I use glasses. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, I feel so fortunate for finding them on Unilocal and finding my new eye doctor — I encourage you to choose them for your every-​day eyesight needs!

If you want to have a positive experience in a doctor’s office, rest assured, you will have one here. Dr Jacobson is knowledgeable, friendly, personable, and has a pleasant sense of humor. I love it when doctors respect my intelligence and treat me as if I am a part of the process of my own health care. Dr. Jacobson is such a man. He takes the time required to make sure you have a full understanding of what is going on what the options are. His office is comfortable to be in, parking is ample, and his secretary is also delightful. She offers valuable support and facilitates graceful communication with a professional understanding of the doctor’s requests and instructions. I felt taken care of and appreciated from the moment I first called the office. I would recommend Dr. Jacobson highly to anyone.

Having to change caregivers is never easy, particularly if you have had excellent care. With that in mind, it was very comforting, reassuring and wonderful to meet Dr. Jacobson as my new Ophthalmologist. He is warm, knowledgeable and takes time to get to know you, which in my mind, makes for the best doctoring. Truly gave me confidence in my treatment. Our little girl Ella had a small imperfection underneath her eye. We were reticent to subject her to a procedure to fix the problem because of her age but after talking with the doctors at Eye Specialists of Santa Barbara decided it was the right choice. They treated Ella like family and the procedure went great! We couldn’t be happier with the results and had a wonderful experience.
