Goleta Valley Self Storage

I have had storage units over the last 15 years at different facilities around SB and Goleta Valley Self Storage is the BEST! I had one downtown but the hours were limited and it wasn’t clean. People wandered in and out of the building without supervision. It was not clean at all. One facility near upper State Street I had my lock broken and things stolen.
The storage facility here is was a longer distance to drive but it was worth it. It has great hours 7am — 7pm EVERYDAY! Unlike some that have different hours on the weekend or are only open 9 – 6. This made a huge difference for me. Also there is a gate code to drive or walk in so strangers are not just walking around and wandering the hallways. The unit I had was in an indoor hallway which was great because it kept things cool in the summertime being on the first floor.
The best is the staff. Rebecca in the office helped me with so many complications with my moving in and out that it took a lot of stress away. It’s a business that is run by people in SB for people in SB. It’s great it has that local feel unlike some big ones that are all over the country. I never had a problem and that is how you want it to be. When you are storing things you just want to know it’s all good and forget about it.

I love Goleta Valley Self Storage. The staff is amazing and so friendly. I love the receptionist Rebecca. It’s the top of the line for self storage. Super clean. Safe. Good hours. The Wine Cave is incredible for storing wine. Love this place! Five stars!!!

The front desk receptionist is super helpful and kind. Made a reservation on the phone and got a free lock. I’m also a student and they waived the initial fee. Quick and easy to start up the rental agreement and answered all questions I had. Easily accessible into the building and I like the gateway being coded.

We have had such a great experience. The facility is so clean, safe and organized. The people we have worked with are polite, friendly, efficient and easy to work with. We would definitely use Goleta Valley Storage again.

Best place to store my stuff! Amazingly clean facility, and if you’ve stored items at other places, you know how nice this feels! I also really like the security and the SUPER nice staff! Sometimes it’s just the little things (like the Great Coffee and Chocolates at the main office) but here it’s also that you can just tell that these folks care about doing a great job. I don’t have enough wine to use their secure wine cellars, but my guess is that they are pristine as the rest of the property! Nice to see that a small business can still make a difference in our local community!

Needed storage again this year and went straight to this wonderful storage again. The same staff in place– amazing ladies– super clean and honestly the rates are the best. Couldn’t be happier with this place. Office ambiance is like a 5 star hotel. LOVE!

This family owned business is such refreshing change from the impersonal chain storage places in SB. Their rates are better than the competition across the freeway and the facilities are kept immaculate. Lots of security and personable staff are a big plus too.

I recently moved a two-​bedroom apartment (and piano) coast to coast and had to make the storage arrangements long-​distance.
I was VERY nervous about this since I was using a professional national brand moving company (United) which would deliver out of a huge 18 wheeler. Access can be a real problem for those big guys and my United moving coordinator stressed that this was an issue.
The first two places I contacted in the SB-​Goleta area could not access a large van. And it turned out that vacancies were a bit of an issue; I could not nail this down as early as I wanted.
Also, I was troubled about how much space I would actually need because I just couldn’t believe all my stuff could fit in just 150 square feet at the rate I was stacking boxes back in PA. The first place I called had an easy solution: just hire more space at twice the fees!
So I made one last call and was lucky enough to find this gem of a family business. Fawn, my customer service representative REALLY listened. We talked about the 18 wheeler access, my concerns about storing my piano and what unit would be available when I needed it — which she virtually guaranteed. I was also in communication with her on the road — and when my United driver questioned access on the basis of a Google satellite picture — we went over it again one more time! It was really like having a good friend on the other end making sure everything went smoothly.
BONUS: this family business has resident staff on the premises 24 and 7 so there is strict security and absolutely no hanky-​panky with anyone using units illegally or for any purpose other than storage.
I give this business my highest recommendation as they have made an extraordinary contribution to my transition to California. And yes — my stuff did fit in a 150 square foot unit!
