Mammoth Moving & Storage

In February 2016, I needed a company to move a houseful of valuable antique furniture — including some third generation family heirlooms and a grandfather clock, circa 1790 — about 150 miles from the central coast to central California. I called Mammoth Moving & Storage, thinking they would get the concept because they serve high-​end clientele in the Santa Barbara area. I knew from the minute Colin arrived and glanced around my living room, saying, «You’ve got some really nice stuff here,» that I had the right company. In addition to writing up a thorough item-​by-​item estimate for the move, Mammoth was able to offer me the insurance coverage that I needed, something that I was unable to find with other companies, because of the high value of my pieces ($ 70,000). The cost of the move was competitive with another company that wrote up a bid. I shudder to think what may have happened if I hadn’t gone with Mammoth Movers. Colin assured me that he would put his «best guys» on my job. The two guys arrived on time, and worked a solid 7 ½ hours until the truck was loaded, taking only a very short break. They were extremely conscientious with my antiques, and very polite and respectful of me. Every piece was carefully wrapped and gingerly loaded onto the truck. Colin made sure that I had a dedicated truck, and even though my stuff did not fill it up, he didn’t want anyone else’s belongings sharing the truck with mine, nor any other stops to be made other than my delivery. My pieces arrived when I was told they would, and were unloaded and placed where I wanted them. By the way, this was a 2-​destination delivery, involving most of the pieces being delivered to one address, followed by 5 large and expensive items being driven another 120 miles to their ultimate destination, including the 1790 grandfather clock that had to be hauled up a couple of flights of stairs! I recommend Mammoth Moving & Storage unequivocally.

Easy going staff members. Quick and courteous move in. I’m a student and I hate moving back and forth from the Bay Area and coming back after each summer. So I decided to use Mammoth to move out of my apartment and into the storage unit I was renting for the summer.
The guys moved my stuff in a quick manner and unloaded them at the storage facility for me, which helped me a lot since I had a back injury from work last year

Warning!!! Youngsters who are incoherent so don’t let them touch your stuff. Dumb as door nails and way over priced. If you have anything of value that you care about it.

Mammoth is amazing! I called last minute and needed some help moving a few things that needed to be picked up for a client, and I needed it done within a few hours. Originally there was no crew available until Thursday, but the front desk staff pulled a few strings for me and had a crew out in less than an hour. Everyone was so helpful, from the office staff to the movers! HIGHLY recommended!

Mammoth Moving is really a 10 STAR company!!! This was a difficult move for me, as I left Santa Barbara, CA to live in the Seattle area. From my 1^st meeting with Sean to the final day of the move with Evan in charge, these gentlemen were professional, kind, gentle, extremely dependable and took great care with my belongings. They actually arrived before I did and had everything ready to go the moment I pulled into town. I hope that if you have to move you’ll consider using Mammoth Moving… you won’t regret it! I called them for a rather unique sort of job on Father’s Day just a few days before. We needed them to move about 10 pieces of a very large and heavy (500lbs+) set piece from Santa Barbara to be brought to LA for filming, and then taken back to Santa Barbara, about a 12 hour day.
Sean didn’t even bat an eye at the unusual request and even made sure that we got some camera-​ready movers who agreed to be on camera. He answered all of the questions the owner of the set piece had about transporting, and was courteous and profession the entire time.

If your looking for a moving company look no further. Our experience with Mammoth Moving and storage was excellent. They arrived prompt and set to. Our two movers Peter and Marcel were extremely professional and courteous, they live by their team mammoth motto. Very impressive! We were moving our two bedroom home into storage and I did not think it would all fit. Not only did they pack it so well that it fit, we had room to spare ! I had been dreading the whole moving thing, but thanks to Colin the sales manager everything went incredibly smoothly ! Would highly recommend!

My last review of Mammoth was for our move from Santa Barbara to San Francisco. This time it’s for our move back down from SF. Another five-​star job. Moving from SF is not easy as there is limited parking and lots of traffic. The guys did a great job and even dealt with our 48 stair walk-​up. All items delivered as scheduled with no damage. Highly recommended.

Mammoth Movers handled everything I asked for very professionally! They are great to work with, super reasonable pricing, and they have three adorable puppies who hang out at the office :) I don’t know what that other review is about, sounds like someone reviewed the wrong company…

We had the worst experience ever! The move into storage went smoothly until we were given a receipt with charges amounting to $ 100 more than what was quoted. They said they had «behind the scenes» charges that we don’t witness! Why was this not up front until they had everything in the storage vault, at that point you have no choice but to pay. The move out of storage was a nightmare to schedule with the office staff. They were angry rude and extremely difficult! They are closed Sundays and open only 8 to 12 on Saturdays. Most people try to move weekends. If they do not want to work weekends they should not be in the business of moving and storage. Collin in the front office behaves like an angry pit bull barking at his customers. His customer service skills are nonexistent! The only bright spot was the actual movers. The guys doing the labor. They were fast, friendly and efficient. Thank you to Trevor, Allen, and Mark. BEWARE! Do business with this company at your own risk!
