I got a pair of earrings fixed here and had a great experience. He did it very quickly and extremely courteous too. I would most definitely be going back if I need any other piece of jewellery to be fixed.

Great little place. Service was quick and easy. I had just recently purchased a watch and needed it sized and cleaned and I was able to get it done for $ 15. Definitely recommend this place.

I had a wonderful experience getting my ring cleaned and soldered at Brasil’s. Tarcisco welcomed me in to his store right before he closed up for the night, and he stayed 45 minutes after closing to ensure my rings were sparkling clean and perfectly aligned. He was extremely warm and did a beautiful job. I went to him because my sister has had good experiences with him. A trustworthy jeweler with great customer service — highly recommend him! I will certainly be going back to him when I need my next cleaning.

I usually don’t write too many reviews but I was so happy with Tarcisco’s work I want to make sure he stays in business for years to come. It’s hard to find a good honest, reasonable Jeweler.
I had a string of turquoise beads that I wanted to make into a necklace, bracelet and earrings. I had gone to 2 other jewelers in the area and was quoted an outrageous price for what I wanted to have done. Tarcisco’s total charge was what the other jewelers would have charged for just the material (gold) cost.
We discussed exactly what I was envisioning and the pieces turned out beautiful. I’m very happy to have found Tarcisco and will recommend him to all my friends and family!

Brasil is fantastic! We bought an engagement ring from him and he mounted my mother’s diamond. It looks beautiful and he always treats us like gold whenever we visit for cleaning and polishing! He is also able to do most repairs on the same day, we like Brasil a ton and you will too!

Owner Tarcisio Brasil is a gem. So personable and nice, plus skilled.
I had an inexpensive necklace that I really liked and when it broke, I thought it wouldn’t be worth the expense or time to get it fixed. But I stopped by the shop just to see and he did a beautiful job, quickly, affordable. I would go back anytime I wanted to have something designed or repaired and I would gladly recommend him.
There are far too few of these excellent, owner-​operated shops in San Jose/​Santa Clara and I’m so happy to be able to support the ones that are here.

I went on a Fri morning 9am, closed, waited till 9:30am, still no one open the door. The phone # is the store # and doesn’t transfer to the owner’s cell so I have no idea when he will come.

The owner fixed my earrings, he did a great job! His prices are very reasonable! I shopped around… several jewelers told me that my earrings could not be fixed… Tarcisco told me it would be no problem to fix them. I highly recommend this place!

I recently purchased myself a three-​stone diamond and white gold ring for my birthday through a large and well-​known diamond company’s website. I ordered a size 6.5, however once it arrived I quickly realized that it was too big. I’m a hairstylist and my hands are always wet and cold so the diamond was swiveling around my finger. My mom told me to come to Brasil’s, she said they are quick and affordable! She was definitely right.
I brought my ring in during a break from work and the owner took a look at it. Right off the bat he suggested taking it down to a 5.5. I’ve never owned a ring that small, but then again I’ve never had a ring that wasn’t a band… so since I was scared that it’d be too small we agreed to take it to a 5 and ¾. He finished my ring in less than 2 hours and I had my ring that day! $ 45 later and my ring looked new and had no signs that it had been sized. It felt and looked great.
However, when I went to work the next day I realized it was still just a little too small, the diamond was continuing to swivel around my finger. I took my ring back to Brasil’s as soon as I could. He agreed to making it a 5.5. He did the work while I waited and let me try the ring on to make sure it would be a perfect fit before he finished it. Once completed I tried the ring on again. This time it was almost a little too tight, it was difficult to get on and off… however, it was a really warm day and I usually leave my rings on 24/​7, so I knew it would be just PERFECT during work.
Since the final sizing I’ve had very minor swiveling issues with my ring at work. A little movement is expected. I love it! I love that he was nice enough to do the work for me so quickly… and twice. I’ll definitely be coming here for future jewelry issues and cleanings. Fast, affordable and efficient!

This guy is a gem! He does great work and is as honest as can be. I cannot recommend him highly enough. Worth the drive from anywhere!

He fixed my smashed ring within 5 minutes.

I found this place on google, as I was looking for a goldsmith to size down my wedding ring which had an inscription on the inside. A couple of the fancy shmancy jeweller in Willow Glen told me that it couldn’t be done without ruining the inscription, so I decided to look for a dedicated goldsmith and I turned to Google, which turned up only a couple of places for a search query like «san jose goldsmith». I was a little apprehensive at first about going to a place that had no reviews on google (discoverd the the Unilocal reviews later), but I thought I’d try anyway.
As I discovered, i couldn’t have found myself in better hands. When you enter, the place looks half showroom, half gemologist workshop. As someone else mentioned — its a mom & pop type place with an owner and a vibe that you don’t see much of anymore. After some conversation with the very sincere, dedicated and likable owner, I learned that he has been in this trade since age 9 when he started as an apprentice in Rio De Janeiro. He seemed extremely dedicated to his craft and after listening to my request, said he could have it done by the next day. The fee he asked was about half to a third of what I had in mind. And so I left my ring with him.
As promised, he had it ready the next day, and had done a wonderful job with the resizing. I will be now going straight to him for any jewelry related work for myself or my wife (more for my wife actually, cos I don’t really have any jewelry: p).
5 stars to him for doing a great job, doing it quickly, for a reasonable fee and for running a dedicated thorough and honest business in this field which is full of overpriced rogues.

One of my favorite pieces to take from Unilocal is when I can praise a family owned business, especially the laboring type; Brasil’s is just that. Here the work is done on premises with bare hands and a level of skill I will never obtain. To work with you hands is to know how to use tools many of us can’t.
I had a pile of 9 different pieces to take in. Several necklaces that needed re-​stringing, a chain to fix, and some earrings that needed work. None of them are very expensive in monetary means but much more so in sentimental attachments. Since the re-​stringing was to be done on necklaces from afar, they were inexpensive to buy but as gifts for friend I had hoped that my souvenirs could be of use and enjoyed. Oddly enough the most labor had to be spent on necklaces that were actually from Brazil. Turns out to be usable once again, each bead (about 120 per necklace X 4 necklaces) had to be re-​drilled and then re-​strung. In short, a ton of tedious labor! The owner realized that my items were not worth much but really understood how I wanted these pieces preserved. He worked vigorously for two days to get it done. A surprise to me since upon dropping my things off, he said he would need time. Way ahead of schedule and seamless heartfelt repairs… awesome! I know there must have been so much work involved with my pieces and yet Brazil understood they were not worth the price it was to repair. In this sense, I was given an awesome deal because he cared about his consumer. I could have easily been charged double elsewhere for all the work completed.
My mom has also had a ring prong repaired here before. The prong fell off even after work was done, but Brasil took it back a worked on it again for free. Happy to report… still in good shape!
Not only is the actual work done quality, but the owner’s inviting personality is a rare quality found in a business these days. I was easily able to strike up a conversation regarding the Portuguese speaking parts fo the world I have been to and I felt like I could trust leaving valuables here.
I would recommend calling before a jaunt to the shop as the hours have changed and I am guessing he is not always able to open because of a family illness. For example I went and there was a note on the door that they did have to close unexpectedly. However, if you plan ahead, the return is definitely worth the wait!

I needed to get the back of my watch snapped back into place. He did it for free. Of course I gave him some $ but it was a nice gesture. Nice guy too and we talked for a while. Not every day that happens in this day and age.

Better priced than any jewelry store in the mall.
I got my girlfriend a ring online in which they were supposed to send a 5.5. Instead they ended up sending her a 4.5. We initially were going to go to Eastridge Mall in San Jose to resize her ring, but since it was Cinco De Mayo, we decided not to head down that path due to traffic. So I yahoo’ed up this place, and he said he would be closing in 15 minutes, but was nice enough to wait 10 minutes for us to come down, and resize my girlfriends ring. He was $ 10 dollars less than what the mall had quoted us.
Def. would come back here for all my jewelry needs.
