Mainly he seemed to want to control the process, get on with the process of «fixing» me, and not bother with what I had to say. I got the sense that he does not like clients who are informed or who question the institution of therapy. He was visibly irritated and defensive, and seemingly eager to dismiss whatever I had to say about my prior therapy experience, something which is highly charged and complex. But a competent and confident therapist should invite that sort of discourse.
I liked some of what he had to say about getting to the root of things, and not coddling the client and not encouraging them to carry on for months with endless talk therapy. But without establishing trust and safety and «first do no harm», I couldn’t see how we’d ever get there, and my gut sense was that danger lurked here. Felt too much like therapy via hammer blows.

Daniel is consistently polite and professional and really know his stuff. I saw him for Psych-​K many times for different issues. I always feel like we are getting to the root of an issue and clearing it out. He creates such a warm welcoming environment I feel like I can come to him about anything and he will help me through it.

Daniel Davis has been an incredible help to me. Whenever I need sage grounded advice, he is the one I call on. He has insight and intuition that is always on target. I can always count on his wisdom to guide me. I have utilized his knowledge in career counseling and his Psych K enabled me to get neutral about something that had previously been highly charged and stuck for me. Dan has a huge level of integrity and I trust him completely. I highly recommend him if you need support in taking your life to the next level.

Daniel Davis is a skilled psychotherapist whom I have referred many clients. Every client I have referred has reported significant success and improvement in their lives. He is highly skilled and trained in EMDR, Affect Management Skills Training, and Psych K for those interested in one or all of these modalities of treatment. He is known for his high degree of patience, knowledge, and professionalism.

Do not see this person if you can help it. Initially he seemed to be helpful but I had this nagging feeling (and probably reading his body language/​behavior) that his objective is to get a patient «better» as soon as humanly possible. Meaning, healing at his pace and not the patient. Furthermore, he likes to relay how many professionals he has trained under and his accomplishments. I had no idea who these people were and it came across like he was tooting his own horn.
His personality is not what I would call warm and welcoming. He is incredibly practical which for some would work but not for me. I need someone who is able to give empathy and be okay with the fact that if a patient isn’t on your timetable. Therapy in general requires a lot of hard work and you need a person that you feel very comfortable with to get through some really painful stuff.
Lastly, the way he conducts himself on the business end of things is sub par. You walk into his office and all he has are two chairs, a copier, and boxes filled with patient files. This does not exactly scream professional. Another patients records were in my folder and he began to discuss matters that did not pertain to me.
He does not give patients a bill so a few months into it, he said you owe $$$$ and I need to charge your credit card. The amount he came up with did not make sense to me and he became very defensive when I inquired about a break down. I know from both professional and personal experience that medical bills have mistakes on them. He kept calling me for payment and leaving me voice mails like «I don’t understand what the problem is, you owe me $$$$.» Had he been proactive/​organized about medical billing (a necessary component of health care) this crap wouldn’t have happened but sadly, he views it as me trying to get out of paying. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same financial page.
I also caught him trying to get me to pay for services he didn’t bill to the insurance company yet. This is a violation of his contract with my insurance company and perhaps other applicable laws.
