Santa Clara Smog Test

This place is tiny and in a very busy driveway, but… quick, honest and pleasant service. I called another place in Santa Clara, plus my Toyota dealership. Both quoted more than this place with longer wait times. I came in about 10am on a Saturday and was the only one there.20 minutes, in and out. My car passed too!
I’d suggest you check this place out when you need your car to be smog tested.

It passed all the smog stuff, but they found I have a small fuel leak that I didn’t know about. And actually, the fuel leak explains why my car has been harder to start recently. It still starts every time, but instead of 1−2s, it can take 5 to 6s. So I had taken to «priming» the fuel pump. (Turn the key to Acc, if you listen close, you can hear the fuel pump whirl. I repeated that 2 or 3 times every time before I actually try to start the car.) Basically, when the car was sitting, I was losing pressure in the fuel line, and had to build it back up again before it would start. Cool.
Anyway, he said bring it back, and he would only charge me to repeat one test, and he’d pass it. So it’s at my mechanic’s right now.
Nice guy. I’ve been to way too many smog places where they get really hyper if you fail for any reason. (As my car got older, it would fail if I didn’t let it warm up first.) This is my first time here, because my regular place isn’t Star certified, but I might come back!

Found this place since my old smog place lost their star certification. I went on a Wednesday at around 8:30am. Got in and out in 20 minutes and enjoyed their waiting room with tv while my car was being smogged. Cost $ 50.

The service is super quick. And, the customer serves could not be any better. I will be back next year…

Great place, fast polite and clean. Highly recommended, $ 50 for a Diesel F250 and took 15 minutes.

They gave me a quote over the phone and that is exactly what they charged me when I got there. The wait was less than 15 min. It was quick and my car passed!

Fast, honest and efficient… need I say more!

I went to this place and my car passed emissions with flying colors. But the damn egr wouldn’t function. Instead of helping me out, the guy said go figure it out and come back. So I went and replaced the thing. I went back and everything worked except the egr, even though it was brand new. The guy didn’t know how to fix it, why it wouldn’t work, or have any sympathy or leniency on the matter. I will never go back to this place. Biggest waste of $ 55 ever.

Great service! Quick and easy, in and out in 15 mins. There is a waiting room area, clean and bright. We were selling this truck and needed the smog for the buyer, they were nice to make me an extra copy for our records. I have already recommended this business to family as well. They were also very happy with the service!

Found this place through Unilocal and the reviews were favorable so I decided to give it a try. Took a coupon with me from their website so the total price was $ 45. The tech told me there was about a 20 min wait — that was OK with me. They have a small waiting room with WiFi so I was comfortable and not bored. I’d get my car checked there again. Total test time took about 25 min.

Great place:
a. There was no wait time. They finished the test on our 2 cars within 20 – 25 mins
b. Clean place
c. Very reasonable. we looked around and found this place to be most reasonable in terms of cost. We paid $ 40 for each car including the certification.

I learned of this Test Only place from Unilocal.I went there and had my car smog checked. I highly recommand this place.
This shop is located in a place that I generally would not want to visit, but I still decided to go there because of the low pricing.
To my surprise the two young mechanics there are very polite and sincere, they finished smog check within 20 minutes with everything done in Cal State standard. The shop is actually cleaner than most of the auto repair.
The entrance is hard to find though.

I called to ask the price and how long the waiting time is. I found out there was a promotion $ 38(I think it depends on wht car u hv) and there was only one car ahead of me so i decided to give this a try. It was on a weekday lunch time. I waited for abt 10 min for him to finish serving another customer. He was able to get the test done in 15 – 20 minutes. Efficient and great price.

I stopped by here to get a smog and I got it done rather quickly. I think I was in and out in ~20 minutes.
Anyway, the shop looks like any other shop. It has a waiting area which the last one I went to didn’t have and I spent less than $ 50 which seems competitive compared to other shops. I would go back again to get my other cars done when they are ready.

called several shops in area and he priced matched one of his competitors at $ 45 for everything. Once I arrived the tech was very nice. Didn’t talk a whole lot but was polite. What more can u say: great service for the price. Would recommend.

Went here to get my car smog done for lunch one day. Lucky me, I was able to fit in a slot with perfect timing. The person that helped me was friendly and the place was nice and clean with a small waiting room.
Id go back there again when its time for my next car…

The asian folks who work here are fast and friendly, and they walk you through the smog process. I’m not sure how much smog tests are these days (back in the days I remember it was only $ 30, guess no more!), but their regular price is $ 60 + about $ 20 in certification fees. Their website has a $ 20 coupon, which knocks it back down to $ 60 all inclusive.

I just went in (2 hours ago) for test only smog check for my 1996 Nissan, i give them 5 stars for the following reasons:
1. Open on Sunday
2. Quick job it took about 15 minutes
3. very cheap came out to about $ 41 everything included (test only)
4. very nice and polite technician
I’ll definitely go there for my other cars and recommend this place to everyone.

Sign says that they open at 8:30a, but the guy took us at 8:15a. Also gave us a discounted rate of $ 39.95 when we told him we found him through Unilocal (can’t remember how much the regular price was).
Was reasonably fast (it only took an hour, even though he said it would take 40 minutes). Would go there again.

How do you review a smog check place? It’s a garage, for goodness sake! :-)
Got in, got out — that’s the key! Reasonably priced ($ 55 incl. cert.), courteous, clean. Tough to get to (read the other reviews) so use the entrance off Pomeroy (first driveway on right from El Camino).
They’ll charge you less for a non-​Test Only check (competition, I guess).
