Dave was great to work with. Our kitchen backsplash turned out even better than I had expected. I would definitely use him again. Easy to work with, showed up on time and the entire job was done in 2 days.

The crew was nice, professional and showed up on time. Dave was very nice and came by to check out the progress on our backsplash. He and his staff gave design suggestions and were extremely careful to not damage our newly installed wood floors and granite countertops. I would definitely use them again!!!

Dave Walter and his crew did a great job on my kitchen backsplash. I appreciate contractors that communicate, do quality work, and show up when they say they are going to. We had a problem with the glass tile we bought from his supplier and filed a claim because it turned out to be a different color than what was on display in the store. Our claim got shot down but Dave went to bat for us and tried to help us get a resolution with the tile supplier which was appreciated. If your searching for a great tile contractor stop the search and use Dave, you will be happy!!!

Dave and his team were great. What I liked best was the attention to detail. Even though I had pre selected tile and grout colors things look a lot different than they look on the show room floors. We made some last minute changes. They gave me excellent advice. The shower they installed in my master bath came out so much better than I expected thanks to their experience and advice. Even the shower door installers I hired admired the workmanship.
The job was done right, prices never changed, and it was completed on schedule. I highly recommend them.

They are down to earth and were very professional and were honest with the time frame in which the job would be done. I love my three bathrooms! We have new beautiful floors and vanities! The tile job in our master bathroom is everything I dreamed of only better. Dave gave us suggestions as to where to shop for tile, granite and sinks. We actually got great prices (he gave us his contractor’s discount)!!! He and his dad work together (and are trustworthy and dependable). Their work is beautiful and perfect. I felt safe leaving them in my house. They are prompt. They have a team of people that work with them. Dave, his dad, his team of plumbers, wall board and orange peel wall coating guy are professional and fair. After each days work, Dave would clean up. (He even put down paper to protect the floors in other parts of our house.) We had one issue with the bank (the banks error) and it was Dave who went to the bank and solved the problem! I would hire him again in a second. In fact he is going to give an estimate to my son who wants to retile his bathroom. Oh and his pricing was better than the other estimates we received. They came back a second time to do a repair at no extra charge because some stone did not match. We are grateful that David and his crew were available to help us.

Dave Walter and his crew were unprofessional, unskilled, dishonest, and full of excuses. They damaged one of our cabinets during demo and left blood on 2 areas of our walls and oven in the process. We bought 3 different kinds of tile because they didn’t know how to work with tile on a paper backing. They tiled over pre-​existing holes that would have allowed us to easily re-​install the wall plates for our electrical outlets and microwave. The quote said he’d be finished in 3 days but it took 6 weeks due to multiple issues.
He encouraged us to purchase tile from a company he had connections with. We went to the store and bought tile they used for an entire display kitchen. The initial red flag was when Dave changed our project start date twice. This was an indicator that he juggles projects and has a difficult time sticking with a schedule. He failed to notice during the first visit to our house that our existing tile continued behind our microwave. On Day 1, his crew explained we’d have to take the microwave down in order to remove our existing backsplash and that someone else would have to reinstall the microwave. It would’ve been nice to know this before we signed the contract and bought the tile. His crew fractured a small portion of our brand new maple cabinets, and a guy cut his finger and left BLOOD over our walls and oven. When my husband confronted him about everything, he denied it. However, Dave confirmed his guy had definitely cut his finger and apologized for this incident. We cleaned the blood up ourselves. Still on Day #1, they claimed the tile we purchased was defective and that we should have bought tile on a mesh backing versus paper backing. This was odd, being that the tile was used in a large kitchen display at the tile store. Nevertheless we bought a new batch of tile. We explained to Dave’s contact at the the store that their tile was defective. The employee stated that the tile was not defective and the paper backing was not the problem, as most tile is manufactured on paper backing anyway. My husband spent 1.5 hours in their warehouse going through each box of the tile we selected, making sure the individual sheets were on mesh backing. We thought this would be the end of it. We were WRONG.
The same crew returned. They were about 50% done putting up the new tile when we went downstairs to inspect their work. It was completely CROOKED. The main guy stated he was getting a headache looking at it. Then why didn’t they STOP putting up the tile and notify us if it was crooked even on the mesh backing? What’s interesting is that the crewmember kept changing his story about why the tile was crooked (first he said it was not crooked, then he said it was the tile itself, then he said it was the color of the tile). My husband took out a level and showed them how it was misaligned. They should not have undertaken a project they were incapable of finishing or should have stopped when they saw an issue. Dave came to our house and once again said it was a problem with the manufacturer and the tile, not his team, and the tile was taken down. After 2 consecutive failures, Dave took us shopping for tile at a few different stores. When my husband and I arrived at these stores and explained to the owners our stipulation, they both insinuated it was our contractor who had the problem. We bought a third batch of tile and hoped for the best. 3 batches of tile and weeks later, the job is finally finished. My husband tries to re-​install the plates for the 11 electrical outlets in our kitchen that Dave removed. Rather than leaving the same diameter openings, Dave’s crew tiled OVER the holes to the point that the wall plates could not attach to the outlets. They also tiled over the holes that allow us to put our microwave back up. I called Dave immediately to come and fix this and he says he would return later in the week. We don’t hear from him for 10 days, so my husband ended up buying the necessary tools cut the excess tile to put the wall plates back on. We hired someone to put the microwave back up as well. Dave finally texts back with yet another excuse as to why he has not finished the job. Not once did he apologize for his crew’s incompetence.
Adding insult to injury, Dave asked us on 2 occasions for additional funds to pay his crew. It was not our fault the crew had to work additional days as it was clearly an issue of skill and competence. A large portion of their «extra time» was due to the fact they continued to put up and then had to take down tile that they knew was «defective.» In good faith we said we’d pay him an additional $ 250 if he was able to get our money back from the first tile store. The company issued us a refund through Dave’s guidance. I feel the only reason we got the refund was because the company also credited Dave $ 250; otherwise I doubt that Dave wouldn’t have cared about our loss. Horrible experience overall. Would never recommend this company. Buyer beware!

I would highly recommend Dave and his crew. He called me back right away, unlike other contractors. He came out on a Sunday to do the quote and once they started he came every day until it was completed. He even came out on a Sunday night to do the final sealing of the tile. The work was done by his crew Jose and Ramon, who are awesome. They were meticulous in putting down tarps to ensure nothing happened to my carpet. I trusted them completely in my house while I was at work, which goes a long way for me. End result was beautiful.

I highly recommend Dave for your tiling needs. I selected him based on his Unilocal reviews. He transformed my bathroom from the original build to a beautiful and tranquil space. Dave and his Dad know their stuff and do the job right. Dave was able to nicely advise me what needed to be done to transform my vision into reality. There were details that he thought of and things he suggested, like framing the soap dish, which enhanced the look. They were meticulous in the details and even helped with tile discounts.
In addition to setting the tile beautifully, he works with the other contractors, such the plumber and hot mopper, making sure the job was done right and the deadline was met. This was a huge plus!
In the end I have a bathroom much better than I had dreamed possible, for a fair price, and by people that I enjoyed having around. I will be recommending Dave Walter Tile and Stone to all of my family and friends. A huge thumbs up to Dave and his Dad.

Look no further Unilocalers, Dave is your guy. I needed a tile backsplash installed in my kitchen so I took to Unilocal to try to find someone that would do a good job at a reasonable price. I found Dave and he didn’t disappoint at any stage of the process.
He was super prompt with communication, emailed over a quote when he said he would (despite being out of the country on vacation), which is more than most guys out there will do, and he followed through exactly as promised. He also had a great connection at Bedrosians and got us an AWESOME price on the glass tile we wanted.
His guys showed up during the estimated time (again, unlike most other guys we’ve dealt with), covered the areas of our home they moved through with cloth to keep it clean and protected, finished the job as estimated, and did a good job with the work.
After, Dave followed up to make sure we were happy with everything. When I let him know everything was good, but there was one small thing that I wish had been done a little differently, he came back out personally the next week, and redid an area. Dave is a class act and top notch. If only every other tradesman operated his business like Dave!

This is a follow-​up to the review that I wrote about Dave’s installation of kitchen tile in January of this year. Some days after the job was done, I noticed that one of the tiles was damaged. (His foreman probably didn’t notice the small chip in the tile’s corner.) I wrote Dave an E-​mail about this problem the morning of Superbowl Sunday. Within a few hours, Dave had written back to set up an appointment for Wednesday of the same week. Astounding! How many vendors will take care of your issue on this holiest of holy days in this country?
As promised, his foreman returned that Wednesday, and in addition to replacing the damaged tile, he touched up the grout in a few places, too.

Dave Walter and his crew are ROCK STARS! We recently moved into a new home and I wanted a subway glass tile kitchen back splash installed before we moved in less than a week away. Dave Walter came as a referral from one of the large tile distributors. Dave was gracious enough to answer my late night call to confirm his availability. He arrived at my home the next day and provided a quote on site. He knew we had no time to waste, so he had his crew install the back splash that weekend. While we were rushed to get the job done, the quality of their work did not suffer. It is GORGEOUS! I had other contractors there making a mess with crown molding and painting. Dave and his crew kept their job neat and tidy. They went above and beyond and even cleaned several of the other rooms for us. I look forward to working with them again on our bath remodels! After another contractor did an absolutely horrible job of installing our kitchen backsplash, we needed help removing the ugly mess and replacing it with new tiling. When several of the bigger remodeling companies around town didn’t want t take on the job cause it was relatively small scale, Dave came to the rescue.
From the get-​go, Dave was incredibly professional and friendly over the phone. He not only provided a reasonable quote, researched and purchased needed materials and gave detailed account of those costs, but also answered all phone calls and messages with timeliness and courtesy. Because of a last minute opening in their schedules, Dave arrived on the job within a day of calling about the estimate!
The tile installation came out beautifully — Dave and his father (also named Dave) did a meticulous job in all aspects — They carefully covered and protected the floors and countertops before starting, and were flexible and very accommodating when of coordinating with my parents and myself on the final tile layout. The work was done with precision and attention to detail, and they did an equally thorough job of cleaning up the job site once complete.
Incredibly appreciative that our kitchen tile was installed so expertly — and in time for the holidays! :) Highly recommend!

Amazing! Not only was he always on time but he is extremely nice and very knowledgable about everything! He gave me the best references for other work needed around the house too. Huge help. He knows everyone. Him and his father came to instal backsplash for me and they did a perfect job. We couldn’t be happier about our experience with him. You can’t go wrong! He’s fantastic.

I hired Dave Walter even though I didn’t see enough reviews, he just gained my trust from the start by being friendly. I have called a lot of contractors before and some didn’t even bother to call back and others didn’t get back to me after seeing the job. Dave answered my call and gave me his quote promptly. His rate is reasonable and he answered all my inquiries. He was able to squeeze me in his tight schedule. He did our kids bath tub to shower conversion and he acted as an overall contractor, he referred to me reliable plumber, electrician and drywall repair man. The tiling is done beautifully and I am very much satisfied with their workmanship, truly a work of a professional tiler. I would definitely hire him again if we ever come up with another project.

Dave Walter came in as a subcontractor for a bathroom remodel. I needed the main bathroom to have natural stone tiles installed to replace the vinyl tiles that my wife and I installed 24 years ago!
Dave and his father did a tremendous job of fitting and cutting the tiles and lining them up so they look perfectly aligned.
Dave Jr. came in the following day to grout and again with precision and meticulous procedure he put in the charcoal colored grout to really enhance the beauty of the floor.
From beginning to end, Dave Walter performed as a professional should and I was very impressed with his technique, careful attention to detail, and cleaning up and vacuuming all areas near and around the project.
I forgot to mention in the first posting that Dave provided me with information on the durability of stone and other types of floors which ultimately allowed me to make a decision on a second bathroom flooring. Dave is very knowledgeable.
