I just sampled some of the best shave ice I’ve had since my last trip to the North shore of Oahu. Super friendly service, and all favors are natural and HOMEMADE. Nothing came out of a jug and I could absolutely taste the difference. Delicious and refreshing. Their truck will definitely be at my next party!

I find myself almost expecting less than good customer service these days, so when I experience EXCELLENT service it almost knocks me out.
Last Friday was Employee Appreciation day and we didn’t realize it until late that morning. My SVP of HR wanted to do something nice for our employees and asked that I look into bringing an ice cream truck or something like it to the facility. Kona Ice was my first call, and my luckiest.
Jeff answered the phone professionally and enthusiastically agreed to do a last minute event for us at such an amazingly reasonable price! We entertained 100 people for less than $ 3.50 a head, and that included a 20% added gratuity! The flavors were delicious. I had the Pina Colada and loved it. Everyone else raved about their experience overall. I mean, where do you find a truck that will come to your office, play fun music and serve delicious shaved ice with a four hour notice? Folks, this does not happen every day.
Most important, Jeff made me look good to my executives, and for that I will recommend him to other businesses moving forward. He is classy, professional, energized, passionate about his business and just a great guy to do business with. I can’t wait to use him again… thanks Jeff! :-)

Great ice! Friendly and fun! Will definitely call for future events! It was a hit with the kids and the flavors were delicious. The owner is very personable and the experience for our Cub Scout troop was just perfect.

Jeff’s a nice guy, his truck is clean, and the idea is novel… but he bills his product as shaved ice. It isn’t. He sells snow cones. Shaved ice is finer and more delicate than the crushed ice of snow cones. That being said, for $ 3, you get a cup of crushed ice that you can flavor however much or little you like. The flavoring is self-​serve and you have something like 9 flavors to choose from. I chose a couple of different flavors, but didn’t find either particularly appealing. One of them left an aftertaste in my mouth. I’d rate Kona Ice higher, but I truly have had much better.

This truck was great, it was on time, the driver was friendly and informative, and I absolutely loved the music that came with the truck. The only reason I rated 4 stars was the fact that the flavor I chose, watermelon tasted particularly flavorless to me. Although it was still a great treat on a hot day, thanks for coming to our movie set!

For what it is, it definitely deserves a 5 star rating. The truck was where it was promised to be, and was on time, if not early. The owner/​driver (Jeff, I believe) was friendly and professional. The pricing was fair, and the do it yourself machine was a huge hit with the kids (and many of the adults).
For me personally, there are a bunch of other desserts I would prefer over shaved ice, but Kona is the best shaved ice I have tasted. Plus, all that really matters is the kids loved it. As a parent, what I appreciated was the customer service and cleanliness of the truck. It looked freshly washed and was well kept. Jeff was also quick to point out the convenient napkin/​wipe placement just next to the flavor dispensers.
The owner told me his side of his lone 1 star review, and his story seemed genuine. If you are considering his truck for your next event, I would suggest giving Jeff a call before letting the 1 complaint deter you. I would highly recommend the Kona truck for any children’s event.

The mobile shaved ice truck was on my son’s school campus this afternoon for a Fall Picnic. Super friendly folks running the truck and great flavors from which to choose. I’m not a shaved ice connoisseur, but i liked how I was able to pick and dispense my own flavors from the truck’s «flavor bar». More important, my kids liked it even better.

I booked Kona Ice for our elementary school carnival. The kids and adults really enjoy the ice and being able to dispense the large selection of flavors. They showed up on time, set up, cleaned everything up and donated a portion of their profits back to the school. Kona is always a hit — even when the weather is cold. Thanks again for being part of our event!
