I would like to give this company 5 stars because Bruce, the owner seems to be a very decent guy. But what’s the point of review sites if reviews arent totally honest right! So here goes:
Things I liked:
1. Bruce, the owner, was pleasant and showed up on time at 9:30 am
2. Bruce seems to really know his stuff when it comes to alarm systems
3. My alarm system now works again, and works much better than before
4. Bruce is easy to talk to and if you have a problem or issue, he seems genuinely interested in finding a solution
Things I didn’t like:
1. Secure Tech charges a «$ 35 trip fee.» What is that? It’s not like I had the option of going to Secure Tech! To be fair, this charge was not hidden but rather, was disclosed up front. Bruce later explained that this fee offsets his time lost to traveling in the congested L.A. area. None of the other alarm companies I called charged this fee of charged for travel time.
2. Inefficient use of time led to a much bigger bill ($ 765.00) than expected. For example, Bruce initially sold me a new alarm siren before testing the old one or testing the wiring. AFTER he installed the new siren he determined the wiring was actually the problem. Siren now gets uninstalled which takes time. I tested the old siren afterwards and it works fine. At $ 120/​hour, time not well managed gets costly very fast. In my view, inefficient time management/​planning made the job take longer and thus much more expensive.
3. After spending $ 765 to repair and upgrade my 20+ year old alarm system, my neighbor laughed at me because he just purchased a brand new, state of the art wireless alarm system for under $ 400 (installed and monitored for $ 35/​month!) and which provides much better security than mine. Bruce never discussed this option with me. In hindsight, had I known I would have replaced my old system with a newer, modern computerized alarm system for nearly half the price. Hard to do that now having spent so much money on this repair.
While i am overall satisfied with Secure Tech’s work, and Bruce is a very nice person, I’m not sure I’d use Secure Tech in the future. I would have wanted «new system» options discussed before the repairs were done, and would liked to have seen better time management.
UPDATE: I think it very irresponsible that an alarm company owner who serviced my home alarm system to advertise on Unilocal that my alarm system is not monitored! Is he he crazy or what? If I get burglarized I will definitely sue this guy if it turns our the burglar read Bruce’s response to my review! Shameful! Is it retaliation?

Our home builder installed a wired security system that never worked properly. Bruce was able to resolve the issues and expand our protection where I needed it. We had looked at the wireless options offered by other companies and while Securetech could install one if I wanted, Bruce helped me understand the benefits of a wired system. He never pressured me into a purchase but instead offered me cost effective options to secure my home with my existing system. Always available for questions about the system or service, Bruce is an extremely patient and cordial professional and I can’t recommend him enough!

Just had three high-​def cameras with a dvr and metal lockbox installed yesterday. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome. Bruce, the owner, responded immediately to all of my emails regarding scheduling, and was able to put us on the calendar a few short days after quoting us (which he did the same day I called). I always appreciate a prompt, thorough response when shopping for something and, because of this and his excellent price, he got the job. On the day of installation, the team was exactly on time (again, much appreciated when so many people are not). The two guys on Bruce’s team, Aaron and Andrew, did our camera installation/​setup and they did a fantastic job! Aaron explained everything to us, as far as remote viewing and the use of the dvr. They cleaned up our garage and left zero trace of any work being done, all the cables were hugging the ceiling tightly, and the space between the cameras and wall was sealed for waterproofing. Overall, from start to finish, my husband and I were very impressed with the entire process and we will definitely be using them again for additional cameras, etc. I would highly recommend SecureTech to anyone looking for competitively priced, high quality surveillance cameras coupled with excellent service.

Bruce and his team are great! They are reliable, straight forward, honest and also competitive in their pricing. Real professionals who know their field, technology and the different products available to consumers. They have installed 2 custom alarm systems and a video intercom system for me over the last few years. I consider them my go-​to for all home security related installs. I feel that the custom system is much more secure than a generic ADT-​type system, and without the contracts and annoying sales team. It’s a little bit more up front, because you are buying the components, but it does increase home value and it’s just, well, better all around! Bruce will make suggestions according to your concerns, needs and budget. His recommendations are based on his know-​how and experience, which is another reason to call him! We’ve been customers of Secure Tech for over two years, but a recent upgrade has reminded me how highly I regard their services and how exemplary Bruce Aronson is in particular. Prompt, reasonable, patient, thorough — he answered my many questions and made sure EVERYTHING was working exactly as it was supposed to. Bruce does so much more than just install cookie-​cutter systems. He trailers them to the unique needs/​tastes of each customer.

Perfect from start to finish! I had an intercom system that was failing. Every place I called, I could only get a receptionist on the phone, who had no idea about anything. Here, I got through right away to the owner. He set an appointment time and arrived exactly on time, including the courtesy call I had requested 30 minutes prior. When he pulled up, I looked inside his rig, I have never seen a more organized van, everything in labeled metal drawers, tidy and tight and right. He quickly sized up the problem and explained my two options for repair, the expensive one and the less expensive one. His repair was perfect and he shared good advice on how to get another item in my home working better, and he was right! I got a clear, well written invoice. I will always use Bruce and his company Secure Tech. He clearly is an expert and runs his business in a very customer friendly way. On time, on budget, clean and respectful. I also think the price I paid was well explained prior and fair.

Secure Tech was great! I had a problem with an old alarm system. I didn’t think an old system could be fixed and I would have to get a new system. Bruce Stinson was professional and very helpful. He was able to diagnose the problem and reprogram my system in a very short period of time. He also checked the battery backup and replaced it. What a great experience.

We took installing a home alarm system very seriously, and investigated multiple installers. We chose Secure Tech because their pricing was competitive, their referrals were solid (we checked multiple) and the owner, Bruce, is a nice, straightforward person whom we trust. Beyond that, we were very concerned about high quality workmanship (clean installation, equipment functions properly, etc.) and on on that note, Secure Tech delivered. Their 2 installers, Rick & Bill, were nothing short of awesome. They arrived to work each day on time, and they always had great attitudes. They worked without breaks throughout the day, and they took their time to do great work. Anything we asked them to do, they said yes. We had feedback for them on a couple minor points and they listened and adjusted accordingly. Once the system was installed, they tested it thoroughly and showed us how to operate it. Only after completing all work did they ask for payment– it doesn’t get any more fair than that! I’m very pleased with the system Secure Tech installed, and enthusiastically recommend them to anyone considering a home or business alarm system.
