Established in 1922.

Aleene Ace Althouse has been with State Farm since 2003 and is a long time Santa Cruz resident. Known for her honest, ethical, and caring dedication to her clients-​Aleene takes pride in educating people about insurance. She believes people spend a lot of money on insurance, which is why Aleene helps her clients make educated decisions on the coverage options that are right for them. Involved in several community groups, she is proud to be an advocate of many local charitable organizations with her contributions of time and monetary support.

Aleene Althouse has been my insurance agent since I bought my first car three years ago, and she has never been short of amazing. She recommended good insurance, and even offered that I could save money by getting renter’s insurance, which I did. I am so thankful to have an agent like Aleene and especially that she has such a great team in her office. Lori has been helping me out recently with protecting not only my cars, but also my personal belongings and she mentioned life insurance, which I hadn’t ever really thought about before she mentioned it. She explained to me that life insurance isn’t meant to be morbid, it’s meant to help you plan for the future, and is totally customizable to my needs and budget. I’m so glad that I came in (even if it was just to get my birthday gift!)

I never thought I would give a good review to an insurance company, but I’ve been really happy with Aleene Althouse and her team. They seem to truly care about their clients. I have had my car hit twice while it was parked on the side of the road, and although the insurance company for the cars that hit me ended up taking care of the damages Jennifer was there the entire way to make sure I was taken care of. On a broader note I am really impressed with the State Farm business strategy in general, after receiving a refund check I asked Jennifer about it to make sure I wasn’t going to be hit up to have it repaid later (as I would have expected from say a cellphone company), she explained to me that it’s a mutual company, meaning that it’s basically owned by the policy holders, and if a profit is made it’s returned. In an age where many company’s seem out to grab as much money as they can, that is really appreciated.

This agent is the BEST I have ever encountered… She has a personalized service that sets the bar for other agents. Aleene is so great not only does she travel to San Jose for us but I also have my 80 year old father now as one of her clients and he thinks she is the best. Didn’t think it was important who your agent was until I had a good one. Aleene is thorough, her staff is courteous, and she takes the time to do a thorough analysis of your needs. She seems to enjoy her work and cares about her clients — something I never got from previous insurance agents.

A friend referred me to Aleene’s office when I was looking for a State Farm insurance agent. I checked the office out and really liked the atmosphere and the staff. They are all young, knowledgeable and very responsive.
What I like most about Aleene is that every time some insurance policy change, I get a call or an email telling me, how it is going to affect my policy. She reviews all my policies regularly and makes suggestions on how i can save money or improve coverage.
I also switched my business insurance to her. Great service.

I’ve worked with many insurance offices through the years but none were as great as Aleene and her staff at State Farm. Everyone is very helpful and it is always a pleasure to deal with them. Most of the time I stop by even without an appointment and they are always available to help me. Parking can sometimes be a problem but just make sure you turn on Union Street and then there is a small lot. The parking is shared with an optomotrist, Dr. Kuo (who is also excellent!).

I’ll be the first to admit that I really don’t understand too much about insurance. The office here is really really helpful (Lily helped me out a ton) and definitely take the time to walk me through every question I have. Everyone there is extra nice and I like stopping by the office for whatever reason. Be careful about it’s location though! The address is on Union St. but it’s really more on Mission Street where it meets King St. next to the Valero station.
